All Aboard The Magic Hellbus! Let's Play Limbus Company

Interesting thing about GOutis is that in her s3 she sprouts the same kind of pale tendrils Thomas did in Gregs recollection so we can assume that those were a real sideffect and not just something counjured by Gregors poor tortured mind.

She also fights entirly by pointing and shouting (and psychic bug powers) when she has biceps that provides more fanservice than 99% other gacha. Shes also the only smoking (hot) Outis id, which gives name to the smoke war as it was entirely fought by smokers. If you didn't even show up with a vape everyone would stop fighting and look at you awkwardly and even that was a faux pas.

pairs really well with ids like Cinq don and Hook Lu, ive heard.

G Corp. Outis was a very popular ID back in the earlier days of Hard Mirror Dungeons since she was a 00 who could clash in the range of EGO skills with her S3 and that was really all that mattered back then.

also, i should note, the other sinner whos base egos sin requirements dont match the affinity is everyones faverote enigma in the rough shape of a man, meursault.
his, Chains Of Others, is Pride but requires Gloom, Envy, and Sloth, witch he fuels... noticably better then Gregor? like, he has two out of three of those sins on his base id, and the eyes in his ego art mirror something kinda spoilary in library of ruina.

→ Those maggots squirmed harder than I expected when I scorched 'em with my cigarette. Does this count as intel? (Gregor)

I thought it was Ryoshu saying that. Another moment of solidarity?

Nah, it's Gregor. Ryoshu, while smoking a Cig, usually keeps her comments either short, or will use the funny abbreviations she likes so much.

They're probably using the very useful website, that lists every abnormality log, and who they're written by.

As I understand it each sinner has a distinct speech pattarn that makes it obvious who's writing what thats not easily translated to english (polite speach and such lingustic quirks) so we have a good idea of all the autors of the logs even if they're namless.

It's firmly not. Gregor is the writer for all the Golden Apple's logs, and that comes from the third log, where Gregor explicitly got so angry remembering that it killed Yuri that he stopped writing any actionable intelligence and started just venting into the log, whereupon Faust takes away the pen and Gregor records one last bitter comment.

Golden Apple Observation Log Level 2 said:
…[What appears to be foul words are scribbled out.]. This is why you put me in charge of the observation?
Did you know this crap would happen and…
Yeah, no. There's no way you could have…
None of us could, this was our first time.
Gah… When I blew that golden apple up, it split open.
Then some [What appears to be foul words are scribbled out.]ed branches popped out of the crack, and… That thing, that bastard…
It took Yuri…
And with that new nutrient, a swarm of maggots piled up inside…
"Metamorphosing" into a hideous face.
Haha, funny, isn't it. I was feeling a sense of kinship with that crawler. I guess it's because we were both pests…
Realizing that, I just couldn't stay calm. I had to tear that detestable face apart to find peace.
And then, and then...
→ Gregor was struggling to maintain his cool in his writing, so I relieved him of his pen. He didn't have much else to offer in terms of information, anyway. (Faust)

Faust says that she took away his pen, though.

Vergilius really got on my nerves last update. You send in a team with little to no information about the mission, a team who has only started working together like, what, two days ago, and then go pikachu faced when they fail the objective.

But man, this was really bleak for a starting arc for a gacha game. Even when the death flags were fairly obvious, the deaths still hit, especially with how brutal they are, all for an unclear and perhaps pointless objective. As someone said, it seems like it's the game showing you what kind of story it will be, so you can always quit right there if you don't think you will enjoy it.

It's incredibly compelling, I can understand why Hpkins is hated by the fandom so much. Just reading the condensed summary of it made me want to write a fanafic where Yuri survives and joins the Company (a premise I assume is very popular).

Speaking of compelling, this dungeon expedition really fleshed out the characters for me. The intros on the bus showed off a lot of their personalities to me, but not all of them. For example, I didn't really get the evil vizier/rat vibes from Outis in her intro, but her subsequent actions in the dungeon made me get it. Ishmael, Heathcliff, and ofc George were great standouts, and I'm looking forward to seeing more of the other Sinners. Yi Sang and Hong Lu are the ones so far I have no real feelings towards because I don't grok their deals so far, but at least they aren't Meursault lmao. Dude completely disappeared.

And this is such a bizarre world. How did these companies get access to hell? Is it science or magic that runs things?

(I am still not sure what Qlippoth Deterrance is. My brainrotted Type-Moon brain makes me think of the Counter Force but that can't be it.)

both, probably! how does that work? i dunno!
as for the second stuff, you know stuff like telakill alloy or reality anchors from the SCP foundation? its like that, its a field that makes abnos less murdery.

Based on the fact that the Abnormality was WAW level, the second highest risk level, yet the Sinners were able to kick it's teeth in and it wasn't able to warp the world around it into a matching altered reality like the EGO can do, I assume that it weakens them in some capacity, maybe fucking with their ability to use their esoteric abilities?

yeah, basicly. dont know much about how it works, its thought that it may eminate from golden boughs but that doesnt seem very likely to me?

They are however, connected at the very least.
As we continue our assignment in collecting more Golden Boughs, the deterrence will weaken as well. Although this was a simple battle...
As collecting a Golden Bough weakens the deterrence... everywhere??? It's honestly not clear how collecting one Bough weakens the deterrence across the whole city so "the Boughs are the Deterrence" is a good a theory as any.

Fun fact. Golden Boughs aren't mentioned as being a thing during any previous Project Moon work. The loading screens mention them being found in abandoned Lobcorp branch facilities but it's probably fair to say they're unique to these locations.

Of course, Lobcorp HQ is in The Outskirts so it's unlikely anyone has checked there lately.

There is a pretty solid theory for why the Boughs might be a collective rather then a localized effect, but it involves endgame Lobcorp stuff. Thus ir's a bit beyond Thread Rules and I don't think anything in Limbus proper gives me license to talk about it here.

i mean, that theory has... some ground to stand on, but what about the other thing SPOILERS was definintly used for?

Really good analysis of this Canto and the concepts introduced and developed in it. I think the discussions of the horror lens and EGO mechanics are especially insightful. That corrosion state spotlighted for Gregor is so much, goddamn.

Aye. In the main branch. Which is part of why I think that the Boughs are connected actually. If each branch had a 'Goldem Bough' on site they could be self sufficient along with having a link to HQ.

Though I feel like if we try to seriously discuss this part (and it is a genuine weakness of the theory) then we'll cross the spoiler line.

It's even worse since this isn't just a better Zayin, it's arguably his most generally useful EGO. Hell, it's fully fueled by his best generalist ID. Gregor gets to spend a lot of time resonating with the worst abno (seen so far).

Unfortunately, context for most of his actions lie within the Leviathan web novel, which is set between Limbus and Library of Ruina. Anything else counts under the spoiler rule.

Apologies.

Edit: Cutting this paet thay was way more passive aggressive then intended. Regardless. I seemed to have included stuff from later in Levisthan by accident.

Regardless, I'll hold my tongue better.
