You opt to use the next batch of vitae-wombs to help grow the Dark Angels numbers, while normally numbering in the thousands, these clones are heavily monitored, numbering only a few dozen, each gestating gene-seed that normally would have gone into a neophyte, instead being used to rapidly increase the number of gene-seed available to the Dark Angels with the entire cultivation process taking around 5-10 years, in the meantime a fresh squad of neophytes have joined the Dark Angels, using some of our training facilities for our elite troops, as they await an update on their legal status and where they will be deployed.
The fleet finally returns from their expedition into the Halo Stars, investigating the strange red light in the warp. The fleet arrives at Moran Secundus, using your station to replenish supplies, unload wounded and make light repairs before going their separate ways. The first thing you notice is that the fleet seems to be at around half the strength it left with, while the Rogue Trader Blackwood and Lord Inquisitor Gorean survived, the Magos leading the Explorator part of their fleet did not, and the fleet took heavy losses against a variety of foes. You are given a highly redacted after-action report by Gorean, which details their finding of several human worlds, long lost to the darkness, that have fallen into primitive savagery. They also found a Forge World of the Dark Mechanicus, initially thought to be friendly forces, they revealed their treachery in an ambush on some of the forward scouts, and constantly haried the allied fleet during its time on the expedition, Gorean in his report speculates that they likely force the primitive human worlds to pay tribute or otherwise harvest their populations for the nefarious means of the Dark Mechanicus. They also encountered a minor Greenskin Empire, they had fielded a large fleet, and employed large numbers of freeboota pirates in the Halo Stars, fighting the Dark Mechanicus, the Volanteans, their fellow orks and any other ships that came in their path.
Finally while they did not reach the red light, they did encounter what they believe to be a Volantean pocket empire on the edge of galactic space, as they encountered a powerful fleet, and Gorean believes that they be mustering for a campaign against the western Imperial frontier....
In light of this new information you may want to come up with a long-term strategy to deal with these threats
