Argent and Purple
Seventeenth Day of Elnu-Hamba (Elnu Descendent), 1349 A. L. (After Landfall)
As you watch the molten silver pour from the crucible from steady hands to new-made mold you wonder at what might have been, at the power you had just surrendered. In that you are not alone you know, Antonio had been quietly asking how much you would be able to get out of healing illness and curses. If seeking a curse-breaker in Orinilu had taught it anything it seems it was that such powers commanded high prices indeed. Esha had been reserved in the matter, obviously still wondering if you had made the right choice herself, Zaia had not been: 'What worth a pouch of silver to a man without a head?'
The point was well made, but still you cannot help but wonder. There had been more talk of water daemons today, a reminder that not all the evil had gone from the island, that on the journey back east you could meet more of those with the power to sicken and to curse you and all in your company and so you wonder still, what can you do about those ills that are more lasting than the blow of a sword? Suddenly the enormity of what you are thinking occurs to you... You had seen skilled swordsmen made paupers by the loss of a hand, cut off before it could rot and men with bones set poorly who would never walk without pain and all the other specters of war of which warriors rarely speak and now you bemoan the notion that you are not to be spared sickness also with a few waves of the hand... perhaps you have done Antonio a disservice in your thoughts and your greed is in truth greater than his.
Thankfully for her part Aina is generous, offering to the Fellowship twelve
nuari of silver, traditional ingots in the shape of a loaf of bread that are handed out by the kings and queens of the islands when the reward is too heavy to be braided into beards or hair. It comes out at about four parts in ten of all the silver being smelted and more than half of all the wealth of the Fellowship of saint Nicholas according to Antonio.
Gained 8,000 gp
"Need to watch that like a hen with a fresh chick," Tom mumbles under his breath as the chests are brought out into the harsh light of midday and not without reason, there are more than enough foxes about. It is not that you think every Anwari is a pirate, just that all the ones bearing arms would not object to turning to it for the right price.
Now that the city is as peaceful as it is liable to get and most of the servants of the daemons are either dead or fled it is time you think to think about the long journey east. Other ships are not as pressed, their journey nowhere near as long, but before you sail with the tide the good captain is of course looking for a bargain. In his mind a man who sails with an empty hold deserves an empty pouch.
So it is that you are invited to attend the queen, hardly remarkable on its own... but the invitation is for yourself alone, something that you would have called a scandal in the lands of your birth, though the Awa are more free with the companionship of men and women and there are certainly plenty of good reasons why Aina would seek your company before you depart: for counsel, to give thanks personally, to offer some news of the evils that had come here that she does not wish to make the talk of the city. Yet you cannot quite keep from being uneasy at the prospect. The day before a parting does not good counsel bring...
It would probably be easier to deal with the prospect if Esha did not find it a fair target for japes and such advice as: 'Just don't promise to wed her and you should be fine,' he offers in parting drawing poorly hidden laughter from some of the younger men on guard.
Silver on the other hand offers more practical advice: "I could come along, it would be a simple enough slip of the mind to explain."
How do you go to meet Aina?

OOC: A bit of a short one, light on assassins and such... but that does not mean poor Roland is out of the woods yet
