[X] Plan Winning The Peace Cheaply
As I understand it, we get politics rolls every turn for how well the parties are doing, but election rolls specifically are happening rn because we last had elections in 42AE and it's been 5 years, it's just that this happened to coincide with the end of the war. If we had kept fighting, apparently we would have had the choice of whether to run elections during the war or delay.
The rolls seem to govern changes within plausible envelopes; political change is not entirely a random number generator. I don't think you should be catastrophizing.
The WP should be in good shape regardless, just did not do as well as they could have. PDL is a bit fucked though, the good news is both parties that competed directly with the PSC did much better than them...
Technically speaking, the chance was for the government to call a snap election as they both wanted to cash in on winning the war and the knowledge that the economy was going to collapse in short order in the next year from the issues of wartime mobilization. This did not work out the best.As I understand it, we get politics rolls every turn for how well the parties are doing, but election rolls specifically are happening rn because we last had elections in 42AE and it's been 5 years, it's just that this happened to coincide with the end of the war. They did, yes, as a result of Ricky's economic reforms dragging the party left:
Party | 37 AE Elections | 42 AE Elections | 47 AE Elections |
---|---|---|---|
Workers Party | 146 | 131 | 142 |
Party of Democratic Labor | 95 | 240 | 99 |
Party of Popular Mobilization | 102 | 21 | 32 |
Green Party | 244 | 157 | 74 |
Broad Front Party | 89 | 74 | 180 |
People's Progressive Party | 181 | 122 | 226 |
Independent | 13 | 3 | 13 |
Party of Social Convergence | 77 | 199 | 181 |
They fell in numbers this cycle? They lost like 18 seats to the BFP and PPP. Despite the massive advantages handed to them (the hated enemy reappering to reinforce all the racist prejudices of Mourans).
I meant the second election. And even still they are the 2nd biggest party even if barely. I won't be satisfied until they are at least less than 100 and ideally less than 50They fell in numbers this cycle? They lost like 18 seats to the BFP and PPP. ROS SWEEP! I knew she'd return!Parliament map of the new incoming government, governing coalition is PPP-BFP-GP
Someone likely had a "big brain" moment and said something before discussing it with others.ROS SWEEP! I knew she'd return!
Also god damn how did the PDL even shit the bed this badly.
The second election was, notably, five years ago and reflects extreme youth dissatisfaction (with half the population, "everyone born after the nuclear exchange," being 'youth' for this purpose) with an economy that effectively locked them out of worthwhile jobs due to extreme and rapid advances in automation.I meant the second election.
