Against the Tide - Germany 1932.

While Austria is indeed well within the Italian sphere and protected for now against any German attempts to unite with them, Engelbert Dollfuss has yet to come to power with his brand of Fascism.

Hey, if there's one area the Italian government has always excelled in, it's corruption!

Are they good at it? Or are they Venezuela?

You have, unfortunately, run into funding troubles, thanks to the chaos in Berlin depriving you (for the moment) of funds you'd wanted for this project. You'll have to try again, and twist some arms domestically if you want to get this done.

Funky money. We really needed those funds too. And it seems the Brownshirts got back into the crountry side. Disturbing all of our good non-brown shirts with conspiracy theories no doubt. I bet German!Alex Jones is on there team now.

Also god damn it DNVP the people who like you like the Nazi's better. Do you want to win elections or funking not?

No new paper for new messaging will hurt. But at the very least our own private army is about to get a lot of guns and a heads up about the big game coming up.

I'm glad we got a good roll at formalizing the coalition and great rolls at getting guns. We're actually putting together an army.

French intervention is more likely

If a civil war breaks out it'd certainly be quite the mess when other countries start intervening.

Having almost all of Europe between them and Spain didn't stop Soviet "aid" to the Spanish Republicans during the civil war there, and unlike in Spain they'd be working with an organisation that already has a sizeable, pro-Soviet paramilitary, which also happens to operate mostly close to ports in the North.

Oh yeah, definitely. I simply meant the Red Army itself won't be marching into Germany. Though having said that, the Soviets would probably send an expedition force and "advisors" if civil war broke out.

I mean, it won't be anything on the order of the 3rd Guards Tank Army, but several thousand men with tanks and aircraft are certainly on the table.

Just a reminder to everyone, Hindenburg only relented and appointed Hitler as Chancellor because when the March 1933 elections returned the results, the only possible majority government was a DNVP-NSDAP coalition, which collectively possessed 340(288 and 52 respectively) seats. It changes from election to election as the number of Reichstag seats varies depending on voter turnout, but this election required 324 seats for a majority.

By taking the coalition talks now, we have ensured that if the DNVP does break ranks regardless, they will lose a sizeable chunk of their members in the south thanks to our influence. Reichstag seats are proportioned each election to be roughly 60,000 people per representative, and ignoring what I have just said we would have to knock the Nazis down by just about 1 million votes to ensure Hitler cannot form a government. Historically the NSDAP won about 17.3 million votes this election.

We have a real chance here everyone.

EDIT: ahHHHHHHH I did this late at night sorry and reversed the order of events for Hitler becoming Chancellor >_>
Hitler was historically appointed Chancellor in late January of 1933 not because he had a majority but because any feasible majority would have to include the NSDAP at which point Hitler asked Hindenburg to dissolve the Reichstag and begin a snap election at which point he secured a majority with the DNVP which is distinctly different sorry.

If we can do that and keep people like Thiesen out of Hitlers financial backing then we can starve them out. But we need to talk about who CAN be the President of Germany cause Hindenburg is in no shape to continue.

Dysfunction cannot be our answer either or services across Germany will suffer greatly.

My proposal will be a motion to continue to fund the Government but I'm not sure how that would work.

Also...Communists are still winning elections. Me is afraid.

Out of curiosity how long do you think it'll take to get another turn up?
2-3 days.

It's the collapse of von Schleicher, so it will require a great deal of background information as his government collapses around his ears, and the terminally ill Paul von Hindenburg makes a fateful decision.

How hard would it be to try to get the Stahlhelm and Reichbanner in other states like Wurttemberg and Barden to join the Volksbanner?
Likewise with how hard it would be to get local party chapters in other states to join the DnPB?

It would be quite difficult. The Stahlhelm and Reichsbanner in Bavaria both had the PC to bring them together, and fought, bled, and died alongside one another during the Munich Crisis. That fostered a level of trust that will take a lot of time to replicate elsewhere. It's not impossible, mind, or even necessarily extremely difficult depending on how events play out, but it will be time-consuming.

Your office has, for the past fortnight, been a mecca for the kinds of chaos and clutter you absolutely loathe. Unsanitary work environments will, inevitably, take their toll. It's something you just have to put up with, though, as constant arguments between your ministry, the state government, and Berlin, eat up more and more of your time.

While Rupprecht is sympathetic with your plight, he had also thought he had von Schliecher's word on additional funds to further expand the RVO, under the guise of being a trial run for a potential nation wide roll out. When he pulls the rug out from under you, your hands are tied. What should've been as simple as some paperwork and expansion of offices, as well as releasing of additional funds to clinics and hospitals to ensure their own finances remain stable, turns into a two week long slog, scrabbling for alternate funding models wherever you can find them.

It takes you almost the entirety of the fortnight to do so, and distracts you from your other plan that week, that is, rolling out your rural doctors initiative, but it's worth it. As long as nothing else goes wrong, you'll have the funds lined up to get the expansion going, at least for a little while. Long term funding will be a problem, of course, but that's frankly the case with a lot of what the State Emergency Government is doing.

Bare Failure! You will get a bonus towards this project if you chose to pursue it next turn.

With the endless, hair-pulling frustration of attempting to both get the Government to give you a definitive answer regarding funding for your RVO expansion, followed by the equally frustrating exercise in herding cats that is sitting people who hate each other down for coalition talks, you end up having barely any time at all to dedicate to this project.

And so when you finally find some time in your day to send letters and reach out to the various practices in the countryside, you're hit with news that the brownshirts are still making a nuisance of yourself.

Thank God that this supposed 'National Resistance Force' was no more than an annoying flash in the pan, easily handled by the Crown Prince's men (their efforts further enhanced thanks to some fresh farm goods...). Even if the brownshirts were easily defeated, the various Doctors you've made contact with are incredibly nervous about accepting any help from what their patients might see as "the puppet of socialists". Still, having the Prince behind you is easing some of their concerns, and you're sure that they're just on the edge of being folded into your plans.

Bare Failure! Difficulty of this project decreased for future turns.

You are reaching your wits end with this paper. You're a doctor, not a journalist! You're used to problems that you can diagnose, remedies that you can prescribe. Yes, you've had cases you've struggled with, and God forbid anyone tell you your job is easy, but you can admit that while the human body can be broken or diseased in innumerous ways, at least there's a rhyme and reason to it.

You are sure that reason has never been within a mile of journalism and their damned papers.

Some of the reasons make sense, of course. The offices for your first attempt at a paper were outright attacked by yet another group of Brownshirts, and it was only due to the efforts of your insane friend that it didn't result in any worse than the printing press being smashed beyond salvation.

But all of Germany seems to have turned against you in your efforts to repair or replace the thing! Of course, you can understand people being nervous about the aftermath, but too nervous to even sell you a replacement?

Those you try to get in contact with about ordering a printing press abroad are remarkably apologetic about the whole thing, but their various excuses about how they can't manage to fulfill orders at the current time drive you mad. Even when you try to get in contact with the original makers of your broken printing press, you discover that their company had gone bankrupt while you weren't looking!

It's to your absolute relief when you're finally able to get a hold of a manufacturer in Berlin, so much so that you leave your office and pull Kathe away from her desk with a yelp into a wonderful dance to celebrate the occasion. It's a wonderful feeling that sticks with you while you readily focus on other projects.

At least, until about two weeks later, when your postman nervously tells you that due to a postal strike throughout Brandenburg has halted any packages in or out of Berlin.

Failure! Project delayed by a turn. Franz takes Hugo out for a drink to prevent him from going to Berlin and throttling the Postmaster.

[X] Formalise a coalition

The beer hall is packed to capacity, the main floor having been rearranged so that each part delegation is not pressed up against another. These people have enough issues with one another, without fighting for space on the floor.

The DNVP delegation, who are a potent mixture of disgruntled noblemen, and radical nationalists, are the least happy to be here, predictably. They're only in attendance because you accidentally leaked that this meeting would have your personal endorsement, and the membership threatened to revolt if they didn't attend.

Of course, that over-inflated clown stuffed with walrus fat, Alfred Hughenburg, the nominal leader of the decrepit ruins of a once successful party, has been railing against you in his numerous papers. You'd expected this after last time, as you're not stupid. While your attempts to get a paper of your own to fight back directly have thus far been cursed, Franz has been picking up the slack. You've heard jokes about naming him the 'State Minister for Media and Print', an idea you actually somewhat like the sound of. He's a good man, for a liberal.

The SDP Delegation is, worryingly, the best organised by far. Since their purge of their leftmost members last year, a coalition of Social and Liberal Democrats, as well as Trade Unionists, have been unified in their message of economic justice (One you can, of course, respect, even if you disagree with them in method). They spend much of the opening time of the meeting, before speeches are to be made, and debates to be had, conferring with a group of sympathetic industrialists, and the Crown Prince himself, who spends far more time in their camp than any other.

The BVP Delegation is by far the largest; they control a plurality of ministries, after all, and were the largest party back when the Landtag actually ran the Free State (For a given value of ran). Heinrich Held provides a unifying, if somewhat weak, figure, but the size of his coalition is clearly starting to take a toll on him, as the various wings of the party run the gamut from sympathising with the DNVP, to the SDP, to everything in between. They did, at least, have the foresight to bring a priest to bless their delegation, and are far from rowdy.

The DVP delegation is, speaking of rowdy, rather...out there. A mixture of the managerial class, industrialists, and libertines, all three of which seem to be more interested in partaking in libations and hurling the occasional insult at the SDP, than actually organising themselves for the proper debate on the floor. It doesn't help that Franz, now out of hospital, and cleared for drinking once more, is their nominal leader. You love the man like a brother, but he's always lived life to an extreme you can only imagine will lead to an early grave.

You visit each delegation in turn, chatting with the leadership, the members, and gauging their feelings about all this. Nobody is happy, except for the SDP, which again, worries you. Rupprecht is in high spirits, though. Just before the debates begin, he takes you aside…

===============

"Hah, imagine this. Socialists, National Conservatives, and Liberals, all sitting in a room and being relatively civil. I'd have never believed this could happen." He tells you, as you both make your way up a makeshift podium, swirling his glass of wine as he speaks.

"It wasn't easy. Hours on hours on hours of meetings. Sometimes I worry that I'm trying to talk to a brick wall with these people." He drains his glass as you both find your seats near the podium, placing it under his seat as he chuckles in agreement.

"Oh, of course. When Wilhelm approached me months back about this whole idea. All of this. I thought he was mad. Admirable of course, but mad. And yet, with you at the helm of this organisation, we've done it. We've survived, this far."

"Indeed, but I wouldn't count our chickens before they have hatched. There's still several hours ahead in which things could go wrong."

"With you here, I'm sure things will go fine."

===============

The meeting begins fairly sedately, you give an opening speech preaching the importance of unity that gets a round of applause, followed by the Crown Prince extolling the virtues of what the DnPB has achieved by working together.

Lower unemployment, a reversion to economic growth, and a reduction in crime, all things that every party present can agree is a good thing. Things begin to rapidly start to heat up, though, as the first speeches from each party begin.

You'd set up what you thought was a fair schedule, with each group going in turn, in order of their number of seats in the Landtag, but from the outset the DNVP causes trouble, one of their leaders gets up and loudly declares that they should go first, rather than the BVP, as unlike them, they are a national party.

You don't concede the point, try as they might to make you, as you know the man speaking, Julian Hahn, and that if you give him an inch he'll never shut up about the Jewish threat to Germany. His entire table raises a stink at this, and they jeer and hurl insults. Things escalate when the BVP reveals who they'd chosen as speaker. While you have great respect for Franz Goldenberger, the Minister for Education, regarding how he handled the SPD's socialist youth group, the SPD clearly did not like it.

You brace for the worst as the DNVP hurls accusations of communist, and jewish, sympathies, and he walks past the SPD table. To your surprise, aside from dirty looks, there is not a word from their camp. You're not sure if that's better, if you're honest. You can already tell that they've got some kind of plan.

The BVP's opening speech is fairly predictable, and hits the right notes, at least to your ears. A coalition united by its catholic faith to defend Bavaria's values from all comers, be they Fascists or Communists. A handful of DVP and DNVP members raise a stink about the idea of this being an exclusively catholic project, but they quieten down before long, and the education minister departs the stage to respectable applause.

Next comes the speech from the group you regard as almost as suspiciously as the DNVP, the SPD. Not because you suspect they'd sell you down river to the waiting brown-shirted hordes, but because their entire run through this government has been quiet, but very competent, and of course Rupprecht is a keen supporter even if he's not a member. Their sole representative amongst the cabinet makes his way to the podium, and begins his speech.

He begins, not with polemics, as you'd expect, but with a speech about the great success of the Emergency Government's industrial policy, and the uniting of Industrialists (some of whom, now you actually double check, are now sitting in the SPD's camp) and unions to build a better economy for all Germans. He speaks about how if the Emergency Government can unite the worker and the capitalist in arms to save the nation, that there is nothing that cannot be achieved working together.

He pivots to a speech about burying the hatchet of Republicanism and Monarchism, for now. That what is more important than any of that is blocking the ascension of the Nazi party, a collection of the worst impulses of all populist parties of Germany. That despite what some believed (he paused for a moment, and everyone looked to the DNVP), there would be no restoration of the Kaiser under Hitler, as Hitler would never tolerate a power higher than himself. Not God, Nor Capital, Nor Kaiser.

"My fellows, if you wish to save Germany, if you wish to save the republic, to restore the Kaiser, to bring morality, justice, and sound economics to Germany, then we have only one option. We must unite, because if we do not stand together, Adolf Hitler will ensure that we all hang separately." It's a powerful closer, and you find yourself nodding in agreement as he finishes. He finishes to surprising applause, everyone is impressed by the speech, to a surprising degree.

Of course, not everyone is happy. Especially not the DNVP, who you well know have interesting ideas on the topics of justice, rule of law, and especially the economy. They loudly express their displeasure, and as they are next, prepare to ascend the podium to deliver their speech, at which point Hahn ascends the podium, and makes a complete ass of himself.

Had you known he was so unprepared to make a speech you'd have been tempted to let him go first, so everyone could have a good laugh at his expense, as he immediately launches into a tirade against the Social Democrats. Now, you do enjoy a good bashing of the SPD, at least in private, but his tirade starts off weak, with accusations of Jewish sympathies, and immediately falls on its face, like a drunk who's imbibed too much wine. He appears to have come to the radical conclusion, without evidence, that at a meeting in which the membership that forced his attendance in the first place, that he could dictate terms. He declares that, if there is to be an Anti-Nazi coalition, it will be a radical nationalist one, committed to fighting the Jewish menace that threatens to tear the very fabric of the nation apart.

You know his members would approve, and indeed, they do, all the way up to the point that he declares that if his demands are not met at once, and that he be named leader of the DnPB, that he would withdraw the party from these talks. You have a brief moment of panic, as part of the reason to start these talks before even the idea of an election was to stop any party from splitting, even the drag-along DNVP.

That moment of panic ends when you hear a cry of outrage from the DNVP camp, and Hahn attempting to double down in response. For the next ten minutes, you enjoy a front row seat to a massive argument between Hahn, his right hand goon, and the rest of his table. Everyone seems to be a mixture of amused and worried as the shouting match continues, and the stahlhelm captain at their table seems downright embarrassed to be there, and by the time you've gotten sick of Hahn and ejected him from the podium, he's migrated over towards the BVP's table, though he seems barely any more comfortable there.

Hahn, and his problem faction of the DNVP, are promptly expelled from the meeting, and the more loyal members immediately elect an interim leader, with one of them telling you, in the brief, argument-caused recess, that there will be a vote of no-confidence in the entire DNVP state leadership the next day.

The DVP do not elect to send up a speech maker in this first round, as their entire group is busy talking to the DNVP loyalists, concocting a nefarious scheme you find out about when everything is over. With the speeches done for the moment, discussions between various parties commence, with the leaders discussing matters amongst each other on what could be considered a 'fair' allocation of their own party members to the state list, which members might be most acceptable to others, and other such things.

As you are the leader of the DnPB, you are above this fray, and are able to watch things from afar. You're shocked at how well prepared the SPD seem to be, as they're rapidly pulling members from the BVP and DVP into their orbit, including the Crown Prince, who while you are aware sympathises with them, seems to be incredibly eager to help them win over moderates from both of the less extreme parties.

The BVP, as well, seems to be well organised, pulling loyalist DNVP members in, as well as some of the more conservative DVP members. As you finally indulge in some wine and pork knuckle, you notice that what's left of the DVP and DNVP groups have pooled together. You suspect, from how things are going for the both of them throughout the evening, that neither organisation may be long for an individual existence within Bavaria.

Of course, the idea of a less needlessly stubborn Conservative party is one that appeals to you (You did briefly found your own breakaway from the DNVP in 1929, after all.), and as the meeting adjourns, and everyone heads home, you find yourself wondering if a merger might revitalise the project. The DNVP would, of course, do everything it could to kill such a threat to its Conservative credentials, but the party is even more stiff and lifeless now, than it was in 1929, so what can they do?

Meeting org rolls:
DNVP: 17 + 10 (2 Ministries controlled)
BVP: 49 + 20 (3 Ministries controlled + Largest Party)
SDP: 93 + 15 (1 Ministry controlled + Crown Prince's support)
DVP: 21 + 5 (1 Ministry controlled)

Success! Parties have begun to organise themselves into a workable electoral list. The DNVP has officially split, following the expulsion of the Bavarian leadership, who have refounded the party, with the backing of Hindenburg.

[X] Recruit, and Re-activate

Not long after you and Franz are done dealing with events at the Beerhall, he brings you out to another one, this time a much less patrician establishment. It's fairly quiet, as the two of you sit down with full steins, and a plate of freshly cooked sausage is brought out.

"So, how is the Stahlhelm handling the split?" you open with after a sip from your glass. The DNVP fracturing into a Loyalist faction and Hughenburgist faction, while a long time coming, has threatened to undermine one of the two key pillars of your Paramilitary organisation. When Franz bursts out laughing, you can't help but raise an eyebrow.

"Do you think any of my men would dare join Hahn and his league of failures? He's formed his own splinter organisation, but I've only lost one captain to them, and even then, he was only able to bring over a fraction of his Trupp. They're a joke." That's good news, then, and you find yourself laughing along with him, and you both toast, taking a longer drink of the refreshing brew.

"How is your expansion plan going, then? They haven't managed to cut into that, either?" Franz shakes his head, and takes another long drink.

"Not in the slightest. What can they do? Cry in Hughenburg's papers? They're weak, everyone knows they're weak, even the nastiest antisemites in the VB wouldn't join them, unless they're terminally weak minded. They have no future."

"So, then. How many men do we have?" you take another drink, but it never makes it to your throat, as Franz tells you he's got fifty thousand men under arms (for a given value of "arms"), with a further twenty thousand currently in active training.

You barely keep from spitting out your drink at the news. That is, in effect, a full Army Corps of strength. Nowhere near as capable as an Army Corps, of course, but it's still a pretty sizeable number for an entirely Bavarian militia. While you've no idea just how many the psuedo-SA that is the National Resistance Front has, or how grevious a threat the SS will pose in the inevitable elections, you think with the men you have you may well be able to both fight them off and put a halt to Nazi attempts at propaganda! At least, for the time being.

Success! VB brought up to 50'000 men under arms, on active duty, with 20'000 acting as in-training reserves, ready to be deployed as necessary.

"Hello, new best friends! What can Captain Boda do for you today?" The jubilant Hungarian exclaims, as the agents entered a decrepit warehouse in Rorschach's docks district. Both are nervous, and not especially eager to be here, as despite Boda's friendliness, he had two rough looking guards, armed with guns they didn't quite recognise.

"We're here about the shipment, we've got your payment." One of them held up a briefcase, and the Hungarian's eyes lit up with delight, practically rubbing his hands in glee.

"Excellent, excellent! I have good supplies for you, you will like them, I'm sure. I even have a special gift for your friend, as thanks for his business." He gestures for them to follow him inside, into the warehouse proper. "You will like this thing, I know. One of a kind, very special to me. A gift from one old soldier, to another!" Neither says anything, letting the man talk. The warehouse is absolutely packed full of crates. It's actually almost kind of shocking, just how many there are.

"Yes, yes. Uniforms as well, of course, but this is really something unique." They came to a group of crates stacked on a pallet, and Boda gestures to one of the warehouse workers, who rushes over with a crowbar. He leverages the top most crate open, revealing…

Luther checked his watch, as his companion lit up another cigarette. Their contact was late. Given they were shipping a huge number of illegally bought weapons across two separate borders, that was a bad sign at the outset.

"You think they got busted?" He asked, looking up and across the table to his compatriot, he exhaled a large cloud of smoke, and shook his head.

"Not near here. Our friend is hustling a battalion's worth of rifles and ammunition across the border. If they got caught crossing into Germany, we'd hear the border guards screaming bloody murder." Luther nodded in turn, and that put him at ease. If they were busted in Italy, he dreaded what the fascisti would do to them, but he would be less likely to get caught, so it evened out, more or less.

"Would you like a fresh pot of coffee, sirs?" A young, tired looking serving girl came up to them. It was hard to find an all night coffee shop in Berchtesgaden, but they'd made an arrangement. As long as they kept buying, the owner would keep open. Luther nodded, and the girl took their cups away.

"So, how long should we wait? An hour? H-" He stopped, as the loud, rumbling sound of truck engines appeared on the horizon. Looking out the window, onto a mostly deserted street, he saw a pair of trucks trundling down the road. His friend looked up from his book, cigarette hanging at the edge of his mouth.

"That our boy?" Luther nodded, and looked under the table to make sure they still had the briefcase. He'd heard their boss had gone to great length to make sure this cash was untraceable, and he'd hate to fuck up his first real job since 1929 because he lost a briefcase.

"I don't see any other reason two italian looking trucks would be on the road at this hour." His friend just grunted, and Luther sighed. He brought the briefcase up onto the table, unclicking it for a brief look. He'd grown up poor, so having 50k of reichsmarks right in front of him was certainly a strange feeling. Some part of him told him to take it and run, but he knew given who they were dealing with that'd just get make him 'disappear'.

As he was busy thinking about what to do, the bell at the top of the cafe door rang, signalling the arrival of a large italian man. He looked around for a moment before he saw them, and immediately strode, looming over the table. He was absolutely massive, at least 6'5", and while he wore an expensive suit it was clearly a poor fit, straining to fit the muscle around the arms.

"Gentlemen. I'm here to talk business. Do you have somewhere more private?" He asked in slow, accented German, and the two would-be gunrunners looked at each other, before nodding.

"Indeed, we're renting a backroom. Follow me." Luther was the first to rise, leading both his friend, and their italian contact, past the counter, where a quick dismissal, and a small tip of 20 reichsmarks, told the girl not to disturb them for the next little while.

The room itself was small, with just a table and four chairs. Luther and Hans took two, and the Italian the one opposite. Despite his huge, intimidating physique, he seemed unnaturally casual about the situation, lounging in the chair.

"I apologise for the delay, gentlemen. We had a holdup at the Italian border. Our benevolent leader, he doesn't pay the border guards all that well, so they took an unreasonable interest in the produce I was bringing you."

"Oh? It is still all there, though? My dear mother is looking forward to stocking some fresh italian produce in the market." The contact laughed, nodding in agreement.

"Of course. It was nothing we couldn't handle. Four hundred and fifty fresh, delicious tomatoes, five thousand grapes, and my boss has, in the interests of fostering future business relationships, thrown in two dozen eggs from his personal farm."

"Excellent, my mother will be very happy to hear that. Of course, we have your payment right here." Luther put the briefcase on the table, and the Italian spun it around, opened it, and his eyes scanned the contents. He picked up each of the ten thousand dollar stacks in turn, thumbing them to make sure each bill was the same. After a few long minutes of this, he looked back up, grinning.

"It was a pleasure doing business with you gentlemen. Mr. Vinizzi will be happy to do business with you again in the future. Once you've unloaded the produce, drop the trucks back at the border. We'll have some people come pick them up." They all shook hands, and just like that, it was done. Luther had done it. He'd just smuggled guns into Germany. A massive wave of tension was lifted from him, and he and Hans parted ways with their Italian friends, piling into one of the weirdly stunted Italian trucks, and preparing for the drive down into Munich.

Equipment, much like with other paramilitaries, is whatever the member themself can provide. This can mean anything from relatively modern semi-automatic pistols and swords to Opa's dueling flintlock, and a particularly hefty piece of wood.

Having your own reserve of actual, military-grade equipment, complete with ammunition, uniforms, helmets, and grenades, is a huge advantage, both for morale purposes, and for making life unpleasant for your enemies. The VB does have a stock of weaponry, but it's not standardised, and is quite eclectic, running the gamut from a handful of hunting flintlocks to improvised SMGs, to an improvised tank that gets half a mile to the gallon, and moves as fast as an A7V going up a hill.

1 Standschütze Hellriegel M1915, 650 rounds of 9mm Hellriegel
On the one hand, that it an absolutely useless weapon compared to anything else on the black market. On the other, we now have the only Hellriegel in existence. From the perspective of historical records and gun collectors, it's not too far from owning the Mona Lisa.

That said, selling the damn thing is not going to get us much money now, as the interest in WWI weapons is not going to kick off until after WWII. But comparing a post-war multi-million dollar auction to the few thousand now is a bit unfair a negative, given the scale of our operation.

Say Karvoka, how hard would it be to find a collector with more money than sense? And maybe some of the hopefully-still-around documents of the weapon?

Oh god no the damn socialists are gaining ground...fuck it. I'd rather have the SPD and BVP running things than the Nazi's or Communists.

So next turn if we could please do something about Mr. Halder. That man needs a LONG nap.

Also dear god I have to start getting ready that Omake!

The positive point of having such a eclectic mix is that we can do a comparison to see which weapon system covers our needs best.

Perhaps something goods comes of it l, such as a semiauto rifle in 6.5 carcano.

Or we find a pipe factory that can fan us a Sten-like gun in 9x25 Mauser.

Actually being able to arm our paramilitaries comes well before being able to optimize them. It is totally infeasible to be able to come anywhere close to being able to standardize and equip on an ideal weapons system. The purpose of these weapons to arm a roughly regiment sized group of complete hardasses that are basically up to full military standard if necessary.

I was a walking long term and not being entirely serious. I think what we will have for a long time is the same type of hodgepodge that you currently see in the news about Syria. Only worse, because at least in Syria most is either from former Warsaw pact states, China or chambered in NATO calibres.

We however will have to deal with the multitude of European cartridges. For example the only thing useful about the Hellrigel is to add it to a reference collection.
