Tech is better than I was originally thinking since it offers Gisena relevant punch on the right opponents even in the inner layer, so I think it's potentially better than blade. Or at least if a 1 pick blade or complication was rolled. The main downside is without mercenary income I'm not sure how we're affording this. Maybe there's a stash of barter in Verschle for such situations? Either way splurging on gadgets would be out.
We could offer blood healing or the Pearl, or even to enhance some stuff for a while? We can offer some valuable things, really.
Current vote count?

The stronger ones might.

7-Arete Surge + Mastery: Remilia Scarlet, Sakuya Izayoi
25-Arete Surge + Mastery: Yukari Yakumo
And so the Devil's advocacy rears it's head, making me much more interested in Surgecraft again. Fatebending, really?

From a tactical standpoint I realized something. Pillars of Creation may split the vote, minimizing the odds of Cut Through winning at the next pick if by some miracle we reach 25 Arete and have both as options. Is that worth it?
I doubt it, Pillars is good but comes at the heavy price of being Utility based. Even in it's ideal state where we use it to completely repair Versch it probably doesn't help much with our immediate survival. And our actions have proven we can buckle down for 25 arete if we really need to. Including ignoring the super-shiny option Rihaku waved in front of us.
If Cut Through doesn't require picks to take can't we just take both of the social + options instead? Healing our conditions and buffing Gisena and Versch at the same time sounds pretty good!
Do we get a chance to select Cut Through without any picks, though? I don't recall us ever getting a build option without at least one pick available.

Why do you do this to us Rihaku? We just managed to get enough for EFB and suddenly you started dangling two more in front of us.
Does you endless appetite for omake and artwork knows no bounds?
He likes trolling.

But anyway if this *was* a major update we can't afford to spend 7 arete. If it wasn't then we can probably use the escalating Arete gain to reach another 7 anyway.

We should assume it was until Rihaku tells us otherwise.

Vertex has a decisive lead, Hotsprings and Blade do as well, though new info may shake those up.

Since Vertex is winning now it would fit the Devil's advocate shtick if you were to tell us if this counted as a major update or not :p. If not that's probably going to tilt things in favor of Surgecraft, given even the 7 Arete options are apparently... significantly stronger than we were imagining.

I think that Vertex could be potentially synergetic with Accretion, but with Accretion slots being all full, that is somewhat of a moot point.

And by the time we unlock any more, ridiculous stuff like making an Armament into Accretion Artifact or at least Power Armor prototype is going to be hard to compete with.

Yup, pinnacle-grade Vertex + Accretion is basically = a Silmaril.

[] Bloodwraith [2 Arete]
Boosts our survival odds so much... but leaves Letrizia ludicrously vulnerable to that Bear-ly human gaming boy ganking her.
