A light on the frontier:40k Planetary Governor Quest

[X] Establish a salvaging operation in the debris field.

Hmm would it be possible to use the ancient station to upgrade and build up our modern station? Or vise versa?

Turn 124
You decide to start salvaging operations in the ship graveyard. Starting with the recently destroyed pirate ships

2x Mechanicus heavy cruiser
3x sword-class escort
3x infidel raider

Anything that rolls over 10 is considered in a state to rebuild, anything less is salvageable scrap metal.

2 Mechanicus heavy cruisers and an infidel are repairable. In the future you can get them fixed up at your dockyard.

The ship graveyard is massive, with scans revealing ships from various eras and origins, with a majority of Imperial craft but a sizable minority of xeno craft as well.

A contingent of void troopers and umbral knights will be providing security while tech-priests, tech-savants, servitors and specialized staff survey individual wrecks and cut into the ships to search them for valuable salvage.

Going by the wrecks that are closest to being sucked into the Black hole, you have 3 options of where to search first.

[] A sundered Imperial Battleship, from the early Imperium, also compacted against several smaller Imperial vessels
[] A massive xeno ship, covered in large domes that seem to have been breached, likely Aeldari in origin.
[] A heavily destroyed ship of unknown origin, smaller than the other two choices

We can't use any xeno ships except as a gift to the local Admech or the inquisitor… Might as well try and get something we can repair and use. I wonder if we can trade a bunch of things for a 'Warrant of Trade'?

Perhaps we can trade some other hulks for crew as well. I don't think we'd be able to use them otherwise anytime soon.

@dh188709 So both cruiser, 1 escort and 1 raider are repairable assuming rolls are in the order you listed the ships.

I don't know why, but I have the feeling that there is something precious in that ship.

I agree with Fortebraccio. This might be golden era or dark era tech hopefully.

We also still have a Idolator-class ship to repair from the pirate attack on our system.

Since we are going to massivly increase our fleet numbers we need to invest heavly in space and navy infrastucture.

I propose we use the towed station as our new Navy headquarters slash Academy to train our future crews, navy officers and void marines.

We better starting giving these hulls away, marcher lord or not this is too much tonnage for a governor

I expect we will get a visit from the Navy once we repaired all the ships with a requisition form in hand.

This is why I think we should start trading. @dh188709 Can we get some numbers on what we're allowed and what point will the Navy or someone else coming nosing around?

We could probably 'donate' some to the Space Marines next door as well in exchange for marine guards or something. I'm not too familiar with charter rules, but would giving us some count against thier total strength?

We are not furnishing and crewing a battleship on top of these heavy cruisers and escorts, it'll take hundreds of thousands of people. We'd literally need to spend the next few dev actions just increasing population growth or getting immigration for it to be possible. I'll take the mystery box instead. Similarly we don't have anything that can mount that grade of weaponary yet, maybe on the stations we now have.

I wonder if we can substitute some of these ships for our tithe instead of troops?

Just to be clear aside from the pirate ships we just fought the rest of these ships are not recoverable wrecks and we are just salvaging/looting them. There may be a special instance where they are but generally not.

Even then I'd go for the battleship first, it's the only one that's likely to have equipment we can use.
Like hangers full of tanks and armouries full of elite grade gear.

Plus we can use parts stripped to repair the rest of the ships.

I think we should see the pro and cons of all this thing, isnt?

[] A sundered Imperial Battleship, from the early Imperium, also compacted against several smaller Imperial vessels

Pros- it is a battleship, the biggest thing and it seen it ether pre heresy but barely post heresy(maybe before war of the beast?) before the might of the imperium went to the gutter with similar wreck, it look this will be a future proto space hulk, meaning a lot what can be salve will compatible with modern imperium stuff.

Cons- maybe it have tyranids or anything of the sort and probably everything is to wreck to be nothing more that we have already

[] A massive xeno ship, covered in large domes that seem to have been breached, likely Aeldari in origin.

a MASIVE ship with dome and aldeari.....by the god emperor, that thing IS a craftworld, one that probablyw as destroy by....well it could be anything, from chaos to nids to orks or maybe it was destroy in the fall.

[] A heavily destroyed ship of unknown origin, smaller than the other two choices

A sort of mystery box here, it was heavly destroy so it saw battle agaisnt something......dunno, its very much the ??? options.

If you ask me, I will go for the craftworld, it can have a lot of eldar shinies that we can exchange for ad mech and inquisition or even blackwood and probably get more information from the eldar, if it have eldar spirit stone then maybe we can grab them and exchange it for favour and probably get good reputation with then.

I will go with the eldar ship
