Alchemical Solutions [Worm/Exalted] Thread 2: Bullsh*t Magical Robot Girl

So maybe weblike circuit patterns for the glowy bits, and having the 'wings' be L-shaped to evoke spider legs?

I was tinkering around with a dress-up doll game of all things and this was the result. Sinse Gom was saying PR was wanting Taylor to have a skirt, I was trying to figure out how that would work. Ignore the heals, and imagine the wings were butterfly/dragonfly wings.
So that outfit with this set of wings?

And a bigger chest.

I'm actually in favor of Fortune City. I think the hair, lack of halo, and mechanical wings make us look a lot more human than the War Fairy would.

I like fortune city too, but how would we integrate a skirt into that?

Click, Set fortune city as desktop wallpaper.
This was the only thing that came close to what I have in mind, but imagine it in metal and without the Wonder Woman theme:

Maybe something that looks like someone who weaves clothing? Or a 'tailor.'
...I have even less idea of how to represent that.

Anyway, I think we're going at this the wrong way. What we should is have the costume in layers.

So here's my idea: the bottom layer is the "business" layer, a fullbody suit made of silk, with armored parts attached for protection, and so we can add new equipment to it. Over that, we have tight but flexible dress, from which a coloured part at the chest area, front and back, where it's most armored, with legs extending out through the dress from both of them, eight each. From each of the "legs", lines are spread-out, crisscrossing across the entire dress.

Perhaps have one "spider" yellow, and one blue?

Worst come to worst, we can go with a cheerleading image.

we were already promised less restrictions on our costume, dropping the skirt wouldn't be too much of a stretch.
Couldn't we just put a detachable miniskirt over whatever bodysuit our outfit is? It's more or less just like sticking a few more frills or ribbons on. The only danger is if someone grabs it, and if it tears away easily that risk is gone.

The skirt is really totally unimportant. It's not worth spending political capital on. Being allowed to use energy guns and similar is simply a vastly higher priority.

After all, Taylor is Exalted, wearing a skirt makes precisely zero impact on her combat effectiveness. She could wear high heels and it would be pretty much irrelevant. It's similar to why she doesn't need a helmet or a mask.

We don't need a full bodysuit, or anything like that either. Armour doesn't actually have to cover us to provide protection. Practicality is not a factor here. Only aesthetics are

I see Weapons as separate for costume, because they should be. we'll be allowed ranged weapons because our powers make use exceptional at ranged combat and guns aren't 'horrifying' like insects.
Beam guns at least. Minors armed with 'real' firearms are harder for image than tinkertech colorful plastic light shooters.

Something came to me earlier today.

What if, one of the Shard sub-modules is something that let's us ignore Clarity? Or at least the negative aspects of it.

Clarity is supposed to be us becoming more in tune with Auto-kun's thoughts, am I correct?
What if it allows us to have that understanding of him, but without loosing our humanity (such as it is) in order to translate for him? Make it easier for humans to understand him, and him to understand them?
I think the Shard is a direct conversion from Taylor's own parahuman shard, which means the three submodules would probably be:
-Enhanced multitasking and subconscious bug control submodule. Manages the bugs input and movement subconsciously when our full attention is otherwise occupied. Basically an autonomous drone upgrade, we may have seen some of this during the cheerleading when the charm activated itself.
-Parahuman power coordination submodule. Bonus to coordinating attacks between parahumans, fighting parahumans and intuiting power combos.
-A locked control type expansion submodule for directly taking over the administration of any creature. Or maybe just shards.

Why? They're both integral parts of how the public perceives us. If wearing a skirt links us more closely to the cheerleader image, so softens how we'll be perceived, ten we may have the slack to get away with using a gun more. And by gun, I mean energy stun blaster that's as un-gun like as possible.

In fact, as there is no downside to wearing a skirt, and apparently it has benefits in the bigger picture, why wouldn't be wear it anyway. It doesn't cost us anything to do so and it apparently gains us/the world something.

I have to echo the comments about not even asking for wings. It's just such an epically bad idea that will make us look stupid for mentioning.

I think we shouldn't wear a helmet or mask. Having our face exposed will significantly help to humanise us.

On colours, I'd say whites and blues. An impression of innocence, something that underplays our apparent age and makes us look more like a teenager would be sensible. We don't want to look adult or edgy if we can help it.

"Have you had a chance to see any of the therapists? The PRT has a few they schedule us to see once a week, and I'm pretty sure I would have really blown up at Dennis or Chris a long time ago if it didn't help at least a little bit."

You nod, thinking back on your meetings with Dr. Yamada and Dr. Henderson.

"I've only really talked about my dad and the bullying so far in the two times I've gone. I have another appointment with Dr. Yamada on Saturday, so maybe I'll bring it up then."

"Oh! Dr. Yamada is awesome, she'll totally understand if you want some time to think about it more or talk about it later. She's my favorite of the three."
Hm. Do we either have spare time for therapy, or are we going to skip Saturday's visit?

When we get the chance, I really want to start work on insect cyborgs. It would be very nice to essentially use them as brain computer interfaces by directly wiring a load of insects' brains to a computer. That way we could simultaneously access the Internet, monitor thousands of radio frequencies, talk to our team mates over the radio, or, more ambitiously, even control androids that have our appearance, or computer controlled manufacturing mills/3d printers. This would also massively increase our range of control, as we could have cyborg insects within our control range communicate with fully electronic drones outside it by radio (or other tinker tech signal). That would possibly allow us to patrol the city even when we're at school.

Cyborg insects that were more than just a brain would also allow us to remote control our silk farms from school.

In summary, this should be a priority.

Didn't Grom say something to the effect that, while we have them, we need to be at a higher Essence to use them?

Or was I misremembering or misunderstanding?
We don't have enough motes to activate them. We either need higher Essence, the charm that gives you more motes, or to indulge in hearthstone skinmount cheese.
