Alchemical Solutions [Worm/Exalted] Thread 2: Bullsh*t Magical Robot Girl

changing my vote to this:

Pick'n mix plan

[x] Goal: Get some suitable gear and a costume ready for the reveal.
- [x] Stunt: Grab and integrate some non-lethal weapons into yourself consisting of tasers, tranquiliser dart guns, a net launcher and a bean-bag/rubber bullet gun.
- [x] Stunt: Check which costume styles are available and what possible upgrades you can make for them.

[x] Goal: Practice coordinating your powers with your team-mates, it'll be good practice.
- [x] Stunt: Start with coordinating with ranged attacks first. See if Kid Win or Gallant can help you with this.
- [x] Stunt: Aegis should be able to help you practice moving in coordination in a melee, see if he'll help you.
- [x] Stunt: Vista has a lot of tactical positioning flexibility with her spatial warping. See if she'll agree to figuring out some sort of tag-team attack between your powers and hers.

[x] Goal: Begin to craft spidersilk clothing.
- [x] Stunt: Start with something simple, like the clothes we promised the cheerleaders. Use this as practice, and to get an idea about how much silk we'll likely need for the various costumes, research various weaving-patterns or techniques that might improve their protective qualities, and so on.
- [x] Once we have a better ideas of the quantities of silk involved, do some math, such as finding out how many Darwin Bark Spiders we're supposed to get, and how quickly we can reasonably expect to make more costumes/clothes with just their silk. From there, work out how to make the most of all available resources, both DB spiders, and those native to Brockton Bay, and get started.

[X] Goal: Get comfortable with the Wards as a group, both in and out of costume
- [x] Stunt: Try to set-up a joint training session with all the Wards, and practice cycling Hypercalibration Benediction between them, and test what effect it has on their powers and abilities. Defer to Aegis as leader, and follow his advice for how to do this.
- [x] Stunt: Invite everyone to Sunday lunch, and cook. Try to get them talking about their own introduction as Wards, and admit you're a bit nervous.

[x] Goal: Get in touch with Panacea?
-[x] Armsmasters plan has you considering other biological tinker projects, obviously Panacea's time is extremely valuable, but maybe you could offer to build New Wave some tinker equipment in exchange.
-[x] Even if they are broken up at the moment maybe Dean could pass your offer along through Glory Girl.

[x] Goal: Finish off the weekend with some relaxation and socialising.
- [x] Stunt: You haven't spoke to Dad in a while, so make sure to take some time to speak with him.
- [x] Stunt: You should do something nice. Organise a lunch cook-off and invite anyone you can think of, including Director Piggot for politeness' sake, even if she won't accept the invitation.
- [x] Stunt: Spend time with everyone, get to know your fellow Wards, other PRT personnel, other Protectorate if they join in.
- [x] Stunt: Spend time with everyone, get to know your fellow Wards, other PRT personnel, other Protectorate if they join in. Maybe watch a movie with the Wards, or play some videogames, see if some of the Protectorate members like Miss Militia, Assault, or the like might be willing to tell us some stories about their time as heroes, that sort of thing.
- [x] Stunt: See if you can take something down to Dad as well. I'm sure he'd appreciate something home-cooked.

[X] Blackout's Plan
[X] Goal: Get our costume and gear ready.
- [X] Stunt: First impressions are important, generally take the time to make sure everything is at tip-top shape before we go for the public reveal.
- [X] Stunt: Grab and integrate some non-lethal weapons into yourself consisting of tasers, tranquilizer dart guns, and a containment foam grenade launcher (if we are allowed one).
- [X] Stunt: Check which costume styles are available and what possible upgrades you can make for them.

- [X] Stunt: Choose the one that looks the most professional and would work best with your true form. You may be smoking hot, but cheerleading has you showing off enough skin without your hero work being more of the same. If that option doesn't exist, make a placeholder costume to your specifications.
- [X] Stunt: Work with Chris to draw up plans for our suit, but make sure to stay within reasonable limits. Combine those plans with Glenn's prototypes to create a placeholder suit that looks superficially similar to what we will be planning to eventually use full-time, but is only bare-bones version of what we can absolutely be sure will be approved in time and not malfunction in our PR reveal. We won't be going into heavy combat immediately after and the placeholder suit should do fine for our first patrols, so we should focus on making sure we only have gadgets that won't humiliate us and the PRT.
- [X] Stunt: Work with Chris to see if you can't make some sort of variable-power non-lethal energy rifle from his existing projects Once again, it doesn't need to work in optimal capacity or have all of the coolest gadgets we can put in, we need to make sure it is both functional and won't blow up or malfunction, and also superficially similar to what we will eventually be using.
- [X] Stunt: Gather insects ready for the reveal, try to get a reasonable blend of colors but don't go overboard and make a rainbow-swarm either, try to make sure it is also a bit intimidating so that we can project a bit of professionalism. Don't make the swarm too huge, a smaller swarm should do the trick without getting in anyone's way or being too intimidating.
- [X] Stunt: Stay up late into the night if need be, this is seriously important and we can sleep after. Apologize if it disrupts the schedule but reserve the Incomparable Efficiency Upgrade for work on getting ready, we need to do our everything to make sure nothing goes wrong.
- [X] Stunt: Try to make sure everything is ready by Sunday afternoon and then go to sleep early, we want to be awake and fresh for our reveal.

[X] Goal: Begin weaving spidersilk.
- [X] Stunt: Put some spiders on it and check on them periodically, but don't use all of our time on them. Clothes for the cheerleaders are secondary to our public reveal. First priority goes to our costume.

[X] Goal: Make sure our Dad is OK.
- [X] Stunt: Take a few hours to talk to him and bring him up to speed on our life. Tell him about the friends we've made in both school and the Wards, it should make him feel better. Tell him how we've been enjoying our life here, and about how the people are nice here, every parent likes to hear that their children are happy.
- [X] Stunt: Don't go overboard either, if we make him feel that we weren't happy with our life with him, he may react badly. Tell him we miss him and that we wish we could spend more time with him.

[X] Goal: Socialize with the Wards.
- [X] Stunt: Spend time with them, eat takeout and watch a movie. Apologize to them that you can't go to Fugly Bob's with them unmasked, check the possibility of all going in costume but don't pressure anyone to do it.
- [X] Stunt: Ask them about their public reveals, find out what questions are likely to be asked and make sure you have the answers ready beforehand.

No idea what you expect us to do on the second. Gromweld already said that we can stunt what we have internalized via TIE, so any mundane tools we might need, we'll have more likely than not. Anything else is mostly bureaucracy.
I disagree. There's loads we can do. I put them in the first of my two proposed plans. The main ones are:

1) Developing a theme that Glenn would approve of and synergises with what he's suggested already, so he's more likely to approve tech consistent with that.
2) Pirating hologram/disguise tech
3) Building some weapons. I suspect Glenn would value consistency, so it would be easier to get a category of equipment approved upfront rather than change our image later.
4) Learning from what the other Wards felt, and how they survived the attention.
5) Simply rehearsing it all in advance. This worked with the reporters before, and made it much easier. Let's learn from that.
6) Take some control of events, and show we're not just a piece, such as with black balling the channel 12 reporter. That will pay off in spades later.
Kelenas said:
The third is entirely out of our hands. We might get an idea how things are going, but we already did everything we could with our agreements with the PRT.
Three things.

1) Simply human decency. We should care about our father, and be interested in what's happening to him.
2) We can calm him down and explain what's going to happen so he doesn't have an outburst in court that ruins everything.
3) We can be a shining exemplar of compliance with the deal so they have every incentive to keep their side of it.

Could people please reconsider including this. I suspect it will backfire badly.

We need to consider what Glenn's image management is meant to achieve. Simply professional is very much not what we want here. We need to minimise how threatening we appear, and that does not help.

If Glenn wants to make a shout-out to our cheerleader costume, consider why that is. It could well be the best choice. We need to at least stunt thinking about this rather than mindlessly rejecting it.

[x] sun tzu' Plan: The Human Factor

[x] Goal: Keep connecting with the PRT
-[x] Stunt: There's bound to be some divide between the Protectorate parahumans and PRT "grunts". Try to take an interest in their lives, make friends, be a friend.
-[x] Stunt: Piggot isn't a touchy-feely person, but she cares about getting the job done. See what we can do to make her job smoother (...that she won't object to).

[x] Goal: Check in with Sally
-[x] It shouldn't be that hard to to find her home phone number via a phone book or the internet
-[x] Check in to see how she's doing and let her know you don't blame her for what happened with the locker.

[X] Goal: Try to reconnect with our father and make him happier about our choices
- [X] Stunt: Use Incomparable Efficiency Upgrade to get up to date with the progress of our father's case. Tell Dragon that you don't want her to break any confidences, but we'd like to know what the status is.
- [x] Stunt: Try to arrange to call our father every day, and arrange a meeting on Sunday. If need be, tell Piggot that you'd be much less stressed about the big reveal and press conference if you've had chance to speak to him first. Try to arrange taking some of your own 'home' cooking to him (volunteering to give it to the techs to check) and have the meeting be a lunch.

[x] Goal: Finish off the weekend with some relaxation and socialising.
- [x] Stunt: You should do something nice. Organise a lunch cook-off and invite anyone you can think of, including Director Piggot for politeness' sake, even if she won't accept the invitation.

I still think it's massively premature to start voting.

We have at least 3 easily accessible MMs. Soulsteel, which we can stunt leaving behind when deactivating our disguise, moonsilver, which we can get by training ourselves to cry on demand, and whatever our blood is made of. Otherwise we can get just about every per MM by surgically removing parts of ourself and then waiting for regeneration. Sure that option is insanely squicky to both ourself and others but it is there.
Exalts are explicitly forbidden from using parts of their bodies as exotic ingredients. MMs are a subtype of exotic ingredient.

Think we could make one? How about something like.

"One hundred bugs each a different type, and a prime and healthy, arranged in a perfect circle."

If our bugs ran on Exalted motonic physics are were made of Essence, perhaps. Given that they're not I'm not optimistic. Perhaps we could convert them if we keep channelling our charms through them.

We could also experiment with the silk produced by spiders commanded by our powers, as that might count.

Probably have to have GM rulings at this point tbh.

how about something like this then

- [x] Stunt: Choose the one that looks the least threatening and would work best with your true form. Perhaps a variation on your cheerleader uniform to better dazzle the male criminals and put them off guard without terrifying them and any bystanders.

I'm much more interested in us trying to reverse engineer Glenn's intentions IC and using that as a basis to decide on the trade off between strategic and tactical concerns.

It's less what costume we end up with, and more how we make the choice to get there. I think the current proposals that are being voted for has awful implications about our mentality. It's more sulky teenager-ness raising its head again.

[X] Plan Veekie

[X] Total Time Budget :32 hours(Goal 1 16h, Goal 2 1-4h, Goal 3 8h, Goal 4 4h)
[X] Goal 1: Prepare equipment for our first week out
[X]- Send an email to Glenn regarding our plans for the costume. Whatever our plans, we should at least keep him informed so he can work that into his plans instead of finding out after the fact
[X]-- Go with a compromise between his most acceptable design and our proposed costume. In the miraculous event that he has an outfit that's more than a 50% match for our proposal, just use that design with minor tweaks.
[X]-- Get some opinions from Missy on the design. The boys are going to be completely no help here.

[X]- Get Kid Win, Dragon and Armsmaster's help if they can be spared. Kid Win should be available and more than glad to help, but to ensure availability, contact all three well ahead of time so they can schedule us some attention.

[X]- Get to work on the idea that Kid Win mooted, to create mini attack drones incorporating his stunning weaponry and anti-grav that can be operated through insect pilots. Try to make at least four as proof of concept, but more is naturally better.
[X]-- Each drone is to have three basic weapons, a high intensity flashlight, one of Kid Win's electric charge-packet stun guns and a dart launcher, to be loaded with PRT approved tranquilizers afterwards.
[X]-- Prepare each drone with mounts for detachable decorative panels for the outer casing. We'd go with highly visible polished metal panels for PR reasons, but have the drone underneath be in camouflage friendly colors in case of emergencies.

[X]- Duplicate Kid Win's wingsuit design with spidersilk, customized to our costume design. If Kid Win hadn't managed to get his suit approved yet, leave out the antigrav for now but keep a socket for the unit. We'd need a bit of practice if we want to avoid plowing into a wall like he did anyway.
[X]-- Incorporate a support frame for pocket-space drone docks. Remember to test the interactions of pocket-space storage with the Technomorphic Integration Engine to avoid potentially embarassing interactions. Build it so that the fabric can be easily replaced for when we get the new spiders.

[X]- Get armed personally with a stun rifle, stun pistol, tazer and a foam dispenser
[X]-- Check out the PRT approved armory for any useful grenades(like smoke or flashbangs) and put some into storage.

[X]- Use up to four hours of overtime if it's necessary to fit the other Tinkers' schedules or finish working before the end of Saturday so that we have more time for approval to process.

[X]- Submit all the items for verification, with documentation of the underlying technology used. Since pretty much everything is based off already proven tech, approval should be fairly fast.

[X]- Check back in on Glenn after everything else, to get any final advice for presenting ourselves.

[X]- Get some work done on spidersilk cheerleading outfits in any time spent waiting. They won't take much attention after all.

[X]- Familiarize with the new equipment, at least so we aren't going embarass ourselves.

[X]- Needless to say use Incomparable Efficiency Upgrade liberally to fit it all in the time available

[X]- Spend any leftover time duplicating drones and making the cheerleading outfits.

[X]- War +1 4XP
[X]- Craft +1 4XP if we get enough training on it during the weekend

Projected time consumption: 8 hours(drones) + 4 hours(costume and weaponry) + 4 hours(practice and approval) = 16 hours

Relevant citation for drones:
You suggest cribbing some of Armsmaster's tech (which you feel you can do because he owes you big right now) to miniaturize the anti-grav projectors, and he follows the idea by suggesting implementing some of the pocket-space tech he has to house an arsenal of floating weapons only limited by your ability to track targets.
[X] Goal 2: The Past
[X]- Get in touch with Danny, get him up to speed on what's going on, and his opinion on things. Find out how his case is doing. The PRT Backing should help here with people to facilitate the necessary paperwork.
[X]- If Danny's business goes smoothly, see about tracking down the Trio. Don't attempt to meet them in private yet, it could complicate Danny's case further.
Projected time consumption: 1-4 hours.

[X] Goal 3: Socializing
[X]- Go have some fun with Missy, just a weekend out to relax and talk.(this is in addition to the next)
[X]- Get to know the other Wards better, we hadn't really spent any time around them aside from Kid Win and Vista.
[X]-- Going out for food together would be good, but if that's not possible(due to identity concerns) a shared training session could help too.
Projected time consumption: 8 hours

[X] Goal 4: Make contact with our favorite cosmic nerd
[X]- Meditate to try and reach Autochton and clear our head.
[X]-- Check out how Essence works while we meditate if possible. There might be a similar connection between us and the Maker as we do with the bugs.
Projected time consumption: 4 hours

[X] Plan Veekie

Looks good to me, except for tracking down the trio. I think it would be best if we just forgot about them and stop letting them be a factor in our life, like Taylor did in canon.

It's mainly an afterthought thing to use the time while trying to reach Danny. "Wonder what happened to them". Avoided making contact though, I figure we can do that at leisure after the trials.

Guys, lets not get Taylor to stay awake for the next forty-eight hours, it'll wind up hurting our efforts over all.

Time available: 2 days * 24 hours = 48 hours
Time spent: 32 hours(possibly -4 hours if we need that much time to craft)
Time left: 16 hours /2 days = 8 hours of sleep per day

:)

That's just the time spent on costume, there's all the other stuff you threw in as well.
Costume:32 hours
Socializing: 8 hours
Meditating: 4 hours
Danny/Trio: 1-4 hours.

This leaves a maximum of three hours to sleep total.
