Better to start building the knowledge necessary to be a good king right now.

While the times are changing the ideal of the ''Battle King'' is still very potent in the common imagination. A king is still supposed to be a warrior in the minds of many so better start working on that right away.

I feel there has to be a catch here, but whatever full speed ahead.
I hope we get good at running our empire in peace. So few quests seem to consider that conquering does little good if you can't rebuild.

Scotland 1516-1517
The years of 1516-1517 were a time of Great havoc in Scottish politics the regent John Stewart held the King a virtual prisoner. All the while the French and English factions bickered in Parliament. The English faction managed to remove John Stewart from the Regency multiple times before the French faction Restored him.

Though one of John Stewart's few victories was that he managed to get Archibald Douglas your mothers husband to agree to peace. Though this was overshadowed by the massive blunder of letting the Queen Mother slip out of Scotland and into England.

Though soon after this victory tragedy struck your beautiful beloved little Brother who worshipped you like a hero was dead! You were devastated while you didn't know the details you knew that he had went to the angels and you would not see him again in this life.

[] God-The almighty took your brother from you

[] yourself-Your brother died of neglect it's your own fault he's dead.

Though things were about to get worse for John Stewart. Margaret Tudor Queen Mother was coming back to Scotland after the English faction forced through a treaty of reconciliation between John and Margaret.

Go away Margaret, seriously...

[X] yourself-Your brother died of neglect it's your own fault he's dead.

[X] God-The almighty took your brother from you

Even kings and princes are but tools of the almighty and must accept his will.

More OOC; option I is gonna backfire, no two ways around it, and options III might too depending on how that particular realisation would affect us. Better keep it simple.

No option to blame the Brits or the French... interesting
But seriously this is full of bad options. At least this bad option allows us to fix it easily lest we be too fucked to do anything.

Really we can't blame the French cause the regent is French and we can't blame the English cause we view their king as "Uncle Henry" and there queen as "Aunt Catherine" you view them this way thanks to your pro-English mother.

As for bad options.

Choice 1-act on talk your nanny has with servants and blame your French regent for your brothers death he can't do anything to you your king but this will give a big boost to the English faction.

Choice 2-you heard god grants and takes away life so logically he must have killed your brother

Choice 3-this will lead to you becoming more caring and affectionate torwads people like your mother and in the future your wife.

Nevermind then. Changing vote.
2 out of those three vote favor Margaret, damn.

[X] God-The almighty took your brother from you

Ok so if we want a smooth sailing with England the first. If we want to screw religion the second and compassion for the last.
Well that's better then the regent trying to kill us and a depression spiral. The faith option still is a bad idea.
edit: can't say I know this time period in history. Arlos why you hate Margret. Did she do bad shit.

I'm not quite shure why Arlos hates Margaret I'm assuming because he's pro-French and Margaret is the sister to the king of England and leads the pro-English faction.

@Arlos

Because, frankly she doesn't seem to have Scotland best interest in her heart at all. The Remarriage without giving a fuck about anyone but herself also show a degree of selfishness that honestly makes me uncomfortable for someone of her rank.
Well, I am not an expert on the time period, but from what was shown in this quest I can tell she would not be someone I would personally trust with ... anything, really.
It's just my opinion though, everyone is free to have their own.

Obviously its Atlanta call but my take from her OTL persona is that she does have Scotland interest at heart at the moment, if only because Scotland interests and her sons interest tend to go alongside. That being said, good intent aren't sufficient here: she just didn't seem to have the capacity to handle the job well and made a mess by trying.

[x] Regent John Stewart-You've heard rumors that the Regent killed your brother
Actually changing to this. This will ease the way to good relations with England while destroying relations with the French. This will promote cooperation in the British isles. This is a important move geography wise. We have to live with them something that will become more important as time goes on unlike religious and noble squabbles.

At this stage this pretty much mean England rulling over the place. We're far from the days when James VI would inherit (witch, mind you also ended up meaning England would rule the place...)
