There's been speculation on Chaos Dwarves and Umbraneth being released any second now for several years. It's clear that GW has it up their sleeves, considering some leaks that we've had, but it seems that they're holding back for some reason.
GW's production is in chaos. Like it's a huge mess and they are delaying launches constantly right now. Usually before they announce them to the public.

A few days back we had another look into the upcoming return of Old World. The main take aways are:
1) No more Magic Phase. Magic seems to have been simplified and universalized among the various factions in numerous ways. Tomb Kings continue to have to cast like everyone else, for example. Likewise Spell Type is back and expanded with a few new varieties [Conveyance, Assailment].
2) In return, Magic is broken down into the four phases [Magic between Movement and Shooting replaced with Strategy before Movement].
3) Speaking of, Strategy seems to be used for all those various edge-cases like Fanatics, Rallying, and unspecified special rules [possibly where Reinforcements and such will come into play?].
4) There.. may or may not be back-and-forth play as in the LotR game? It's ambiguous, but they do mention back-and-forth taking turns of casting spells during Strategy. Which sounds approximately in line with the Lord of the Rings system, but could also simply be a misspeak about how each turn the respective player will choose casters in a set order [or, alternatively, that in the case of 2+ casters players alternate in determining which of the active player's casters is casting next]. It's very messy without further detail.
More news from Old World. Movement this time! Some significant notes included in here:
1) It looks like Lustria campaign's special movement rule is being brought back for "Close order" and "Open order". Details are scarce, but the description for how the latter works seems like it matches.
2) We have some more information on ranks! Specifically you can never get a rank bonus while being deeper than you are wide. Units that are deeper than they are wide get triple movement, but cannot declare charges and gain no rank bonuses.
3) Lance Formation! It's back! Kind of. Sort of. It's different from 6E through 8E, but I don't think many people will be surprised / upset.
4) Charging is different! A mix of pre-8E and 8E. You charge 2d6+M, but you only take the best of the 2d6 (or 3d6 best two with Swiftstride) instead of all the dice.
If this and the new Abhorrent Gorewarden is anything to go by the FEC are gonna get it real good this weekend, and it along with their last few releases really seem to herald a greater focus on making the noble courts into well, noble courts
Noteworthy changes:
1) We're back to single rank shooting outside Hills & Special Rules
2) Armor penetration rules may be seeing changes. Emphasis may. A Screaming Skull is only -1 / -3 and Armor Piercing is still around so it's possible there will be situations Strength is no longer a linear scale / universal.
3) Similar ambiguity on if all targets are declared at once or you complete each unit's shooting phase one at a time.

I'm very glad to see that the new FEC models are actually going to reflect their interesting lore, as opposed to being mostly reused WHF models where the interesting bits are all written down. The whole brutal faux-nobility of bone and gore look is fantastic.
Honestly, the idea that anyone would even doubt this judge is just absurd I tell you, why he has four books on hand at once to argue his case with!
Such dedication to his work and yet slanderers persist :-(
There's so much detail on that wig that it makes me vaguely queasy. A testament to how well made the model is that it gives me that reaction. If I were to take a guess, this model would probably operate similarly to other "scribe" type hero unit and have buff abilities that strengthen allies based on a variety of choices that you can choose in the hero phase.
I hope they keep pumping out Ghoul units. They're one of the armies in most desperate need of new units, and not just new heroes. Their model line is literally based off kitbashing old models. I think they need a bit of a revamp.

There's been some leaks floating around implying that's gonna be the case for a while, and with all the promotion Warcom's done recently about us "being invited to the Great Feast" I'm hoping we're at least looking at an Ironjawz situation, but who knows with GW?

I think they're possibly building up to releasing Ushoran "The Summer King" from his seal. It would be a neat way to cap off the Era of the Beast by releasing the progenitor of the Flesh Eaters and giving him a model.
Personally I would like that very much, because Ushoran is the only Mortarch to outright defy Nagash and fight back against his rule, and it's always felt like the Flesh Eater Courts were never really in the Nagash camp like the other Death factions. They're more mercenary and can tend to swing sides, and there are times in which they've been convinced to do good when others take advantage of their self-percieved righteousness and code of honor and chivalry.

As a Skaven player with way too many rats already I am of two minds when it comes to the rumors about us being one of the faces of next edition and getting a large range refresh since on one hand a lot of our stuff is really old and needs replacement on the other I have more than 10k worth of the rats painted and based already so it would be really annoying to have to replace or rebase stuff.

Unfortunately this already happenned with the Seraphon. TBH I just hope tournaments accept both older and newer models, and if you feel up to it you can start phasing out your old models with time. Unless they add a lot of new units other than refreshing the old ones, you can probably continue using your old models.

I do a fair bit of organized play, tournaments and such are nearly always fine with old models the only thing is they need to be on the right base size. In 40k where shooting and cover are more important you generally also want to have the model be the same height and have a similar visual profile.

Hark! Hark! News come pouring in from all over the realms, the noble courts long languishing, have once again set their sight on bringing peace and prosperity to all for the glory of New Summercourt!
See here lowborn, even you can become celebrated as an elite guard of your lord, wielding fine weapons imbued with divine sparks!
Naturally, such a fine army needs the most chivalrous of cavaliers, taking flight upon noble pegasi and powerful draconith, glorious banners raised high!
When things look truly dire, the mighty templars of the court are roused from their meditations in underground cloisters to ride out and face whatever evil besets their people!
The divinely touched Cardinals of the faith shepherds the faithful, calling upon the Summerking's miracles as they proclaim the faith to all who would listen
Though New Summercourt is fair, progressive, and good, there are some crimes that simply cannot be abided or forgiven. When the robust wheels of the justice sytem have finished turning, it is the Royal Decapitator who steps up to the task of giving criminals a quick and honourable death
Of course grandest and most glorious of all, none could hold so much as a candle compared to...Run, run far away! DO NOT OPEN THESE GATES FOR BEYOND LIES ONLY DELUSION...hmm, what was I saying again? Ah yes...
Ushoran is probably one of the oldest characters from Warhammer Fantasy to not have a model and get one. And what a glorious model it is. I'm looking forward to seeing what the FEC have in store.
Oh yeah I guess also of note Tomb Kings are getting a Dragon mount for their characters.
On one hand this is a tad disappointing to me. From a modeling / continuation angle I'm left wondering if the Sphinxes will not be making a comeback, as if they do that's a second Large Mount / Creature ride option for characters which potentially doesn't set the best of precedent [but if they don't it fills an obvious roster hole in return for invalidating one of the more popular entries from 8E]. And from a lore perspective the implication that they were, uh, bound to the Kings' will? Feels a bit out there inferring either it's just GW being glib with the promotional lore [they would never!] of which I'm fine with... or that, again, Tomb Kings are getting some pretty major factional reworking behind the scenes [which is a shame as I absolutely have zero interest in Yet Another Evil Undead Egyptian Polity Aiming To Take Over The World And Subjugate All To Their Will].
On the other hand the model is absolutely gorgeous. It addresses one of the big lore hiccups [which is that, logically, Khemri should have had a moderate bit of exposure to Dragons as even if Dragons were in decline since before the collapse of the Polar Gates there should have been more ~4000 years before the present WHFB date] in at least some fashion, and if GW was being glib I'm entirely on board for more Dragon characters in WHFB's lore. Plus, again, the model is gorgeous. But lastly it might mean GW is still interested in large monsters for WHFB. Which is sort of a mixed blessing for me as I absolutely loathed their proliferation in 8E, but the models usually look good and as long as they don't become mandatory with the meta I don't mind a fantastical setting getting more fantastical creatures.
