[X] Sightseeing
[X] Regency

After a bit more consideration, and while I still want to tour about, I'm into making better use of Adorie as well. Depending on how we allocate the relationship +'s we may be able to unlock SJUC and get super close to Adories' EFB.

I don't think that SJUC is a relevant concern. To begin with, we should get SitS+OaF 2 over it, and by the time we get to SJUC we should already get additional Letrizia +s from Human Sphere plotline. It would be better if we got Aobaru +s as his EFB will hopefully give us some ish+, or Gisena+ because why not I guess.

Switching back because if we're doing Strain I don't want our third pick to be Sightseeing.

Because there isn't a viable plan that does something sovereignty Besides the 3 pick one 😔

edit

be the change you want to see!

You know what? Sure.

[X] Consolidate Power
[X] Regency

For me my priorities are Regency > Not boosting Apoc by 50% > Everything else

I wish there was a stronger 'don't get strain' option I could tick but in the end Regency is what I'm truly after.
A crucial step to take if you do not wish to be pulled back to the Voyaging Realm by the Apocryphal Curse for the express purpose of defending your existing lands. [+Adorie, +Adorie Rank, +++Elixir Strength, ++Elixir Prosperity, ++Temple Strength, +Temple Prosperity]

Look at this parade of benefits. Sets us up as a great king despite leaving Elixir, actually bothers to help all of those innocent civilians who sided with us while we took down their source of lifespan extension in Temple, and fulfills one of the most important Apoc mitigations we have: making sure that we don't have to get ripped away from a time critical thing in the Human sphere.
Or worse, the massive amount of salt that will be spilled if we let our subjects suffer because it's more convenient to us at the time only to reap the results after the fact.

Important thing to keep in mind, both Aeria and Aobaru have living immediate family in the Voyaging Realm. Gonna be a super fun moral and pragmatic choice down the line if we get the message 'pls help Elixir is under existential threat' and nearly half the team is 100% for saving their moms and dad and brothers.
What are we going to tell Aobaru, no we can't save your mom because we're busy?
What are we going to tell Aobaru, yes let's go and abandon people in the human sphere since we're undoubtedly going to be doing something important/actively saving lives at the time?
What are we going to tell Aobaru, go without us and let Chains of Fate screw us over in the worst time imaginable?

Best to sidestep this question entirely and never have it come up.

And because we're doing Regency, we should remove the landmines that prevent Adorie from doing it properly
While Adorie's grip on power is secure, there is still much to be done to ensure an efficient and just administration. The matter of the extensive territories conquered by the Lord Protector is a thorny one to resolve, as retraction of Augustine's conquests and restoration of the prior governments is a deeply unpopular position.
Assisting Adorie now could yield dividends in the future, as you would have not only a stalwart, but a formidably powerful and well-organized ally in the Voyaging Realm for the years and millennia to come. [++Adorie, +Adorie Rank, +Nilfel strength, +Nilfel Prosperity, +Elixir Prosperity]

Smoothing over this domestic issues will pay off in allowing the central figure of their monarchy to galivant abroad for other polities without the usual repercussions one should suffer from doing so while they have an ill gotten colony stolen by war to sort out first.

In addition to the above, take a look at the +s alongside this option we picked
[ ] Oblique Means. Consolidate the allied legions and summon reinforcements via Supreme Enclosure. Time is critical, but the benefits of an allied summon outweigh the substantial costs of inaction here. Some Astral being capable of re-capturing Versch or nullifying the Lord Protector's abilities would provide immense utility. Also, by proceeding at a slower pace Hunger can honor Adorie's request not to slay too many of the opposing legions. With Hunger's immense Blood Rank, it should be entirely possible to nonlethally incapacitate even such heroes as these with the Ring of Blood, given enough time. [++Adorie]

3+s from this option, 2+s from Oblique, and 5+s from Tears means that by the end of this adventure Adorie would be ++Rank and +10 relationship, unlocking her stupidly useful EFB before we have to leave.

We could sail out of the Voyaging Realm confident and secure in that all the people we saved will stay saved, while picking up no small amount of power while we did so and ensuring that our polities general quality of life is also improved.

Not only that, but the +++ to Elixir Strength and +++ to Elixir Prosperity alongside that protection means it's in a much better place to churn out Surgecrafters who can meaningfully help Hunger without causing their whole society to explode from random people getting too much power.

The only good thing about not being able to make my mind up is I won't be upset by whatever wins

@Wolfy
Why buy RR at full price if we can get picks (and specialized picks) from Pillars? I think I must be missing something.

Again guys, would you vote for something like this:

[] Let Go: Lose access to 1st, 2nd and 3rd Sign. Gain +1 Mental Stability. Reduce severity of next Apocrypha proc by 60%

Of course you won't, because it's not worth it.

Difference in value between 18 Arete and 4x1 pick and 25 Arete and 1 pick is not that big, and you get both a lot of opportunity value and you get to apply Progression++ to picks you'd otherwise spend on Dominions, thus making up for difference in Arete cost.

Y'know, one of the benefits of Consolidating Power I don't see talked about much is that Hunger will finally start developing some some nation-scaling bloodbuffing! Finally those Crimson Flare free upgrades have a chance to pay off. It'd be cool to see everyone become even more superhuman.

Yea exactly my thinking.
I would prefer Regency plus Sightseeing but Regency/Consolidate already had a 5 vote lead on that so 🤷🏽‍♂️

Honestly, and I hope people can forgive me for using such cursed words, but I feel like this would benefit from a consolidation vote.

I really think that if you are already voting Consolidating plus Regency, then not taking the extra effort for 2 whole Signs is extremely silly. There's no way anyone would pay 26 Arete for +Mental Stability and minus ~35% Apocryphal severity of the next proc, so why the hesitation just because it's framed differently?

I agree. I would like consolidation between the 2 leading plans, the max comfy vote and Regency plus Artifice.

Boss Gate
(Previously)
Only once I'm on the train do I realize I've been neglecting half my powerset. All focused on the Devil, no thought for the Door. ...Concerning, for multiple reasons.
It's also around that time that I realize my buff is wearing off. Apparently, the current unexpected side effect is that it makes me hyperfocus - and not necessarily in the right direction. It's almost a relief, knowing that's an issue. Almost. Withdrawal is hitting, and making me feel tired and hungry, like after a fever. We'll be arriving in less than twenty minutes.

[ ] More Power
I don't think I can afford to wait right now. Best-guess stab at mental enhancement suitable for figuring out what further enhancements I need, then implement the guesses that gives me. Accept that if my Element can corrupt me, it's not going to be something I can avoid.
*Hopefully spike to Hitori-tier competence, or even Control-tier. Tactics would really help with this.
*At minimum, I should be able to fight with portals a lot better.
*Time is really valuable right now.

[ ] Recalibrate
What I need is food and rest and a chance to think about things. We don't have to attack immediately, and the civilians are probably not savable in any case. Sit down and think for a minute.
*Take a hard look at what my powers actually do. Analysis will help with this. Possibly unlock some lateral applications.
*Not guaranteed to match Power's use of the travel time, let alone exceed it.
*Conventional wisdom probably advocates this?

(A/N: Next update might be a while; I need to get a good handle on the incoming fight. Also, 281 words.)

[D] More Power

Work on tactics tomorrow, when I don't have a headache.
