Slathering Sidereal nonsense over people you want to be wary and alarmed and ready to act?
Sounds like a great plan to me! Maia won't have much USEFUL intel but it could get her thinking if she gets Fate'd properly.

Or yanno, she hits the roll and remembers Peony's cover well enough to point fingers and come after us but why not be on the receiving end for once?

Perhaps you just don't have it in you to provide anything less than your best in circumstances like these, for an event this significant, in service to one of Ambraea's Hearthmates. Call it professional pride or something more sentimental. After all, love is what you make of it.
I'm so glad love won. Grace is really in her element and enjoying doing right by her former ladies niece/sister/hearthmate.
You've never entirely liked the way that Evening Garnet does her hair, however.
A century after Evening Garnet i dead, Grace will still have strong feelings about the way she styled Ambraea's hair. :V
Cold Rain, despite being run ragged in her efforts to manage the entire staff of servants, had overheard this last, and had become genuinely angry. She had spoken very tensely to Gardens in private, and when he'd shown his face again, he'd been chastened. You increasingly like Cold Rain.
You don't talk to Rain's girls like that Garden!!

A frayed destiny is no light sacrifice, especially this early in the quest. the purpose behind an Iselsi's visit to a V'neef wedding is also no small matter. We need to check what she's here for to make sure the wedding isn't going to face an unfortunate case of suddenly dead groom.

I had a Sidereal pop avoidance once to slip away from a group of Solars. Later that day he tried to intervene to save a important Dragonblood. He got one shotted by a Zenith with 34 initiative before he could even move (also a point against joining into a fight at a bad time lmao)

Kinda important to keep that resource until you absolutely need it.

More people are voting for both maia and talking more than simply leaving. I don't think Maia's potential aid is worth fraying the destiny for, and there is something to be said for learning why her presence at the event is being kept secret.

I am massively overvoted here but Good Worker Spirit is suuuch a fun Journeys bullshitting charm, and the thought of Grace doing the equivalent of "Eeyyyy I'm working here" while held at knifepoint is hilarious

It's funny - the servants that Grace is looking into on suspicion of being Bitter Cherry - the gambler one and the rumor-mill one both make me think of alternate form-taking charms. If Cherry is either of them, she could have been gathering all *sorts* of forms during the entire gala. Spooky.

Speaking of the gala, I'm loving it! I really enjoy all the details and the different themes of each day. I think my favorite part so far has been the "speak now or forever hold your peace" part, with the Imperial judge and the various guests asking rehearsed questions to the couple.

Through this option, you may learn something additional about why Maia is keeping her presence a secret.
I really think what Iselsi Maia, daughter of a former great house of Vengeful assassins, who's fall V'neef exploited to enable her ascension to great house, is doing hidden here, is an important thing to know

A frayed resplendent destiny will still function as well as ever, but further damage to it before it can recover will result in it unweaving entirely. You will not be able to replace a broken resplendent destiny with one of the same role for the rest of year 1's story. All frayed destinies will recover by the start of year 2.
And that if we are forced to unweave the destiny that could meaningfully limit our options later.

Look, I love Maia too, but fraying the destiny already just ain't cool. Honestly, I'd rather just leave but that has no chance of winning.

The first seems the most appealing to my fanbrain. the second seems practical and fun to read how it would unfold

Guys. What're we doing here. If we bring in Maia we are literally one out of character act from our entire cover dissolving, not to mention compromising mission security. Very bad idea.

It's her Hearthmate's wedding and her girlfriend who she doesn't get to see often is here. She wanted to see L'nessa and get railed (she is wearing Ambraea's clothes). This isn't rocket science.

As her hearthmate, she could do all of those things publicly. It's not necessary for her to conceal her presence here for that. There is more to the story we haven't cottoned onto, which could potentially be related to her secret duties. Peleps can't think to send her against L'nessa and Iselsi probably wouldn't order her too, but house Cynis is another matter. It wouldn't specifically be a quest reward if it was of no importance.
