[x] Anderson. Protocol needs to be followed.
As much as it made you feel sad to do it, you slowly shook your head at Langley. The blonde's smile faded away, as her shoulders slumped.
"I need to see the Admiral, Langley."
The carrier merely nodded, "I know. I just..."
"Thank you. For caring."
A small smile came back to Langley's lips, as she moved aside so you could stand next to Captain Anderson. Who, in his defense, looked uncomfortable himself. Coughing lightly, the Captain gestured to where you could see the lights on BB...
Missouri. You would head to that battleship, to see the Admiral evidently in charge of Pearl Harbor. You knew this was to report in, protocol needed to be followed after all. On the other hand though, as you walked towards the battleship, you were equally interested in answers to your questions. There was just...just...
So much that you needed to know. Tired or not, you had to know.
I hope that the Admiral can answer my questions...

Even with that in mind, you felt a hint of trepidation when it came time to actually board BB-63. It felt...strange and uncomfortable, in a way. Here you were, a battleship that had to predate this girl by as much as thirty years. And you were going to walk across her hull? It would be akin to
South Carolina walking across your hull. It would feel...odd, and uncomfortable. But Langley was there by your side, that motherly smile on her face again. Her hand was on your shoulder, as Captain Anderson stood at the top of the gangway. Curious men, Marines by their uniforms, had started looking down on you as well.
Langley squeezed your shoulder, as she nodded up at those men, "The first time is always the hardest. I know how uncomfortable it can be to board another ship like this."
"Come on, the Admiral is waiting." Captain Anderson added.
Squaring your shoulders- you're a battleship, you can't let something so minor stop you -you step aboard USS
Missouri. Half of you expected anger or rage, the girl herself appearing to rage at you for standing on her hull. Instead, there was nothing at all.
Welcome back...Arizona. You are more than welcome here.
Letting out a breath you hadn't realized you had been holding, you turned to smile at Langley, "Thank you."
"Not a problem."
A light cough took your attention away from the carrier. Standing across from you, was a man in a uniform you instantly recognized. Even if the cut was different as Captain Anderson's, you would recognize it anywhere. Your hand came up in an instinctive salute, even as you snapped to attention.
"Admiral on deck!"
The man, who you noted had grizzled features and greying black hair, returned the salute, "At ease. Now, Captain Anderson told me who you are."
"USS Arizona, reporting for duty sir."
"Hm." The Admiral's gruff voice came out as a grunt more than a hum. "So you are. Arizona, do you remember anything at all, after you were attacked?"
"No sir."
Not that you didn't wish you did. As painful as your death had been...if you remembered anything beyond that, you would at least have context to your situation. Certainly, you would have known more of
Missouri, and perhaps the war that Captain Anderson had mentioned. As it sat, the last thing you remembered was fire and pain. The years, however many they had been, since then? Nothing, nothing but blackness.
"That will make this more difficult then." The Admiral sighed. "Right then. Follow me, and I will answer any questions you have, within reason. We need to get you up to speed, but I have experience with you girls. I know you are walking on fumes."
It would be great to deny that point, but you could feel the exhaustion in your...bones? Beams? Regardless, you felt tired and would need to rest soon. Rest and eat, as you felt the unfamiliar gnawing of hunger in your stomach. Now to ask your first question.
"Sir..."
[] Ask about what has happened since you sank.
-[] What is that structure over my hull?
-[] Write in? Max 2 questions.
[] Ask about the war.
-[] Which war?
--[] The one you died in.
--[] The one Captain Anderson mentioned.
[] Write in? Max 2-3 questions.
My first branching options, hopefully that worked out properly. Also, I edited the second post of the thread a bit, so we have a proper character sheet set up. If only I knew how to the do fancier ones I've seen in other quests (like the ME/KC one). Oh well, it works for what I need.
