[X] Feat: Saber

I'm sure that all the options are good and all, but this is a travesty and an insult that needs to be corrected post-haste. We are being beaten by a teenager! How can we stay secure in our mockery of the Royalist Faction while that is still the case!? We have to change this at all costs.

[X] The Ring of Power: Crimson Flare

While Gisena and Adorie are super powerful now, half our party is still very squishy. They are so weak that they bring us almost no gains. Crimson flare helps make them viable again. I'm not the only one who sees the benefits of having a Rank 4.5 ninja in the human sphere, a place full of scheming nobles and power plays, am I?

Hey, Aobaru gives +ISH stats! That's a very relevant gain.

Bear Curse - Winter's Brand? Is that... an actual Curse?

Yup.

Are those post-Myth and Legend +All Stats?
In the temple we got the quickening advancement which boosts our stats while we're a blood bag. The ring triples the blood stats we get from it if we take it.
[ ] The Ring of Power - Quickening - 7 Arete (3 picks)

The power of Progression made manifest in blood.

While in any form with corporeal blood, gain +++++++Agility, +++++++Might, ++++Wits, and triple the rate of passive healing performed by the Ring of Blood. Halve wound penalties in any such forms. Currently, this applies only to Hunger's first form.

Ensures that [Final Form] will possess corporeal blood. This may not necessarily be an advantage.

I'm ok with not powering up Aeira, because I want her to retire to a less-lethal crowd sometime soon.

Aobaru is guaranteed mortal danger, so he's got to be kept safe. Letrizia is a Duchess with a (the) Verschlengorge.

Aeira's great and I like her character, but I'd be just as happy with her lack of screentime if it was far away taking care of the Elixir Sovereignty.

Hmmm, since we are going for an Artful Thorn build to fight Armaments, King of Winter and Feat: Saber are my top choices.

[X] The Tears of Winter: King of Winter

I'm going for these one in the meantime unless Saber gets traction.

If we do get King of Winter we've really gotta get Refinement of Battle as soon as feasible. The more time it has to scale up, the better off we'll be with an omniapplicable attack like Ruin smoothing our way.

King of Winter is certainly strong, but in terms of raw power it's behind Crimson Flare, since it spends much of the Advancement fixing Nilfel and getting quasi-mitigation...

If we do not buy Flare here, might be worth buying other Blood Advancements. And that hypothetical Blood EFB, too.

Basically tripling all of their effects eventually is quite good.

[X] The Tears of Winter: King of Winter

I really, really, really, want the ring of blood of one a lot, way more then Tears, but I also super want the spare the innocent and to fix the damage done to Nilfel. Plus it even helps out Aoboru's sidequest.

So, a thought occurs.

Each of these advancements offers incredible power, but where that power lies varies. Saber concentrates power entirely within Hunger himself, offering no benefits to anyone else. Crimson Flare, on the other hand, grants comprehensive buffs to allies, but still gives Hunger a number of benefits. King of Winter is mostly buffing Hunger but grants large benefits to Adorie and Nilfel specifically as well.

Notably, Crimson Flare and King of Winter offer considerable strategic benefits as well. Crimson Flare allows for easy armies of superhumans, and if we get Hunger mental stats his Blood Control can work on a galactic scale, which has immense strategic value. Architect of the Age also offers immense value, allowing Gisena, Adorie, Letrizia ect. to build great wonders. Perhaps new Armaments, or magical projects of immense scale and power? King of Winter elevates Realm of Myth in power over time, and renders it a safe space from the Apocryphal as long as we don't overuse it.

Pillars is the hardest to gauge, because the benefits it offers are entirely utility. What exactly it does, and where the bounty of power from it falls, depends on how we use that utility.

Honestly. We liberated them from the tyranny of a maniacal despot and then we saved them from a living weapon of mass destruction. For all our selfless actions they yet demand more of us? It seems that the greed of Nilfel knows no limits.

[X] The Tears of Winter: King of Winter

This.
This is the comfy option.
Pillars is a trap, a manifestation of procrastination, allowing Apocryphal to power up.
This option makes Hunger stronk, decks two potential problems in the face, prints money, and gives a Get Out of Apocryphal card.

Also Adorie will adore us.

Quickening: While in any form with corporeal blood, gain +++++++Agility, +++++++Might, ++++Wits, and triple the rate of passive healing performed by the Ring of Blood. Halve wound penalties in any such forms. Currently, this applies only to Hunger's first form.

Fierce Quickeningx3?: The absurd violence of Blood unleashed. Let all that falls within its dominion be spilled, if it be in service to the Ringbearer. Adds [++Agility, +Wits] to the bonuses from Quickening, subject to the usual conditions. Can be taken up to 3 times.

Vigor itself x3: The primordial might and glory of Blood resplendent. Let all who witness its form tremble, and be subject. Adds [++Might, +Charisma] to the bonuses from Quickening, subject to the usual conditions. Can be taken up to 3 times.

Vigor Incarnate:
The glory of Blood triumphant. Let those who would stand against him cower, or be undone. A simple but exceptionally powerful option.
Adds [+++Might, ++Charisma] to the bonuses from Quickening, subject to the usual conditions.
Add your Charisma to your Protection.

Honing (haven't taken it yet)
The swift sharp blade that frees blood from body. Requires 3x Fierce Quickening (presently have 2x).
+++Agility, ++Wits. Add half your Wits to your Intelligence for purposes of combat.

Overall, assuming that we have 3x Fierce Quickenings already, this means Hunger's personal Bloodcasting buffs grant:
+++++++++++++Agility, ++++++++++++++++Might, +++++++Wits, +++++Charisma,
(as well as applying all CHA to PROT)

So for Stats alone, before taking Honing, Crimson moves Hunger from:
+13 AGI -> +39 AGI
+16 Might -> +48 Might
+ 7 Wits -> +21 Wits
+ 5 CHA -> +15 CHA
