And Everyone Was Kung Fu Fighting - Kung Fu Cult Dynasty Quest

This looks really interesting. Probably a little late to submit a plan but here it is anyway.

[X]Plan Caesar

[ ] Chosen Successor

[4] Kaleidoscope of Eternity Style
[4] Vengeful Cobra Style
[4] Ever Thirsting Void Style
[2] Crane and Spider Style

[ ] Loyal Rival
[ ] Dispossessed Noble
[ ] Itinerant Miko
[ ] Sage of the Forbidden
[ ] Exiled Advisor
[ ] Bandit Chief

[3] Hidden Lair
[2] Tame Nobles
[2] Farmland
[2] Veteran Mooks
[1] Informers
[1] Taxpayers
[1] Profitable Resource

[ ] Life Debt
[ ] Meddling Magistrate

Name: Zhang Long, male

My thinking was this:
1- The chosen martial arts make us the king of attrition and extremely mobile and gives us temporal manipulation.
2- The chosen allies add diversity, apart from the Rival, who simply reinforces our strength.
3- The cult is set up to be hard to find and mostly self-sufficient. We also have competent Mooks, always a plus.
4- Finally, I don't think the chosen disadvantages are too onerous and I do like the plot hook of Life Debt.

Thoughts?

So what would be the end goal for a kung fu cult? Yellow turban style rebellion?

GM Agrees word of god is on my side.

GM Agrees that being able to function in high society is useful and that being a crazy strong mcmurder punching dragon hurts things.

Sublime Force is at [3] now to punch/throw harder + abuse item hardening and Kaleidoscope of Eternity Style at [2] to actual help combat speeds.

@veekie While I did vote for yours I'm not sure Hidden Lore is a good idea. Would it not be better to choose Young Prodigy instead and started with 3 points in Kaleidoscope instead? We'll have harder time raising it to 4 but with current plan we'll be spending a lot f anyway. Getting 3 levels right off the bat seems to be more beneficial. Use the 1 cult point for either Syle Utilaztion, Veteran Mooks, or More Minion.

[X]Plan Caesar

Because time-had and VOID! are fun, and the other options don't seem to conflict too bad.

Since no one's even considering mine...

Because it's already an enormously heavy hitter with mastery of Cauldron of Creation and Oncoming Monsoon as a combination, we're talking blow away small armies, repeatably, as long as we keep our spiritual center, and it also comes with a danger sense to void surprises.

And Hidden Lore lets us teach ANYONE with the ability to learn, given time and talent, so we can teach the style without our leader's personal time investment. It's basically a future uptech resource.

Hmm. @Happerry , questions. Does we need to have Hidden Lore of a style to be able to have other taughts without the leader personal time investment? By that I mean is there no one else who are capable teaching the styles we choose except our character? Does that mean we have to spend an action if we want to teach others a style we know?/Will having Hidden Lore (X) grants a free action for training others in style X?

It's a safe assumption that people skilled enough in a style to teach it are going to be all hero units, so if you want a hero to learn a style you basically need both of them to spend their time, one to study one to teach. Or if you have the full manual you just need the learner.

Maybe. I rather have confirmation than assumption regardless. Especially since this is the first time I actually participate in a CK/dynasty style quest.

The one (major) issue I have with Veekie's plan is that bit about Cauldron of Creation requiring internal balance and the right mindset. It just seems like the sort of thing we could easily fuck ourselves over with.

Do you really think that SV won't be able to play a mentally balanced character?

... You are probably right. Hopefully a Master of the Cauldron of Creation would have a good idea of what exactly it would take to go out of balance and that we therefore get a heads up. It might just be some "Don't fall to the dark side" thing.
