Interesting News Everyone! It's a good news that you didn't go fight Scarecrow! He rolled a nat 100 on his defense! I have something special planned for this!

 
..... Oh sheet..... Are all the baddies getting boosts? From two face having short bursts of speed force to Mister Freeze getting natural cryokenisis and now Scarecrow getting a FREAKING YELLOW LANTERN RING.... Heck, even our dad is now bulletproof. It is like all the baddies got a power up... I wonder if batman will become the mystic version. The kind who uses chi and chakra to do stuff like bursts of super strength, making himself more scary, short bursts of super speed (not flash level, just faster than peak human.... barely), sensing guilt, and feeling, as the comics put it, the "Blood that stains the Human Soul when it kills a sentient being".

From what we saw in the previous fight, Batman seems to be heading into super science territory, considering he's already wearing his Arkham Knight style suit. I think after Scarecrow Batman will simply start integrating alien tech to strengthen himself.

Or he could do what he did in one arc and try and synthesis a type of Venom without the side effects.

Hopefully Scarecrow will remember Rook as a useful ally, rather than a target.

    You wanted to leave, to just take Tara and Melissa with you to go find Deathstroke so you could pay him to hunt down Scarecrow and end him. Releasing a breath you didn't know you were holding you calm yourself down. As you calm down and look around you realize that your school mates need you. Speaking up so that everyone can hear you as you address the entire cafeteria.

    Partial success, The adults admit your ideas are good but they can't do them.

    "Everyone, we need to calm them down. Maybe we should gather them all up in the auditorium? Like how Schools that are used as shelters are and get some blankets and pillows for them to make them comfortable." Everyone stares at you for a second before trying to calm down their friends or students. You even hear one of the teachers mumbling about how all the emergency blankets were given to the homeless shelters because of the fire and robot invasion.

    Melissa pats you on the back. "Again Add… Thanks for getting me out of that. I… I don't want to talk about what I saw, and this is as serious as I'm going to be for today. So! Let's go calm down our schoolmates!" Tara frowns at your friend as Melissa plasters a smile onto her face. "I don't think repressing it is good Melissa."

    Melissa in her seemingly infinite wisdom blows a raspberry at Tara, and skips away to help your schoolmates.

    New Green Lantern arrives, and no one dies from fear outside of Gotham High School!


    Working with the other students and teachers you managed to calm down the majority of those still frozen in fear. As the rest get worse and worse the teachers, and staff quickly carry them away from the other students into the different room…

    A lot of them didn't come out of it, and you almost felt like crying but you didn't. Breathing in slowly you let out a breath, before you repeated the breathing exercise until you calmed down once again. Looking around you spot your friends near the water fountain, and notice that a good chunk of students have gone missing. They probably left school to check on their families or to get away from the school.

    POV: Scarecrow

    Yes. Everything was going perfectly, the city was awash in the Yellow Spectrum of Fear and the Negative Emotion Engine was feeding him the screams and bravery of the people of Gotham. It was perfect, one step closer to saving them all. Fear was after all the oldest emotion, therefore it was the one that pushed progress the most. You wanted Gotham to shine like Metropolis, and for that to happen the people of this city needed to plummet into the yawning abyss of terror again and again. You adjusted you gasmask to lower the amount of fear toxin you were breathing, you had to be at one hundred percent for this, just because the Justice League was scattered around the globe that didn't mean they'd try to stop you in their delusions that you were hurting the city and its people.

    The roar of an aircraft interrupted your thoughts, and a black shape fell onto a distant roof top with a man in red and a green man following it. "Patients, get ready! Batman, Shazam, and Martian Manhunter are here." You wish they didn't oppose you, but they had your dreams and you had yours. Batman would at least understand you on some level.

    A voice boomed out from down the street as Shazam landed gently. "Surrender yourself Scarecrow, you've hurt enough people." The Martian phased out of the floor next to the man dressed in red, and you knew Batman was around here somewhere.

    "Never! I need to save Gotham, scare all the criminals and the corrupted straight! Scrub every soul clean with fear until we're all pure and selfless shining beacons of humanity!"

    The Negative Emotion Engine Explodes, engulfing Scarecrow, and a calm voices speaks up…. Also gains 5 retcon points

    A black shape appeared in the corner of your eye, and as quickly as you could you pressed the fear pulse button. Sadly it wasn't enough, Batman's fist connected with the back of your head. As the fear pulse burst forth from the Engine the hit caused you to trip and fall onto your ingenious device. Warning lights blinked rapidly even as Martian Manhunter screamed out in agony and rocket off towards the bay.

    Shazam and Batman looked like they were going to leap at you, and take you down for good, but that was when yellow filled your vision. All you felt was fear, it felt like is was trying to devour you whole, but you knew better. Fear must be accepted if you are to conquer it, to rule your own fear, and bath in it constantly! "Jonathan Crane of Earth, you possess great fear in your heart, and the ability to bring it out of others. Thank you for founding the Yellow Lantern Corps."

    When you stood up and looked yourself over you found that your outfit had changed. Before you looked like a Scarecrow, but now you look like someone dressed a Scarecrow up in decaying armor and on your chest was an emblem similar to the Green Lanterns. As you looked yourself over and stare at the yellow ring on your finger you speak words that were your own, but foreign to your mouth at the same time.


    "In Blackest Day!
    In Brightest Night!
    I'll turn all your fears into shining light!
    Let those who try to stop what's right!
    Scream endlessly about Yellow Light!"    ​

    Smiling you turn to Shazam and Batman. "With this Yellow Light I'll make Gotham into a better place, no matter what. It's a promise you can trust, I'm a Doctor after all."

    Scarecrow Attack Roll!

    You weren't used to the ring yet, so you decided on keeping things simple. Before the heroes could do anything you focused on their fears, loss for Batman and the revealing his greatest secret for Shazam, and shot beams of yellow light at them the size of cars. Batman was shot back into an abandoned storefront before he got back up with barely a grunt. Shazam on the other hand was holding his own against your simple beam attack, sliding back on the road and actually pushing your attack back towards you for a single moment in time, but then he tripped. The bream carried him through several buildings, that should hold him for a while. As you refocused on Batman you heard a voice boom out over Gotham.

    "In Brightest Day,
    In Darkest Night,
    No evil shall escape my sight!
    Let those who worship evil's might!
    Beware my power,
    Green Lantern's Light!"    ​

    The man above you wasn't the Green Lantern, at least not the one you know about. For one he isn't wearing a little mask, but the most obvious reason was that he was African American. His voice was smooth and commanding. "This is John Stewart of the United States Marines and the Green Lantern Corp, surrender Scarecrow!"

    "N-" You never got to finish your sentence before everything went Green, and then Yellow… You weren't sure where you were, all you knew is that the Negative Emotion Engine was in front of you pulsing with the Yellow light of Fear and growing by the second. That was your last sight before you passed out.

    So John Stewart is a Green Lantern now, and Scarecrow is the first Yellow Lantern. Parallax likes him.

    Even if we single handedly reduced the deaths, high probability of the government kriffing up and blaming us or the school faculty.

    They'll more likely blame Wayne Industries, as they were the ones that build the fear machine. Huh, I realised that Scarecrow might replace the Joker as 'the villain Batman created'.

    I think he's our drama teacher. Having that many kids die on his watch is likely to put anyone under mental strain.
