[X] Better Roads- the Scottish road system is utter crap outside the main highways your mother has taken it upon herself to improve the roads of Scotland to English standards.
You dont need to placate france, they will ally with you anyway to face the english even if they dont like the fact that you withdraw from the war, after all the enemy of my enemy is my friend, also scotland just lost their king and the new king is toddler they are justified to withdraw

Let's roll the dice for Margaret's regency.

Oh...oh Margaret has held onto the regency but at a cost things will get interesting.

Also roads are winning by a comfortable margin.

from which point does it becomes a major success and not a normal one also will you have critical?

It becomes a major success when you roll twenty above the threshold for success it becomes a critical success when it goes forty above the threshold for success.

... by the way I have things going on in real life so your regularly scheduled update will be pushed back to Sunday or tomorrow.

Scotland: 1514
While Scotland got better roads this was not the main focus of Margaret Tudor. Margaret was embroiled in a battle to the death with the Pro-French faction in parliament.

Margaret increasingly came to rely on the powerful House of Douglas and increasingly developed an attraction to Archibald Douglas sixth Earl of Angus.

On the 6th of August 1514 Margaret and Archibald married in secret in the parish church of Kinnoull near Perth. Not only did this alienate the other noble houses but it immediately strengthened the pro-French faction on the regency council.

By the terms of the late king's will she had sacrificed her position; before the month was out she was obliged to consent to the appointment of John Stewart Duke of Albany to the regency . In September the Privy Council decided that she had also forfeited her rights to the supervision of her son King James V of Scotland.

Your mother would not allow her child to be taken away from her so she sprinted you away to Stirling Castle.

But not all was bad this year you became a big brother on the 30th of April,1514. Your brother Alexander Stewart was boring all he did was sleep and cry or at least in your opinion.

But your mother was focused elsewhere as she battled John Stewart for the Regency. Ultimately both sides had there big supporters Margaret had the backing of the Pro-English faction and House Douglas while John Stewart had the backing of the Privy Council and the Pro-French faction but who came out on top.

[] Margaret Tudor Queen Mother of Scotland routed the Privy Council and John Stewart at Stirling and secured the regency.

[] John Stewart received Margaret Tudor's surrender of Stirling and took custody of the Young King and the Wee baby Alexander into custody cementing his rule as regent.

At the risk of contradicting my earlier point, neither Margaret nor the Earl of Douglas showed much political acumen in OTL so I'd rather go with John Stewart. The text also give me the impression that troubles are gonna continue if Margaret retain the regency.

Ether way there will be trouble cause even if Margaret looses the regency she will keep fighting and if Margaret wins John won't stop fighting.
