[X] A single Slytherin – Tracey and you have never verbalized your friendship. Her facing down her own house-mates to show flag was as much a sign of support as you could imagine. Your rivalry is unbroken, but it was built on mutual respect. Ask her to join you at the Lake. She will get to read some of your spell notes, while you explore the Lake. She'll be more than happy with that trade-off … even if you are not sure what kind of monster you will be creating with that.

[X] Day of Ravenclaw – You are heading out to explore the Lake. Ask your house-mates if they want to join you. Whoever might like to join, will come down with you and see you off while the group relaxes near the water. They will be pretty surprised by what you are up to.

I missed one voting set because I did not have time to read post, but I'd have voted for the winning vote anyway...

As for this one, I think I will abstain. I think all three choices are equally important and it might just be a quest set-up, but it feels to me that it is pushing a bit too heavily into any specific option. Frankly, I'd have preferred it if we have some post-friendship-realization scenes with each of the three options (Ravenclaw, Megan/Justin and Tracey) and then let random chance determine who explores the lake with us. Kind of like whoever is there at the moment comes along?

That said, I am really happy we are breaking out of this shell and finally actually considering possibility of friendships :)

Also gives us an in to inviting her to Delving Club when we inevitably create it next year in order to have backup for exploring the Lovecraftian ruin complex under the mountains.
Gonna be honest, I don't see any way Jacob will or should share the Mountain exploration with anyone for a few reasons. It was noted that that specific exploration option was extremely dangerous and it was sort of hinted at that it should be conducted by Jacob alone (at least that was my take away from those chapters). Choosing to have Jacob explore that ruin with anyone else is explicitly putting their life in danger (something I'm not really willing to gamble with).

Furthermore, Jacob is a prodigy and as such will advance faster than his peers and the fact of the matter is that he has advantages that many of his peers don't. As such, any of his classmates that Jacob takes with him will be someone he has to constantly watch out for while trying to keep himself alive. Basically, Jacob himself had a tough time of it and I don't think any peer of his has something that they could bring to the table that would be worth the risk. That isn't even touching the fact that if a classmate of his were to die there then Jacob would be screwed. Or if they decide they need to tell a teacher about the place because it is too dangerous to be left there. After all, a normal student's reaction to seeing the corpses of former students isn't to explore deeper. Jacob finds the place fascinating, other students are likely to find it horrifying and may feel the need to tell a teacher in order to stop Jacob from getting hurt. The Mountain exploration is serious business, if Jacob is crazy enough to take someone with him then he better be prepared for them to die.

Kind of want to grow a little closer to our Housemates. Though any of the options look pretty interesting.

Maybe in a few years it would have been reasonable to take a invite a of the more talented students, Goldstein and... Boot (I think Boot was noted to be talented and driven?)... except Jacob used dark magic to bind something, and it tends to not look great to have done that. That's the main reason I think he shouldn't take people with him.

But if there are no signs of dark magic or anything sketchy that can be linked to Jacob, then a few highly talented fifth years or above would be able to more that pull their weight, provided we lean on them to be ready to turn back when the going gets tough. (Jacob is also a fifth year in this scenario)

And also to get some cheap broomsticks to go down that really long corridor faster.

Hmm... For some reason, I think this is exactly the train of thought the group whose corpses we found had. I think that Jacob should keep going there solo.
Nahhhh. It'll be fine. In and out, a quick 20 minute adventure.

Not like anyone ever died trying to explor- oh. ohhhhh.

Ok. Maybe. But regardless, this is very speculative about something very far in the future. That whole thing just screams to me "final dungeon, you must be [this level] to enter"

Edit: But for realsies, if Jacob does intend to go down there, a broomstick for traveling down that long passageway is an appealing idea. I get tired thinking about that long walk.

I wonder if we can use the do something action to train our magic sense ability?

Tracey is tempting, but I'd rather form some connections with our own house. Plus they've been helping out Jacob by looking after him.
