If we are spy, we DON'T want a family. As the GM pointed out earlier, famlies get threatened and become a point of weakness. If we don't have a family, they can't manipulate us with it, or kill/kidnap them because of us.

Lone wolves are just wolves that were cast out, who search for a new home. I'm not honestly sure how that whole "Lone Wolf" saying came to be, because wolves are naturally social creature. A lone wolf dies rather quickly, because a wolf all on it's own can't take down prey much bigger than a hare, and they eventually starve.
Wolves have a pack mentality, nipping at the heels of their prey as a collective until it gets weak. It's how they take down things much bigger than themselves. Otherwise the deer they normally hunt might simply trample them.
