A Realm Divided - A ASOIAF Nation Game

Well I put up what I am willing to do. I like being able to have people just relax and have fun and I think this could be fun in that people can mold the Kingdoms in the way they want.

What people want is to be top dog. Cue endless warfare in a scenario where no one has the dragons necessary to make their dreams come true.

Well, duh. Most of the other players were your blood enemies or something (at least, thats how it feels lol). Now they're gone, or about to leave due to the dawning realisation they lost.

As for that, honestly, why should I -care-? Like, with this, I got to see Elia live in a healthy/loving relationship with her husband who she occasionally [redacted] as well as slapping him upside head whenever he starts prophecy stuff too much.

I got to see Doran avoid being a bitter chair bound man, slowly rotting from within. I saw a knight of mine save my army by being a cavalry expert.

I got (through tragedy) the impetus for Arienne to become a far better person. I saw Oberyn give his life in a meaningful way, that in long term, meant that his sacrafice -meant- something.

What should I care for some no-name Gardener, Stark, Martell that we only know the houses existed?

Yes, but they managed to kill the game as they did in the only way that matters. And I don't care because we've got a potential new game which I know I will love.

I have never given a single shit about House Targaryen until I started this game, before I swapped to the Lannisters midstream in the first game I was playing the Martells and lost hard but when I got around to the Lannisters they were an entirely new house with new faces.

You only need to play a while and let events happen to make your characters come to life. Its not the interesting cast and diverse characters its the fact you get to build a world as you play. Trust me you will end up caring if you play just a while.

Well the obvious answer is to just play the games straight. Its hard to be top dog, you need to conquer kingdoms and that can take a long time.

If anything a world without a unified Westeros is going to have less death battles because when someone gets the upper hand they will face an alliance of all their neighbours.

I like world build, absolutely love it. Which I think in this case that could happen.
And I don;'t have the time to do it properly, which would always gnaw at me, with the amount of empty canvass available. With modernish westeros, we know whats what, cutting that down, but without that...

ergh. Its frustrating, y'know? You're a great GM, but I just dont see how I'd find the time to play your new game properly.

edit any @Mortis Nuntius your suggestion of sharing until im free, well... that sort of ties one down doesnt it?

It was just an idea.

Like the alternative is no game which just sucks even more.

Well, I am going to do the Pre-Conquest game, if you don't think you can commit right now that is understandable or just don't feel like it would be your thing that is fine also. I love GoT too much to just not have a game about it.

I understand why Skrev doesn't want to continue nodding this game, the salt production was running into overtime and that is incredibly stressful for a mod. So, either someone else steps in to mod or we just all deal with the fact that this is done and kve on. Either way, Viserys remains the Prince of Chill.

I was thinking just 0 AC (which wouldn't be AC lol) unless you guys want earlier. There has been a lot of new material that has come out about that era of late.

You having a panic attack is a bad sign. Next time lay down some more authoritative rules and don't take shit from anyone. You're such a nice guy and I saw how you got overwhelmed with bullshit easily. I didn't like that, like at all. If you're seriously going to re-roll a new game, you know my ass is down. I think it's too early for us to jump into the concept we discussed, but if you're rolling a Pre-Conquest game, my ass is down for House Gardener fo sho.

Yeah I am going to be pretty big on rules for this one. I know more what I am getting into this time around also. :)
