Sighing, and looking around the lodge a bit paranoid, you start your search for bugs and hidden camera's. Even though it's not your lodge, and you don't even have anybody to talk to for bugs to pick up on. Or any sensitive information for someone with a bug to steal. Or the fact that a hidden camera would be useless considering that two guards are in eyeshot wherever you go in the lodge, save the bathroom, wherever that is.

This part is important, if we aren't watched in the bathroom, and there is no bugs in there, we could do things in there, same for any other rooms. Unfortunately, I don't think our bug searching ability is the best, so I still wouldn't trust it.
Also, why search for bugs if there are guards? Simple, if we are going to kill/knock out the guards, and there is no bugs, then no one will know we did so until the guards fail to report in. This gives us a window to escape, or possibly do something else.

I love the fact that you're thinking this deeply into it, but you're thinking too deeply into it. Regardless, it's pointless to bug the lodge, as a bug is only useful when listening into a conversation, or tracking something. And besides, they would have no reason to bug their own building, unless they were incredibly paranoid.

I rolled a 1d100 for the ability to find the bug. Even after adding everything up, the DR was 95. You had a 5% chance to do it.
-
Regardless, keep up the good work, every vote helps. Also, you do realize you're still in the tutorial now, right?

Also just stating "Do a thorough sweep of the room" will cover this, for future reference. If you elaborate on what exactly you're looking for, and what the MC is searching through, it'll be a more likely chance for you to find what you're looking for. It you're literally searching everything, however, it adds a drawback. There will be situations where searching the entire room simply won't be an option, as there will be a time limit. Just know that the more detailed a search of a room is, the longer it takes.

CIA, remember.;)

Then we must keep trying!

Of course, but we don't really have to worry about it in this situation.

Get into the habit early. It isn't paranoia if you can reasonably infer that someone will be out to get you at some point.

What if someone was betraying them, and killed/made deals/whatever there? They'd have evidence.

*sigh*

You're literally a new agent who's not yet even completed a mission, let alone made anyone's shitlist. Except maybe your childhood bully.

I don't think the CIA has made us do anything to earn the ire of "other people" to make them target us. We'd be really unlucky to be targeted before we actually did anything.

Are you telling me that the CIA does NOT have tons of enemies that wish to take out their agents?

Not their noobs. You're literally an agent not worth anyone's time or effort. There are agents much more dangerous than yourself that the CIA's enemies could be going after.

Still, better to check a hundred times and only find danger once, then never check and die when the danger comes.

Also, what is Devon's last name?

What that is called, is paranoia. Which is as equally deadly to a spy as being complacent.

Checking every so often, or when you have a hunch, is called being smart.

Or you know, maybe it's the opposite.

I guess I'll just follow Dark's vote for now. Seems the best, currently.

Extremes are bad.
But i feel this is still justifiable. We have plenty of time, and privacy is nice
Edit: why not

I'll leave votes open for a while longer, if somebody decides they want this to play a different way. We have about one more update before we leave the tutorial. Or before an explosion. Whichever ends up being more interesting.
