I kind of think that infusing the Walls with True Vigorflame might be a big brain tactic. Their description is pretty cool! If Adorie's bloodline awakens in times of dire peril, the moments before the walls fall down would be a great time to activate. Giving her bloodline some extra time to get its shit together would be a good use of Aobaru if he can do it from range.

Zampano have I ever told you your a genius

I like this a lot.

He's the Voyaging Realm hero here, not Hunger, so it's very fitting for him. All he has to do is make the walls last a bit longer and buy us some time.
There's also a panic button briefly mentioned in my last big tactics post: The Walls of Myth might explode real good. If Aobaru stands behind the walls right in the spot where Procyon is attacking, he could ignite a True Vigorflame fire that uses condensed Myth and ++Pressure as its kindling. That explosion might be the kind of thing that could knock down a full Rank Armament. (Of course, then there'd be a big hole in the walls and Procyon's minions would come out to play, but that fight seems a lot more reasonable for the Legions...)

None of our tactics posts have really discussed the Second Form: Depending on how Praxis exhaustion works, launching Artful Thorns from an intangible weapons platform might be a pretty sweet deal. An Armament's attacks definitely qualify as Magical for the sake of damage reduction, but we might actually have a second ambush if Hunger takes a bad hit and Procyon goes back to wrecking the Wall.

Hmm. True Vigorflame can explode anything given the time to infuse it. Could Aobaru spend a fuckload of time just infusing a bunch of bombs for Hunger to make use of? Or maybe he could figure out some kind of distance infusion power with last minute protagonist power? Ideally without elevating the Armament's ISH tier.

Note that Artful Thorn empowers the next attack, meaning we would empower Deathly Star with Artful Thorn. Deathly star is extremely fast (after those 5 heart beats) and extremely precise. I think we could hit the pilot directly.

At that point we'd bluff. We can't use deathly star again but they wouldn't know that (I hope), so add in us kidnapping the republic commanders and using superhuman charisma on the pilot and we might convince them to withdraw. We'd probably need to make some sort of oath, like ejecting Letrezia and Versch from the realm of myth after a day, but I think it could be managed.

Normally walls are meant to do the opposite of exploding, but these are magic walls so who knows.

Haliel should talk to him at some point, maybe that time is now and she'll give him a very heroic pep talk? That would help regardless of whether we empower the walls or blow them up.

Armaments are so powerful that I'm skepical second form will be good for anything other than absorbing one blow that would otherwise instantly kill Hunger.

Artful Thorn + Death Star, the rune carved in findross, the blow delivered directly to the pilot's brain or spine or eye or something. The amount of actual damage it would do might be minor, or even irrelevant, but the psychological impact could be significant.
Now we're talking, buddy. If someone could hurt me despite Astral Rank 10 + Shroud + big mech, I'd shit my pants.

Fuck yes. This isn't Shingeki no Armament; it's Bakuretsu la-la-la!

Your idea of stopping Procyon breaching the walls is to explode the wall and hope it does something...okay scooby-doo, that is a sound and tactical plan.

Aobaru is the Chosen One. I don't want to live in a world where he would pick the structural integrity of our only line of defense against the murderous causality-defying skyscraper over *me*, an ordinary teenage girl with plain hair and eyes described vaguely enough for everyone to relate to me.

Also: Mister the Rihaku has confirmed that the fight is gonna be bad. There's a whole thing on discord, but the punchline is that omakes & tactics about Hunger, Letrizia/Versch, and Gisena are really the only meaningful ways to nudge the DC downward.

To be clear, the omakes need to be at least tangentially relevant to the current situation, with those containing relevant tactics being awarded additionally.

Basically, zamp estimated that we have about 80% chance to burn through all our rerolls and defensive wish too. Tactics will help sharply increase that chance, although even then it will be hard.

Also, Letrizia and Gisena are only ones with speed to be of any combat relevance, and even they can't actually follow the fight.

Typical male author, forgetting about the secondary female characters like Aeira. I am writing the YA omakes to protect her smile from that Pick Thief.
Let him coddle his Mary Sue Gisena, I would quietly root for Aeira from the sides.

There is a whole lot of speculation involved.

Referring to Call Up, Rihaku said that it would've made our rerolls more effective:
the number of re-rolls you have to spend to hit DC 95 once is fewer than to hit DC 70 twice
So let's say that the default DC for this fight is 95, and that we're rolling a 1d100 with no other modifiers so far. Then 1d100 has a 6% chance (assuming that a 95, 96,... or 100 all result in survival).

Depending on the number of rerolls we have, we roll that many dice (plus 1, from our original attempt). The odds of getting AT LEAST 95 are given below:
anydice.com

AnyDice

AnyDice is an advanced dice probability calculator, available online. It is created with roleplaying games in mind.
For one reroll, we have about 10% chance of making it. Reducing the DC by 1 improves our chances by 1.8 percentage points.
For two rerolls, we have about 17% chance of making it. Reducing the DC by 1 improves our chances by 2.6 percentage points.
For three rerolls, we have about 20% chance of making it. Reducing the DC by 1 improves our chances by 3.3 percentage points.

If we have four or more rerolls then we have to switch to a less friendly website.

dice.run

The final dice roller
Here, our odds are 26.6%. Lowering the DC by 1 improves our chances by 3.8 percentage points. Lowering the DC to 88 would bring us to 50/50 odds.

Hmm. Entirely unrelated to anything going on currently but I wonder if Progression ever reaches a point where each additional level (under Seram's system) represents more power than all the previous levels earned combined.

Quick Transmigration Record of Cursebearer Fodder's Record of Resistance Pt. 6

Seralize, having allured the despairing Su Chen with promises of sensory restoration, began her experimentation. She had just expanded her sensory enhancements to include sound and smell; applying those enhancements to others was relatively easy to manage. She had never particularly needed to do so, as each of the members of her party had had their own means of superhuman physicality, but it took only a few hours of trial and error to manage on Shangguan. She proceeded to apply them to Su Chen; while the augmented hearing and smell had the desired effect, the augmented sight seemed to have no noticeable effect. They faded quickly as soon as she was not pouring Purple into them; she would want to make them self-sustaining to a degree. More experimentation would be required.

The sensory enhancements were not so much a matter of specifically augmented anatomy; they did not even possess a strong conceptual link to Purple, as she had not managed to directly link sound and smell to the color. But many things could be done with raw power, even if it was not necessarily the best tool. Her physical enhancements had closed her wounds somewhat faster than usual, on the occasions that she had; perhaps this healing enhancement could be isolated from the strength, speed, and durability. Her enhancements could be refined conceptually; a general-purpose enhancement ran on raw power, but conceptual linkage increased their efficiency and specialized them. Color was intrinsically linked to the seeing of color, and as such, her sight enhancement had come easily; her hearing and smell enhancements were not so directly linked, but they were senses, linked by that relationship to sight, so the extension was not a massive endeavor. But she had never truly linked her physical enhancement to Purple. Not even a secondary connection via the imagery of a physical entity itself linked to purple existed. It took weeks of attempts to only enhance regeneration with the raw power that she had, months she spent lurking around Su Chen mostly, though she did take some time to fulfill Shangguan's request to thoroughly thrash the bandits that had so troubled him. Along with her occasional visits to his inn to check the current state of information and procure more rations, they never did so again, and the inn began to draw a steady trickle of customers once more, mostly due to its low prices rather than any real quality. Shangguan never did bother fixing up the inn to any major degree.

The constant regeneration enhancement, as a side effect, ablated her need for sleep; all told, she had slept perhaps five dozen hours over those months, mostly in short catnaps. While tinkering with her color magic, she had managed to accidentally morph the glow that she gave off into invisibility. From that, she developed a technique that would dye all light around her into that invisibility, a highly useful effect to keep up almost permanently. Though it was somewhat expensive, the constant drain on her internal flame even managed to expand her reserves further. She proceeded to make the attempt at healing Su Chen's eyes with the regeneration enhancement, to little effect; if there was progress, it was small enough to be unnoticeable. She needed something stronger.

Over the spring and summer, she worked at improving the strength she could pour into each of her enhancements. While flooding herself with raw power was fine for simple applications, sensory enhancement could not be brute forced so. Anything more complex than a general physical enhancement would face diminishing returns when flooded with power. So, she took to refining her control and improving the design of the workings, so that her greater raw power could translate into similarly greater supportive capability. Those enhancements would remain stable for some time even when she was not directly supplying power to them as well. When fall came, she began to treat Su Chen once more. At first, the attempts seemed as futile as the last, but in a week, Su Chen began to say that he saw the flaring Purple light of her cast. In another three weeks, Su Chen began to detect non-purple light, and two months after that, he could see silhouettes. Combined with Seralize's enhanced sight enhancement, he was normally nearsighted but effectively had even better sight than before his blinding in combat. At this point, the System chimed in.

"Seralize vi Esterarc, you have accelerated the recovery of the future Human Emperor's sight by two years. For completing this subtask, the System will grant you one boon."

Seralize selected her boon and redoubled her training efforts for the next two years, while still healing Su Chen. Over the course of those years, Su Chen's base eyesight recovered to extreme nearsightedness; his enhanced eyesight became normal, and his perception of movement far beyond. The color poured into healing him had suffused his origin energy with Purple and accelerated his Body Tempering significantly; he reached the peak of the ninth stage in the second year and broke through to Qi Drawing, then hit mid-Qi Drawing by the end of the third. Though he had wanted to reveal his restored sight and newfound strength to the Su Clan, he held back as he could not explain Seralize's existence, and she did not want to be exposed. So, he skipped the yearly assessments and did not inform the Su of his recovery, gaining a reputation as having sunken into deep despair after his blinding. Over the first year, he had seen well enough that the Su did not value him as a person; revealing his strength and Seralize would gain some benefits, but also the expectation to contribute to the clan. If he was truly to become Human Sovereign, he would likely at least reach the heights of the Ultimate Emperor stage; what value was there in seeking such small benefits from a clan that would at most bring out Qi Drawing resources for him? With Seralize's support and assurance of his future, he had the confidence to not fetter himself so.

Over the timeskip, Seralize has trained sufficiently to reach Rank 4.5, and associated color magic strength. She has gained the techniques of Ultraviolet Invisibility and Regeneration and can cast all her buffs on others; additionally, she has improved the magnitude of her buffs significantly. (As a reminder, she has a general physical enhancement which buffs Might and Agility, and a sensory enhancement for sight, smell, and hearing that specializes in detecting and tracking movement, in addition to the newly learned buffs.) She still requires touch to cast buffs, but they will remain stable for a period of up to one day, though slowly decaying in magnitude as the enhancement consumes its own structure to power itself. Cast time scales with desired magnitude of buff; sensory enhancements may take about the time it takes to blink, while full physical enhancement may take several heartbeats.

Select the nature of the boon provided by the System, for accomplishing the subtask of Healing Su Chen's Eyes, two years in advance. Seralize will have spent a year cumulatively exploiting this boon, and so will have exploited a portion of their value.

[ ] A Fragment of a Rainbow Tome: Rainbow is the combination of the seven visible colors, but color hardly needs to be constrained to mundanity, even when visible. Open the skill tree of transformation: Seralize may access the conceptual powers of various supernatural purples. Initially, she will have access only to one: Irrigo, the color of forgetfulness. Naturally, this will be highly useful in stealth applications, and will offer a number of vectors of esoteric attack. More may be unlocked later.

[ ] A Jaunt through the Purple Zones: Seralize lacks imagery associated with purple enough to develop broader conceptual abilities. Currently her associated concepts come from pretty much just flowers, which only unlocks charm and poison-based applications. Seralize can now teleport to the Purple Zones once a day, and return at-will. A world fully purple will expand her horizons and unlock more options in the skill tree of mimicry; additionally, the nature of the world will greatly accelerate her raw power growth. Seralize will instead reach Rank 4.75.

[ ] A Core of Amethyst:
Perhaps Seralize needs not breadth, but depth; while more skills are all well and good, she does have to contest a Combat-type Cursebearer after all. This massive gemstone is filled with high-purity purple; it will double Seralize's power growth from this timeskip if she uses it to train, reaching Rank 5. It is not depleted after this use, but its power is not infinite. It will also unlock some durability-based applications: amethyst armor covering a portion of the body, for example.

My drawing skills have really improved.

Warning: This shit was done in Microsoft Paint and Paint.net. Using a computer mouse. Each image was made in less than 5-10 minutes per image.

Things such as, "quality," is not something you should expect. Know you were warned.

[Seralize] A Jaunt through the Purple Zones

Yeah, I gotta go with the long term raw power boost; this is a xianxia world after all. Rank is sufficiently flexible that it can substitute for a bit of versatility, even if its not comparable to specialist focus, which we might be able to augment with our powers over mimicry.

Hmm. Entirely unrelated to anything going on currently but I wonder if Progression ever reaches a point where each additional level (under Seram's system) represents more power than all the previous levels earned combined.
It basically has to, since you are expressing post-infinity values and hyperlogical concepts with finite system.

Or, if you want to do it the other way. Take level 20. Assume that every next level is all other levels combines +1%(i.e. each is more power than all previous levels combined). All that together would still come nowhere close to quantifying Accursed's power with level we were given.

People have talked about making use of Gisena's ultimate, but as I recall Letrizea also had a similar option related to decimation that could have been used against the rotbeasts. It would have cost lives, but not more then it saved, and that was during a civilian evacuation in a single metropolitan area, and Versch doesn't seem to have gotten much more powerful since then.

Before anyone starts memeing about suggesting suggesting hitting the people of Nilfel with decimation, I won't to put it out of the way that obviously we shouldn't have her use if innoncent are going to be caught in the crossfire. I feel like that shouldn't have to be said, but in this thread it definitely needs to be. But given the seemingly low range on the decimation drawback of unleashing the ultimate based on the above, the fact that Nilfelian soldiers aren't exactly relevant in this fight, and that Letz/versch seemingly is, is it possible for us to use the preparation time to get the legions and people sufficently away from the walls for her to supplement our opening salvo with said attack without harming any people on our side? If so, while i'm sure the greenery is going to suffer, I think most people of the people we're protecting would probably prefer that outcome to the wall of myth being breached, their friends and family involved with magic being abducted in mass, their troops being massecered, ect.

The Cardinal Geometer

Greetings, spirits, and demigods; deities and overdeities; devils and oni. I am Aomopurnzikthrlenib, or, in your tongue: the Awesomely-Radiant-Heavenly-Star-Quickly-Descends-And-Smiles-Upon-You!

Let's not kick around the bush and get to the point, shall we? After a lengthy discussion, a handful of my fellows and I decided to throw this gala and invite you here to raise some funds and present you with a completely new idea: The Cardinal Geometer!

For eons, the Ordinal Spiral has ruled in vast supremacy as the most direct path to the heart of magic that exists across the empyrean cosmos... but is directness the most desirable of traits for a magical system? I think not!

For generations, my family has believed the true beauty of magic lies in its ineffable, grand, and uncompromising scale! In its ability to work wonders, and the requirement of study, dedication, and practice! As such, we introduce the Cardinal Geometer - a direct competitor, nay, a conqueror of the Spiral!

The idea is verrry simple! Each one of us spirits is going to take turns adding a new level - a Cardinal - to the grand palimsest of the Geometer! Our target is to reach three-hundred and sixty Cardinals, each one containing not two, not three, but four spells, of which a prospective magus can only choose one!

That ought to really show those filthy Ordinalists! While the staggering total of 1,440 programmed reality-bending effects may seem intimidating at first, the very reason for this gathering occurring is so that we may overcome that barrier together!

Surely, more than one of you have heard of the Accursed's might? Of his blade by which stories end, and the inexorable determination in his heart that shatters heaven?

We must do no less than him in this situation!

Push onward, brothers, and sisters! Let us build together, a veritable Tower of Babel of ineffable magical lore! One Cardinal by One Cardinal, as if brick by brick, like the universe intended!

Each Cardinal represents the North, East, South, and West directions of the world. If a magus assembles the correct path, special attainments may be waiting for them.
Emission - The user marks a surface or non-living object within a moderate-to-long range (dependent on skill,) with an emission pattern that causes it to generate a certain physical force or law, chosen upon the selection of this Cardinal. The shape, duration, potency, range, and other parameters of the emission scale with the caster's skill and their Specialist Forms.

The possible emissions include: Light, electricity, magnetism, strong nuclear force, weak nuclear force, magical emanation, gravity, anti-gravity, heat, anti-heat, alpha radiation, beta radiation, gamma radiation, solid matter, liquid matter, gaseous matter, plasma, kinetic energy, potential energy, & up to sixteen (16) others.

Specialist Forms can be used to access new emission patterns or specialize in those already selected. It's possible to combine several patterns into a single pattern that selectively applies the properties of either one (light + kinetic energy for hard-light shield.)

Choosing this Cardinal permanently alters every higher Cardinal attained with the concepts of versatility and balance. This only applies in visible ways to some Cardinals.

Enhance - The user marks a surface or non-living object within a short-to-moderate range (dependent on Specialist Forms,) with an enhancement pattern that induces physical and ontological strengthening (dependent on skill and Specialist Forms, mostly the former.) Eventually, the user can cherry-pick specific traits to enhance while leaving the others in the dust in order to achieve a breadth of effects.

For example, a plain use of this spell would be on a firearm. A pistol marked with an enhancement pattern would jam 5% less often, have 5% less recoil, weigh 5% less, have 5% more range, 5% more stopping power, 5% more penetration, 5% higher muzzle velocity, etc. A spear would behave in accord with an anomalous set of physics; inertia would apply less from the holder's perspective, but more from the perspective of the opponent.

A skilled user can elevate certain traits over others. For example, if someone made bad cookies, the user would be able to enhance their 'edible' trait, so that, despite their blackened exterior and rocklike consistency, they were 50% more edible, even if, paradoxically, their nutrition and taste weren't that much better.

Sufficient amounts of Specialist Forms can unlock physical alterations. The gun's magazine would expand, the spear's blade would become longer or shorter as necessary, etc.

Choosing this Cardinal permanently alters every higher Cardinal attained with the concepts of convenience and simplicity. This only applies in visible ways to some Cardinals.

Explode - An easy and straightforward spell: the user fires a missile containing a spatially-dilated, stasis-locked explosion that continues to fly at a straight trajectory at a speed ranging from 300-450mph+ (depends on skill,) and then discharges its contents on impact.

For a typical user, this explosion is comparable to around half a kilogram of TNT, but it can be trained to rise exponentially higher. As the user continues to focus his attention on a given enemy, their explosions begin to attain moderate improvements tailored to fighting that enemy. Most usually, the missile itself will gain homing properties and a larger blast radius, but these improvements may be slower but more profound to develop against more complicated opponents.

In lengthy engagements, the development of missiles that alter the fate of what they explode, or cause the rubble from the explosion to assemble into golem minions serving the caster is among the thousands of possibilities.

Choosing this Cardinal permanently alters every higher Cardinal attained with the concepts of offense and escalation. This only applies in visible ways to some Cardinals.

Escort - The user creates and then maintains a constant swarm of nanites made out of magical force; the swarm floats around the user and serves as an ablative shield to defend against projectile weapons and at higher skill levels and Specialist Forms, against melee attacks as well. Furthermore, the swarm constantly runs maintenance operations on the user's body to ensure their continued survival.

A base nanite swarm is proficient enough to protect the user from up to 62.5% of the adverse effects of being targeted by a standard shotgun shell at a range of fifteen meters. It reknits minor scratches and wounds so fast they practically disappear in an eyeblink; up to 500 milliliters of blood can be replaced in under forty minutes, as can up to 3% of the user's total body mass in the form of flesh. The swarm can repair a shattered femur in under an hour with no adverse effects. The nanites will usually focus on organ repair and keeping the brain alive whenever possible; a skilled user with many Specialist Forms may indeed be close to a "zombie" in terms of durability.

Furthermore, micro-surgical optimization of the user's body, as well as direct muscle stimulation, keeps them supernaturally healthy, conferring a peak-human physique, impressive longevity, and works to comprehensively include and coordinate any genetic modifications, cybernetic implants, grafts, etc, in the user's body.

Choosing this Cardinal permanently alters every higher Cardinal attained with the concepts of defense and permanency. This only applies in visible ways to some Cardinals.

Wordcount: 1250
---
Basically, the idea is that each user in the thread responds to the previous Cardinal and writes up another set of four spells. The ultimate goal is to stockpile a grand number of 360 Cardinals in total, or 1,440 spells. It's a collaborative effort!

Assuming that the users in the thread participate as projected, this should feed us a healthy and constant stream of Arete that everyone can bolster. On top of that, it ought to be most interesting to read.

The main issue with that is how it would require Adorie to evacuate out of the way, which would lower our Praxis stamina a fair amount. The only reason Hunger can fight Procyon is the Refinement of Quickness or we'd just be hopelessly outsped; given that I don't think an uncertain gain is worth taking the risk, unless Adorie's mages can set up some kind of short range teleportation for her and the Legions so they can port them back in immediately.

Hmm. That said, if she could use it while not in Totality and just have Adorie in the cockpit of Versch with her to keep her safe, it might be worth it.

Secret diary of Aeira, the secret YA protagonist of AST: (Part 3 Finale) - 1600 Words. I have to thank Zampano for the inspiration

Day 31:

I love the way your golden eyes pierce fiercely into mine. We're meant to be. Our love is fated. What was his name again? Ah yes, Lord Hunger. I needed to learn more about him so I decided I will stalk him tomorrow.

Day 32:

We had a transfer student called Letrisia, who was obviously the Armament pilot. She was very assertive and pretty and I felt that we had a connection between us. Perhaps my youth romantic comedy is a different genre than I expected. I asked her about Lord Hunger, and the cute duchess happily explained that he is a visitor from a different time and he is her bodyguard. I felt a sting of jealousy but I could never be angry at that beautiful and noble face. I wanted to present myself to Lord Hunger. I was a forty-first century girl with nineteenth century taste in literature and twentieth century taste in music. I am sure I was unique enough to remind him from where he came from. I bit my lip as I thought of a plan. For as often as I bite and chew on my bottom lip, I'm surprised there's any left for my crush to kiss

Day 33:

I successfully stalked Lord Hunger as he slew a Prime Rotspawn. As expected from my fated one, he is strong and powerful. I even passed him by in the Kaguya while pretending to look elsewhere. He smelled of lemon, sandalwood and ash. Not like the other boys who mostly smelled of sweat and Axe body spray. Only Aobaru smelled of fire. I remember the first time I smelled him I pulled the fire alarm due to the confusion.

Day 34:

I initially hated Lady Gisena, but according to Letrizia she is a Maiden and has an oath for celibacy. This changed my perception of her from a rival to a potential onee-sama. She is extremely beautiful and knows how to use her wits and charms. Perhaps she is a kitsune and she can teach me some love spells.

Day 35:

Oh my gosh, Aobaru is fighting Lord Hunger for my honor and hand. I am beside myself from happiness. ….Wait I think they are just fighting and Letrizia is gambling on the side. This is not what I expected when I come to the school today. When I came to present myself to Lord Hunger I stuttered and blushed. My heartbeat hammers, my pulse pounds, and my throat clenches. This is what the meaning of love is truly about. Or maybe the near construction site is the cause for this. Lord Hunger offered to consume my element to empower himself. I nearly fell on my knees from happiness. My beloved was a vampire and he wanted my essence to be part of him for all eternity. I was beside myself but I had to present a proper front as befitting a good and noble lady.

Perhaps he could start paying for my services as a stealth operative. I was different than the other High Elementalists. I can't be categorized. Well, except as a girl from a privileged class, in love with 2 guys, and destined to save everyone. Well noblesse oblige. I swore a bit when he took me as a stealth operative but only a little. I wanted to show that I have depth and edge but I am still a good girl at heart.

Day 36:

I am preparing myself for a romantic adventure where we have to save a captured Ring. Perhaps this ring could land on my finger after the whole ordeal. I was stressed a bit from the pressure, not the boys and the government but this Temple of the False Moon. Also I had to topple the spa resort government when I get back. I had different plans for an out of city adventure. I always thought I would go on a summer vacation to a foreign land where I – a sixteen year old white girl can save the indigenous people and their minority culture from their naïve ways and earn their admiration.

Days 37-38:

I slept in the same cabin in the same bed with Letrizia. We played games all night and watched anime and after that talked about different things. Perhaps my love triangle would get a new side and become a love square. My youth have finally blossomed. Also I did some stealth, but I was perfect and nobody noticed. Lord Hunger praised me and I got the familiar feeling of stomach butterflies. I know that this time it is not food poisoning. Gisena onee-sama is smart and beautiful but she can't cook at all. I`ve seen the wielder of PoisonDart to create weaker concoctions than the thing that Gisena cooked.

Day 39:

We are destroying the Temple. I helped with the stealth and Gisena onee-sama deployed a devastating anti magic effect. I carried her after that but I was slowed a bit. Fortunately Lord Hunger swooped me into his arms and carried me like a princess on his shoulder. I sneaked a couple of gropes of his muscled torso and abs that I am pretty sure I can grind stone on. Back at the camp I ate Letrizia's delicious soup. Honestly I would like to eat this soup every day. I blushed at the forbidden thought and yet. I tried to talk to Lord Hunger and praise his sword skills but he was humble and went to train. I looked at him from afar. He always gave his uttermost and I couldn't help but admire his movements.

Day 40:

The lame teen who I rejected has been captured by armor and is attacking the spa resort. Also the Rotbeast is finally awake and moving towards the spa resort as well. I fear for the worst – Aobaru might die and I would lose one part of my love square. But Lord Hunger said he will save everyone. I was in awe of him and I felt that I finally let out a breath that I had been holding all my life. Or perhaps this was asthma attack.

Day 41:

The Rotbeast is dead and Lord Hunger has become King of the spa resort. As his personal stealth specialist my family status and fortune has been restored. I earned the respect of my father, the adoration of my peers and the admiration of the general populace. But I did not care about that – Aobaru was coming as a sort of squire to Lord Hunger. I knew what was really going on of course. Aobaru wanted me back but he understood as he is now he stands no chance. To defeat an enemy you must learn from the enemy. Aobaru will try to emulate Lord Hunger. As Gisena onee-sama said - you must cry to distract males to score points against them. We are going to the Realm of Myth, where the stories are true.

Day 45:

We are at the Realm of Myth and I am beside myself from happiness. Aobaru is actually the Chosen One of the Voyaging Realm. He is some sort of manager of the whole thing. Now I have a duchess, a king and a well off manager of vast empire in my love square. And here I thought I was nobody, forever doomed to mediocrity. Nothing could cloud my happiness.

Day 47:

That bitch Adorie is a bit too grabby with Lord Hunger. I know what I need to do.

Day 66:

I have infiltrated the Republic team and killed the pilot of the Armament Procyon. I entered the robot and immediately started it up. We had a rival queen to kill. No one touches the sides of my love squares and lives to tell the tale. Aeira Shadowcord out.

And for now a bit of reality:

A normal diary of a normal teenage girl in the Human Sphere:

Day 1:

I was doing my homework when some weirdo come to me and asked me to join his Order to topple the Imperial Throne. I told him to fuck off, I have homework to do.

Day 5:

I went to a party, I was lonely and talked only to the cat. I left the party.

Day 7:

I went to another party. My friends introduced me to some guy but we had nothing in common so it was awkward.

Day 15:

I did a presentation on how the fate of the Human Sphere depends on complex socio-economic factors rather than on band of misfits that can't seem to work together. I got A+.

Day 23:

Some kid come to the school and broke all the rules while saying "Carpe Diem" and "Carpe Noctem". He got kicked out later that day.

Day 33:

Teens find mysterious board game in attic of old mansion. Decide to play CandyCrush on their iPhones 445 instead.

Day 55:

I woke up and some guy was in my room watching me sleep. I screamed and punched him in the face. The police was called and we are pressing charges.

Day 67:

The only oppressive regime I have to topple are my parents who are constantly asking me what I plan to do after high school

Day 75:

I finally managed to beat my longtime nemesis – sleep deprivation and slept for 6.5 hours. I felt refreshed. This diary is boring. I will stop writing it, nothing interesting happens here anyway.

Author's note:
So far I have done around 4k words from the promised 15k so progress!

Hmm. Entirely unrelated to anything going on currently but I wonder if Progression ever reaches a point where each additional level (under Seram's system) represents more power than all the previous levels earned combined.
I've been assuming Seram's system simply makes each new level as big of a relative upgrade as the last one was. So the difference between level 50 and level 51 is as big as the difference between level 1 and level 2.

that's not possible. Level 1 million has infinite power. If Level 999,999 has infinite power, then it is the same as Level 1 Million. if it has finite but very large power, it is infinitely smaller then level 1 million. If you assume 1 million is higher alef... 1 or something, instead of alef null, then the problem just arises at whichever level has alef null.

Stupid idea: challange Procyon to an eating competition. have Gisena cook the food. Hungers probably eaten it a few times by accident, he'll be prepared. Procyon will not. surely even a Rank 10 armament cannot stand before the power of poor cooking.

Well, as posted on Discord..

Copy - The User duplicates nonliving objects, the size and complexity of which ranges from the size of a small sofa up to the scale of houses or supercomputers (exact scale dependent on skill). At sufficient levels of skills, duplication of energy, magical force and such are all possible. Duplicates may be permanent or temporary; Energy costs increase dramatically in the case of permanent duplication.

Specialist forms improve the scale and conceptual limits of this spell, and at sufficient levels allows one to overcome restrictions on living objects, magical artifacts and like. Consider the utility inherent if one was able to create copies of Excalibur, or alternatively create healthy organs for organ transplantation.

Choosing this Cardinal improves the Multiplicative power of all Cardinals. In conjunction with Explode, for example, one might summon two missiles instead of one at the minimum level of skill.

Convert - The User reshapes and/or transmutes nonliving matter and energy within a space, the scale of which varies by skill, usually no larger than a small sofa. The prime limitation of this spell is that of the user's imagination and knowledge; If possessed of relevant engineering/physics/etc knowledge, could transmute a chair into an thermonuclear fusion bomb, for example.

Specialist forms improve the scale and conceptual limits of this spell, and at sufficient levels becomes difficult to discern from ex-nihilo object generation. Extremely useful in custom magic item creation, repair-work and such. Overcoming the limitation on nonliving matter would see one have the potential to reach Panacea-levels of biomancy and beyond.

Choosing this Cardinal improves the Variability of all of the user's Cardinals. In conjunction with Escort, for example, Nanites would instinctively perform upgrade operations in addition to maintenance on the host's body.

Clarity - A spell with many functions pertaining to 'acquiring the truth'. Clairvoyance, seeing past invisibility, discerning lies, all that in one package and more. Highly versatile in information-gathering, and very useful in general learning as well. A Cardinalist with this spell is difficult to ambush or outmaneuver, where be it in combat or socially.

Specialist forms improve range, precision of the spell as well increasing the difficulty of detection.

Choosing this Cardinal improves the Precision of all other Cardinals known. In conjunction with Enhance, spell range is increased significantly and undesirable qualities can also be selected and then 'upgraded'. 'Upgrade' by 50% the weight of an opposing student's overloaded backpack for optimal results.

Cloud - A spell focused on occluding the user with confusion. At a baseline, cloud the user from vision, then from divination. At an advanced level, confusion, fog effects and so forth are possible. Highly useful in subterfuge, allowing the user's actions to be easily obfuscated and confused with other actions, and is especially useful in sabotage, where a basic use of the spell would allow one to convert organized files into optimally disorganized piles of material, with blame being redirected to handler's 'carelessness' and 'poor organization'.

Specialist forms improve the conceptual limitations; Memory editation, perfect forgeries and all are within the scope of the spell.

Improves further Ordinals with the concepts of Unpredictability. In conjunction with Emission, for example, invisible/curving laser beams or alternatively randomized bullet hell patterns.
