[X] Tampa Bay
Boston is common in fanfics, though I'm not against it or anything. San Fransisco has Alexandria and, I think, Pretender and his crew of Wards, right? Don't want to tangle with them yet. No idea what's in Tampa Bay.
Negative mass fluid in real life. This means the harder you hit it the harder it hits back. Works agasint Alexandria and Legend and Lung equally well.
We really should dump these bones and muscles in favor of various types of non Newtonian fluids. Surely our extra dimensional space parasite can achieve this more efficiently that us small three deminsional fleshy things
Well, this would definitely solve any issues we have eith kinetic damage, though, unfortunately, it isn't something we can put on any part of the body we intend to hit people with (Breaking our wrist on a regular persons face seems embarrassing). This would, however, work pretty well as a counter to a high power hit breaking our non-newtonian fluid joint armour (assuming we still do that). The only issue is how difficult it would make movement. We'd need a workaround for that before we went any further
EDIT: just did some more research. While the article you refrenced is mostly clickbait, the use of negative effective mass, could be helpful. As it turns out, the negative mass referenced by the article is actually something called negative effective mass, which doesn't move in the opposite direction it's pushed, but just acts differently to how it should, which is pretty common once you get something into a superfluid or supersolid state. Unfortunately, even if the shard could make true negative mass, it seems like it's only possible in a superfluid state, maybe in a supersolid if we're lucky. Those seem to be pretty wacky, but, more importantly, they only occur at extremely low temperatures.
Assuming we can, somehow, incorporate negative mass armour into the design, making an armour that moves against every punch and stopping it from hurting us (incredibly useful, as it would allow us to do fun things like regress from bulky armour to scales, thus increasing flexibilty and speed, wi thout losing durability) we'd need to rig a system that allows us to move, while simultaneously stopping attacks from hurting us. More importantly, getting something like negative mass armour would be one of our "physics breaking" adaptations, and while we haven't got enough of those to really understand them yet, I'm led to beleive that either we are offered them at times which the author deems appropriate, or whenever certain milestones or conditions are met, such as taking damage from an exotic source (e.g. siberian or the sting shard.)
While I love the idea of negative mass armour, it seems like we may have to build our way up to it.

Negative made fluid also provides anti gravity, the key part in the article that I think makes the negative mass fluid work, is that it must be excited to exhibit those properties.
So a cornstarch type solution for immediate non active armour, and for instant joint protection by hardening upon impact. A visoplastic fluid within a tube for structural elements so hard impacts cause our structural elements to blend temporarily but return to shape rightaway. An eloctro active fluid that hardens with current to provide weapons and such.( not quite sure how to define the shape for those). The fluids don't replace everything. Still calorie and oxygenator distribution.
One thing I think is a neat reactive combination,is having pizeo electric cells generate a small current to cause an electro active fluid to create an injector like those small jellyfish in Australia. Then a toxin mix is injected into the attacker. Combine that with pockets of negative mass fluid. Now when glory girl punches us, the negative mass fluid drops her shield, and injectors automatically inject here with what ever toxin mix we have at that moment.

Alexandria is in Los Angeles. Pretender is in Las Vegas. San Francisco is a chess match between the PRT and the Elite, where both sides toe the line in public but waltz all over it in private.
Well that was a mess. Let's hope that we can manage to come up with something a bit more stable. Maybe make them a little bit like ambush predators and have her able to go into a state of dormancy? Maybe start sending out some pheromones sampled from prey?
Also I have found a way to handle our whole "Can't have enough mass to be effective while reacting to the human tribal instincts" problem. And it is a problem due to our Hosts food source being partially based on it.
Edit: I also had some thought about extending a spine like extremity from the sternum which could be used to breath out through to increase efficiency by removing dead space from the lungs.
Also had some thoughts about how we could extend some presure spikes from the elbow, coming from the upper arm and lower arm, to replace and/or augment the pseudo-wings we were beginning to develop; Use the movement of the lower arm to lock them into a housing in the joing at a semi-arbitrary angle from the upper arm, and then detach it from the lower arm to let it move around without it.
Edit: Alright people, i need help on the uses of a idea; If we inflate a pouch and then harden it, via the electroreactive liquid armour idea, could we use that more effectively and/or efficiently then otherwise?
The irukandji jellyfish has a really cool stinger design. Unlike Normal jellyfish the irukandji has three tiers of horizontal barbs that extend form the main thrust on the stinger. I just have found a website that corroborates that yet. So still just recollection from a nature program for me.
The difference was key because the extra horizontal tiers allow for deep penetration and venom distribution.
This is true it is mostly clickbait the conditions for that experiment are very very controlled. But if we humans are starting to be able to generate those effects, it does make it much less if a physics break than it otherwise would seem. It serves as a proof of concept.
We don't want permanent negative mass either, because then moving becomes really hard. The idea exciting a fluid to exhibit those properties is needed to even begin making use of negative mass.

Sot hte basic solution to keeping us from becoming so ugly we're murdered by brocktonites with pitchforks is, I'm just confirming this, to have a body seperated into two sections. One being a relatively normal, only slightly exotic looking human being, the other a mass of the various organs and body parts that can be used for such delightful purposes as killing our cat.
That sounds awesome!
Ifwe wanted tokeep our interaction avatar from injury, we could arrange a system in ehich it is usually concealed in our body, but can emerge in order to communicate. Alternatively, like the photo, we could leave most of our body alone, and focus all of the changes into one body part, such as a limb, or head extension.

Okay, sorry. I think I see were you're coming from though. This would create an active defense, which could effectively block nearly any kinetic attack, but would require us to remain still while we do it.
Myrddin could dedicate a fridge pocket dimension filled meat for us. Which would mean less worry about caloric needs while still being to gorge ourselves in a feeding frenzy that hopefully will involve less cat.
Also, iirc and don't quote me on this, the more magically inclined villain gang I believe to be there might have some interesting reactions/interactions if (when) we go down the more eldritch path.
(It has absolutely nothing to with me being a Dresden fan and the fact that I can imagine Myrddin being a ln AU version of him with all the cheese and everything)
Personally, I'd prefer a spider-styled body for all the extra stability as well as a good big platform to base various ranged weaponry on, with maybe a thing letting a human-looking avatar emerge to make it look more like a drider. Alternatively, human-looking simulacra generated inside the body and vomited out as needed while remaining completely separate from the main body and controlled remotely would probably be optimal for all sorts of reasons.
Wow, I didn't even realise I described Echidna until I finished.

The idea remined me of echdna as well. Though the drider look sound like it could be good, as long as we can apply the current changes to it. We could move host to a quadrupedal form at the next opportunity, then bulk her up to a larger size, before adding a retractable skeletal and musclular structure to the top dwith the purpose of facilitating madison's interaction with other members of the species. It wouldn't even need many organs, just lungs, a voice box, and somebasic facial organs (eyes, nose, mouth. Just enoughto look normal).

[X] New York. It is a legendary city. . . . It is close. And it has tons of tunnels under the high rises and subways, so we can hide if we have to for some reason. A lawless under dark of Manhattan is a perfect place to hide out.

Honestly i just wanted to move some defensive parts around so that they could be moved around. You don't need to armor everything, just the parts that are going to be in the way. As long as we have a face we should be able to manage.
Tampa wins! Capes from Tampa will be OCs! No promises we go there, but it broadens our horizons!
We have been pinged by another shard.
Planning round is now official
Simulations of future encounters indicate the following host damage to be likely:
Glory Girl - Blunt, crushing - lots of broken bones. Major physical restructuring possible afterward.
Rules for the new planning stage:
Your plan will need to:
- Have a simple defined theme (Five words or less)
--- Allow breathing under water.
--- Be Resilient to crushing, large impacts
--- Have claws
--- Sharp teeth, mouth, nose, eating apparatus, at least two eyes that can see in salt water without stinging.
--- Keep in mind host will be at least 180 lbs
--- Explicitly keep at least four changes from past planning votes.
--- Explicitly discard at most two changes from past votes.
For convenience, see:
Try to work with others to get a plan that has the following descriptive format:
1. Defined theme (5 words or less)
{Will help me fill in the gaps when I write, and lessens your burden somewhat}
2. The best picture you can to represent the form you want the host to have after the physical destruction.
3. Host height when standing, walking relevant states.
4. Define how standard host functions (breathing, eating, smell, taste, air taste, opening doors, mobility) will work
--- Don't need to be super detailed on everything, just the more clear it is, the better I as an author can capture how it goes in the story.
5. (OPTIONAL) Request ONE physics break from the following list.
Negative mass fluid,
Non-Newtonian fluid,
No need to breathe,
No need for blood,
Drop Nervous system. (Taser/Electricity immunity, yay!)
Lengthen transformative period (reduces calorie needs)
Propose your own conceptually simple physics break.
6. Other details - This includes odd anatomy shifts (Main, high-functioning brain relocated to rib-cage where it's safer)
7. The four (or more) changes from other votes you chose to explicitly keep.
8. The two changes (or less) to be explicitly discarded
Note: After this, the host must be immune to 90% blunt, scraping, etc effects.
Next chapter up Tuesday (the 25th) at the latest. Planning will continue until the 26th at least.
Personally i think that we should modulate as hard as we can. Long body, like a centipede made out of tentacles, and then have it able to pull itself back together. quick fix to the crushing damage problem. Scraping damage could me managed by...something that rolls? A interesting type of scale? Maybe we can make something like ball points housed in each scale so that when they lie flat they can be rolled on? We would need to put some low friction skin under it, just in case, no matter what we put over it.
Edit: Or we could make something like shark scale skin and make it bunch up and "roll" like the foot of a snake or snail.
