Wishing for Favor is pretty easily the best option! This is effectively a free 5% mitigation on apoc, +progression which we know is broken, and buffs to stats which we are currently in a great deficit of, and we know that some Apocryphal encounter WILL come soon.

As a reminder, we get OAF 2 instantly which gives us the following:

The character becomes unable to manifest a Shroud. In exchange, elevate all the character's Attributes and abilities by +0.1 tier along the Infinite Singularity Husk, +0.2 tiers in matters military.

The objective amount of Attributes this Advancement is worth compounds massively as the character's native ISH tier is raised, and stacks with other sources of ISH improvement to offer transcendental improvements to the character's fighting strength.

The enhancement of physical Attributes is quite relevant, but the improvements to military-related Intelligence, Wisdom, Charisma and Luck may be even more important.
However this Advancement much resembles [Once and Future] I on its merits - on its own without further ISH elevation it may underwhelm, just as [Once and Future] I relies on high base Rank to effectuate hyper-exponential scaling.

Do you know where I might be able to find rules on how Ordinalist Specialist Forms work? Examples would be appreciated. I have some ideas about this bovine malediction-carrier attending a certain academy out in the boonies of the Atlantic.
The quoted post has the relevant details:
Specialist Forms

At the moment he or she accesses a higher Ordinal, characters are presented with a choice between the two Forms. They can instead opt to acquire the Specialist Form of an earlier Ordinal spell. A Form elevated by Specialization has its general potency raised to the level of the spells it replaces, and improves its primary numerical parameters by an additional 10%. Thus, a spell augmented by Specialist Forms is in some views even more powerful than the native Forms of that level.

Multiple Specialist Forms will improve numerical parameters by an increasing amount. The second Specialization grants an 11% bonus, the third a 12%, and so on.

The Gardens of Enoch: Terrascape Academy Original

Various Thoughts & Info While much of what Dr. Christianten wrote on the blackboard was highly technical, there was some information which may be pertinent to you guys: A listing and brief summary of the first Seven Ordinals: 1 - Seeker, Shield (We’ll learn this today!) 2 - Conjure (store...

Thanks a plenty. Do you happen to know if the increase in potency also increases versatility, or expands on the uses of a given Ordinal Form? For example, if I had a Shield or Construct Specialist Form on, let's say, the 8th Ordinal, would I be able to use Shield or Construct to fly by imbuing them with kinetic force propelling me in a certain direction?

No particular reason for asking. The cow definitely won't fly at Mach-speed.

Guidance is required, since it comes recommended and because it gives us access to information that would normally be impossible to get.

Grace is required so we don't die.

That really only leaves one pick left. I'm not a fan of bringing Catherine back, so let's make Aobaru strong enough to handle things.

Its worth would be much greater in the higher-powered worlds than our current one, actually. That 5% chance of people knowing about Archangel onee-sama would be much higher once we get out of the multiversal equivalent of a podunk village.

Okay, so:

[ ] "I wish for the Seraph's guidance." - Allows Haeliel to open up her Advice Corner from time to time. You should pick this one.

The benefits of getting regular advice and instruction from a High Cursebearer cannot possibly be overstated. There's a reason this is described as the best pick in-text.

Everything else is negotiable, but we need this.

Er. A question, @Rihaku.

Two questions, actually.

1) Catherine was pregnant when she died. Will she still be if she gets resurrected?

2) Nothing to do with anything, but does she remember Hunger's real name? Will she tease him about how incredibly chuuni he became in her absence?

Favor is a nice option, and if we somehow earn more slots later, I'd go for it. In the current situation, though, the only alternate to this I'd be willing to consider would be replacing boosting Aobaru with enhancing our Sigils to get the rank 7 boost immediately. If that's even possible.

Eh. The reason it's described as the best pick is because Big Sis Seraph of Heroism wants us to pick it. Like, it's even a no-brained why she would want to. Like, imagine the last time she interacted normally with people without their eyes melting out of their skull. Only Cursebearers of sufficiently high progression and the Accursed himself are able to withstand the effects of her very presence and also be people she by and large would speak to without smiting them, since apparently the Accursed is leading a grand rebellion against the multiverse, which is shit.

So it's, like, advising Hunger on his problems probably sounds like a good way to relax and have fun.

The advice will still be absolutely legit and very valuable though, so maybe we should indulge her.

Favour is so overpowered. Getting an extra level of OaF without any contamination is worth it by itself plus a 5% apoc block chance!

also I want to read Hunger asking for it ☺️ Maybe he'll blush!

Someone I do not wish to tag said:
What is the Variant Form of Conjure?

Also, what is the power difference between slots? I.e. how much benefit would we get from taking Shield/Seeker as, say, our 6th level form?
Seeker would be overall as powerful as the Lance, but that power may or may not be expressed in as useful of a way. In this case it would do more overall damage / impact with more overall force than the Lance, but be slower, less focused, and less precise. On the other hand it would follow targets around with dogged determination and intelligence equal to if you were steering it, without requiring effort from your part. And you could spam tons of them.

Similarly, Akhena's 12th level Construct spell can make Constructs almost on the level of functional nanotechnology while within the bounds of her own body, allowing her to fight evenly with Ken even though the enormous g-forces involved should paste her after one exchange. It can go huge on scale, easily erasing a county from the map with pure ballooning force, or generate a veritable forest of prehensible limbs each wielding a monomolecular blade.
There's no direct statements about how much Specialization changes an Ordinal since it seems something that's more of a case-by-case basis, but this seems like a useful point of comparison. Akhena was aid to somewhat keep up with TIM too, so she was easily at 2-digit Mach speed already.

"Nonesense!" Haeliel waved him off, looking brightly around the room they occupied.
Your brilliance is blinding me Rihaku! :V

More comfortable with that?" She chirped. "It's more familiar, in some ways. But part of heroism is expanding past your comfort zone, so you'll just have to endure it and let Big Sis Haeliel completely spoil you!"
Ara Ara Hunger-kun~!
Already she proves worth the grind.

-[X] "I wish for the Seraph's guidance."

Bank the wish with the intent of using the Realm of Evenings deific effects to resurrect Catherine, or resurrect her there some other way.
Seraph grace gets Hunger some breathing room when he needs it most.
Guidance sets up better decision making habits early on. Few people will be able to guide Hungers Apocryphal mitigation efforts better than Haeliel.
Guidance + Grace is probably the best purchase from a Not-Dying Gang perspective since it cultivates the mindset for future survival and hands Hunger a tool well suited to covering for an inevitable failure.
Alternatively, any of the options could be switched for empowering Aobaru.

[ ] Plan: Theoretical Optimal Purchasing Efficiency
-[ ] "I wish for my junior's exaltation."
-[ ] "I wish for the Seraph's favor." (2 wishes)

Aobaru gets the maximal empowerment, Favor gets a scaling improvement on Forebear stuff, which means we'll actually buy it too. Probably best bang for your buck purchase.
Doesn't actually benefit from Haeliels experience much, unless she's anticipated that Hunger couldn't stop themself from snatching unexpected loot and so optimized her option spread with that in mind?

Am I missing some obvious synergy?
