-[X] Mari Amano and Ryou Yukimura, your old friends: A pair of your old high school gang who've somehow been together since the last year of middle school. You're pretty sure that the two of them are going to get married and be one of those couples that stays together until they both die within days of each other at like, age one hundred or something. They're good roomies, though you have to put up with some, uh, noise now and again. You share a two-bedroom apartment that gives you some more amenities but its cramped. Mari is going to university like you and Ryou got work as a sort of guide-slash-warden at a wilderness park up in the hills around the city. He works there in the spring through the early fall and then gets to take the winter off, basically, since he's pretty frugal and can live off his savings. It helps that when he IS working, he's pulling twelve hour days and sometimes has to spend weekends or even longer up at the park.

I mean would like to play a Computer Gal, I like to budge her to the diction on becoming a Videogame designer.

She shares your love of cheesy horror movies and anime, though she's in an engineering program instead of your social sciences. You've gained some confidence over the years and you're pretty out about who you are and who you like. Deep down you think it might be a way to get back at your mom for how weird things got at the end of high school, but mostly it's just easier to life like like this. Plus this way if someone is gonna make a big deal out of it you know up front without any wondering.

Didn't expect this to show up so fast, but I'm by no means complaining! I personally like the Anthropology angle for Hanako here because, well, it's the closest 'real' degree that's out there to her old Occult club in high school, so it feels like a nice, natural progression.

I mostly expected that Erika and Hanako wouldn't be together anymore in the sequel, but it still hurts, especially since the break-up seems to have been pretty bad. Still living together with her would be a very ineresting option, but also peak awkward and drama from the get-go, so let's meet the new person instead.

Oh no, we lost Erika. She was cute. Oh well, childhood relationships don't always make it.

It went well enough we should stop hiding. With supportive parents, it's a lot less scary.

New friend! I want to know more. Also, rooming with couples is disaster fuel in my book, when you're 3.

i feel part of the reason childhood/high school relationships, (romantic of otherwise) don't last anymore, (because they used to, its why the highschool sweethearts meme is a thing) is because of a lack of communication and the expanding of horizons that modern adulthood brings. i know people who were high school sweethearts that i went to school with that are still together twenty years later, (yes i'm an old fart) but to many of them split up and found others, (surprisingly still in the same group of friends) to mary

Woo, I'm in on the ground floor this time! My only regret with the last one was that I showed up at the tail end and only got to vote on like two things. Now...

Hooray, sequel quest! It's sad that the Erika relationship didn't last, but such things happen.

I'm torn between Mari and her boyfriend and living with a new friend, to the point where I just flipped a coin for it.

The lease ends at the end of this term but you don't know how you're going to survive that long. It's been brittle and awkward and you've just kind of avoided each other. At this point you're kind of counting down the days until you can move. You don't see her half the time--she seems to keep herself locked in her bedroom when you're around and does her best not to talk to you. Yeah. Still some bad feelings there.

I don't see them not living together if at all possible, so they'd still live together after the break up.
