[x] A pair of crossbows standing of three legs which can be fired with a word needing no hand to pull the pin, potent weapons for the Marcella

A man's home is his castle, and our ship have been our home long enough to count.

[x] Ipsit's left hand which had blasted you with fire

Having high-damaging spells on demand is nice, assuming we can find a way to recharge the device.

No preferences as for the other two. Something for the good doctor to tinker with?

[x] Ipsit's spell book containing his arcane lore and experiments

Alchemists have an archetype for that too, or Zai could simply have a feat
The Alchemist Archetype sucks.
Extremly so.
You sacrifice Bombs and Potions, so basically everything that makes an Alchemist.
Edit: Also Mutagen

And even if he does take the feat (at level 5, with 2 prerequisite feats), as an Alchemist he lacks many of the Wizard spells required for common constructs.

The question is, how would any of us use it? For that matter, who among our company would be willing to make the sacrifice (I presume that it would need to be attached in place of one's arm) in order to wield it?

Zaia might like an arm that will not start shaking as he ages...

I definitly want the Spellbook for our Arcanist and for Zaia. Everything else is secondary.

You could also try to take it apart for study or try to make a weapon out of it, but that would need feats you do not have for the moment. Still it is one of the ways you could gain those feats, though study of an enchanted object like this and then some experience.

Lots of great rewards here, though some are of more obvious value or immediate use than others. Here are my thoughts on each.

[] A chunk blood red obsidian carved into the form of a human heart, the thing is surprisingly warm almost pleasant to the touch

This is probably a really great item, if we had any idea what to do with it. Or it's something awful that will draw unwanted attention merely through possession of it. Either way, the uncertainty makes me wary.

[X] Ipsit's spell book containing his arcane lore and experiments

Hell yeah, this is a great reward. Ipsit was an experienced Wizard who obviously had a good selection of spells. Not only can Esha learn from this, but it will be a good resource to draw from in the future. It will likely help Zaia further his studies into magic, too.

[] Books and sketches on anatomy and the workings of gears and and pistons, the craft of his false men

Probably really valuable to the right people, not to mention containing information compiled through horrific experimentation upon the living and the dead. Not useful to us, however, and more likely than not proscribed knowledge with the church of Ikomi.

[X] Books of alchemy and metallurgy

An excellent reward here, too. Between Zaia and Inge, we have two talented Alchemists among our retinue, but their knowledge of the more esoteric Alchemical creations is currently lacking. This could significantly expand their repertoire, plus advance Zaia's progress towards becoming a true Alchemist.

[X] A pair of crossbows standing of three legs which can be fired with a word needing no hand to pull the pin, potent weapons for the Marcella

Yes! These are legit magic weapons, and powerful ones, too. The firepower will be very much appreciated the next time we get into a tussle at sea, and for our next encounter with the Stout Ones who think they own the Straits of Gibraltar. @DragonParadox, do they also have an Enhancement bonus?

Having these on Marcella also mean we can sometimes worry less about leaving guards behind when we need more men to accomplish a task somewhere.

These would also be a solid reward for Antonio's part in this adventure, since they would primarily be for defending Marcella, though I do wonder if a contraption couldn't be rigged up so that Silver could have a dual voice-activated crossbow turret on his back...

[] Ipsit's left hand which had blasted you with fire
[] Ipsit's right hand which had borne lightning

Again, these are neat and probably valuable, but of little use to us or probably anyone else without access to powerful and rare magic. A long time from now we might find something to do with them, but we might also never manage that. I don't want to end up with a closet full of dusty loot we can't do anything with but are afraid to sale for fear of losing potential value.

[X] Masterwork smithing and alchemy tools of finest glass

The Alchemy tools would be of great help for Inge and Zaia. The +2 Masterwork bonus is no joke, plus finding them elsewhere at this quality will be very expensive and difficult, if not impossible, to find. Glass is rare enough as it is, but Masterwork quality Alchemy tools...it could be an adventure or two just securing them.

The smithing tools, on the other hand, are far from exciting. We could sell or trade them later, though.

They might also be used simply by attaching them where the arm was.

I do believe that we will get usable loot either way.

Edit: And DP has learned from early ASWAH and our loot.

t is not enough, together the three hunters cut his down... cut his apart where he stands.

Beneath the bronze he bleeds red.
You should have surrended in time, Ipsit.

@DragonParadox , do we have enough good standing with Anisi's group and priests of Ikomi to order the interrogation of that fey's skull? If we do not have enough time, we can delay our travel for a bit. This is an important issue.

That's a big gamble for items of questionable value, IMO. I would much rather get stuff that is immediately useful to us with little to no need for research or time investment.

The spellbook is great for Esha and good for Zaia, the Alchemy books are great for Zaia and Inge, and everyone among the crew who will benefit from their creations, the crossbows are great for Antonio and Marcella and the crew in general, and the Alchemy tools are perfect for our needs. Even the smithing tools are a nice bit of kit we can sell or use for trade.

No muss, no fuss, no regret.
@DragonParadox can Inge use the masterwork tools for her alchemy? If not, can they be blessed or are they forbidden completely?
Her Alchemy is normal. It's her potion brewing that needed a special Ikomi-blessed caukdron.

That is an action you can try to do IC.

She can use them fine yeah they are just tools.

Those are errors as well, will fix.
Unobtrusively remind that you still have not fixed these issues yet. They are:
"Do not let the zait alzaaj touch you," the doctor says, even his voice shakes slightly as he turns Louis over, pushing the mangled rotted corpse next to him aside.
We do not have Louis among Men at Arms.

Not long after you find a secluded hollow for Henri to take Jean into, charging the younger man to guard his wounded comrade but sooner hide from peril he must than fight if he should meet it.
Further in the text it was Henri who accomponied us and Nico who remained with Jean.

By the way, The End Of The Arc Is Coming... do you need help with updating "Locations and characters of interest"? I will not handle with descriptional text, but I hope that I'l manage with draft "who is who".

Well books on mechanics includes the mundane stuff, better siege weapons, repeater crossbows, hell it might inspire the concept of steam engines, though the last one would take a while.
Oooh... That might be better than just false-men lore... Still not enough to change my vote.
That said, if there are other ways that one might acquire Alchemy tools, especially high quality ones, that may yet change.

Fixed, as for the places and characters of interest I'll see what I can do. I might have to do a single update or low update day while I get that up.
