Well, Jacob already enjoys duelling. This is just an upgrade on that.



i am pretty sure we will keep the love for riddles and stuff, it's already part of his established character. It just means he may also enjoy fights and adventure to the same extent.

Yeah, him becoming the next Dumbledore is definitely what I was seeing too. Though, while also a scholar he is definitely going to be a more Indiana Jones type.
 
Great chapter with a lot of things happening. I love the pay off for Rune Club, Jacob learned a lot about Runes andnow has access to warding. Possibly the most interesting things is that Jacob understands Hogwarts more to the point he can explore more I think learning about runes is how Tom found the Chamber of Secrets. The fight scene was great as always, I love how it and Jacob's mental state where described during it.

I feel like this fits the eerie calmness and confidence Jacob has when he fight. Also it fits well with the rest of his character, hopefully the trait can be evolved again to get rid of the arrogance parts. I'm worried of the other option because making Jacob more bloodthirsty could go really wrong especially when he plans on developing more in the Dark Arts.

I can see that but imagine Indiana Jones with the power and genius of Dumbledore



And also yea I want Jacob to learn the dark arts but as safely as it can possibly be learned so slow and steady and also more the theory then the practical and not just diving into the deep end which the blood one might make him lean towards
 
Also, I do agree that I am not very taken with either trait, but I choose

The superiority part can probably be dealt with later. I mean, it isn't that unrealistic that a very precocious and intelligent thirteen year old feels a bit superior to others. At least Jacob has friends that will try to get his head out of his ass if he really starts getting high on his own power and intelligence.
 
The big problem with having the awakening genius trait is the overconfidence. Considering what we are going to be doing, Jacob overestimating himself would be quite a dangerous thing, more dangerous than him merely enjoying combat. Imagine going into a fight we aren't actually properly ready for. Arrogance is the real killer in the type of shit Jacob plans to do.

Hey, QM. Can we maybe on occasion pick between two or more traits that, while being interesting, don't have signifigant negatives?

Personally, I'm a bit fatigued how us picking our poison a lot results in us having a lot of poison. :/.

Ultimately, my favourite parts of the quest includes when Jacob is truly enjoying himself and living in the moment whether it's while solving riddle or duelling shit. Calmness or arrogance seems relatively uninteresting in comparison, Jacob is doing this for fun in the end.

Hopefully we see some more discussion surrounding the Slytherin option given we know it was added centuries after the castle was founded, as well as getting into how the castle itself was modified by the various stidents/teachers/Headmasters throughout the years.

TBH the only job I can see Jacob having would be as one of the Unspeakables of the Department of Mysteries...

And more in a field agent than anything else.

Ew. Why would you want to work for something as dysfunctional as the British government?

Mostly I see Jacob traveling the world and poking things that shouldn't be poked. Though he'll probably need some sort of job to provide him funds. Probably go the same route as his parents and sell potions and alchemy stuff.
