Alchemical Solutions [Worm/Exalted] Thread 2: Bullsh*t Magical Robot Girl

Hah.

Funny, but it seemed like too much of a risky move -- it actually screwed over communications entirely, which is dangerous and what if some disaster struck and they needed communications?

It also, well, just doesn't seem subtle enough because it goes over the line to being actual sabotage.

Remember, the choices that Glenn would have made for the costume are for good reasons. He does not choose them to torture us for the lulz. Unless they compromise our survival, we've little real reason not to follow the expert's advice, and play our small part in helping him save the world.
You know, I can't help but feel that people in the Worm fandom tend to vastly overestimate Glenn. Which, admittedly, does indicate some skill at PR on his part.

Still, we would do well to keep in mind that Glenn's strategy is failing. It's been failing for decades by now, and it will continue to fail in the future.

Ah, hm...

Do you think we can ask Armsmaster and Dragon for a copy of their Endbringer Prediction Program?

EDIT: And on one thought. If we're doing a Prayer to Autochthon... How about spending a point of Willpower to either get 1 automatic success or something?

I don't recall an HUD link system? Though Dragon probably has something like that.

And while the 6x Int speed is great, we're talking about a computer program rather than a human.

Amusing, although for such blatant revenge I prefer the Solar Bureaucracy charm that purges all evidences of his existence and role in the PRT with holy sunfire and compels anyone who knows otherwise to not talk about it.

Back in Update 2.1, we were actually told that Glenn's strategy for the Wards was succeeding. The rest of the PRT, less so.

Prayer is a Charisma + Performance roll with a difficulty of 7 - the value of the sacrifice you're making in Resources dots.

As we're not making a sacrifice that means that to succeed we need to get seven successes when we roll. That's... unlikely, to say the least.

Our base pool is a single dice. If we get a two die stunt upgraded to three as it's in line with our motivation, that's four. If the sculpture counts as Exceptional equipment, that's five. If we can somehow finagle channeling Conviction, that's another four, for a total of nine. Seven successes on nine dice is a very big ask.

Now, for next time, our Backing gives us virtual Resources 1, which we could use to buy incense to burn while we meditate, which would reduce the number of successes we need to six.

Note that the difficulty is due to the need to get the gods attention. If they're actually paying attention or deliberately listening out for someone, then they can hear even the most simple of prayers.

Now, whether Autochthon can do that as well is unknown, but if he can, and he's listening out for Taylor, then even the most basic "prayers" to him will reach him. And that's not even counting the potential of other, possibly stranger things, like Taylor having a direct "link" straight to Autochthon.

On cyborg insects, honestly it's a lot of effort for limited gain, since most candidates have short lifespans and require a refit each time, compared to fully replaceable insect pilots for drones and the like. We COULD use the insects as extra eyes and ears for a super HUD though. But even that can be worked with a datapod manned by bugs.
