[X] All three. You think having a balance would be best.
You take a moment to think about your answer. Choosing one or the other would be the "smart" thing you suppose. No need to try to do everything. You'll end up burning yourself out and yadda yadda yadda. There would be some truth to that if sensei were asking you about what you think you need to work on. Or what you believe is your best aspect. But, he didn't. He asked what you valued the most of the options he gave you. When you think of it like that the answer becomes clear.
"I'd have to say, all three at once," you respond to him. The fact that he doesn't say anything in response makes you continue, "Well, you can't exactly have one without the other two. If you focus only on your body, then you'll be weak of mind and weak of heart. You can punch hard or survive lots, but will probably fold to a bit of stress. Can't move your muscles without the will to do it, or knowing the best way to throw a punch."
"Hmm, go on," sensei waves his hand through the air.
You rub the back of your neck as you continue, "Mind and heart are kind of the same. Both keep you moving just in different ways. Your mind is what tells you how you should be doing something. You use it to puzzle out the best way to move forward without tripping over your own feet. Your heart is what tells you why you should be doing something. Why you should push yourself to get up everyday. Why you should try to better yourself and all that. It's what gets you to act on what your mind puzzles out is the right idea."
"But, focusing on one or the other would be a mistake. Your mind will make you take too long thinking about what you should do rather than actually doing anything. Your heart will make you act on stuff without thinking, which can lead to you tripping over your own feet. And without the body, neither the heart or mind can really make what they want to do a reality. It's why you need all three in balance. Though that's easier said than done," you admit as you reach the end of your diatribe. You start to chuckle while scratching at your cheek, "Uh, sorry if that doesn't make sense. I'm not really used to talking about stuff like this. So, it probably sounded pretty dumb."
"Not at all," Sensei says with a short tilt of his head, "your reasoning was well spoken and understandable."
"Well, thanks sensei," you feel a bit of pride at his praise. Then silence falls over you again as he just continues to stare at you. You start feeling a bit self-conscious...something you don't usually feel when that happens. You cough into your hand as you try to get used to his intense gaze.
[???]
"If that is the case," sensei Hazma places a hand on your shoulder. You stiffen up as he does so, his expression still an intense one, "I believe you have a good foundation built to live up to those values."
"I'm sensing a but here," you state matter of factly.
Your sensei nods, taking his hand off your shoulder and crossing his arms, "But you must cultivate it if truly wish to keep to your values."
"And this is the part where you tell me not to try to do everything cause I'll end up doing nothing?"
"No, it is not," sensei takes his hand off your shoulder. You look at him confused as he crosses his arms, "I did not ask you which you wished to work on, after all. Just which you valued more."
"Oh. Why?"
"Because, as far as improving yourself is concerned, I personally do not believe there is a specific way to do so," he shrugs at you, "If one wishes to specialize and focus on a specific group of pursuits, they should do so. If one wishes to attempt to become proficient in multiple fields at once, then they should do so. Both paths have their hardships. Both paths have their bright moments. Both paths will bring both victory in some areas and defeat in others. And no matter what, there will always be ways to deal with the problems that come about from your choice."
Then he raises one of his finger, "To me, what truly matters is that you commit to your path. That you do not start walking, but constantly look back to think about what could have been. To not second guess yourself as you move forward. Only stray when you believe doing so would be for the benefit of yourself or others. But understand that doing so will come with its own cost."
You absorb most of his words like a sponge. It does sound like the kind of sage wisdom that you're supposed to take to heart. That and it's the most amount of words you've heard him say since joining this club. As you do so, you stop and question, "But, why are you saying this to me?"
"As I said, I believe you have the potential to become greater than what you are. Perhaps not the greatest, but great nonetheless. And it is my duty to help you make use of that potential. Should you choose to," he explains with a single nod of his head.
"Oh? So, does mean I get some special training with sensei?" you ask earnestly, a smiling up at the older man.
"Only if you wish to. If you ever have a moment, and you feel that you have reached a point where you're unsure how to proceed, merely seek me out. I tend to spend my days resting in the gym or in the faculty room. I'm always willing to make time for my students," he begins to walk back towards the locker room. You follow along as he does, mind trying to make sense of everything that he has said.
"Uh, no offense sensei, but I'm not sure if you can really help me," you as you think about how far you've really gotten with Martial Arts. Seteke and Sakura have both freely admitted they have nothing more to teach you. You don't think that sensei, the person who supposedly taught them, would be able to teach you anything new if they can't.
For the first time since you've met him, you swear you see sensei Hazma smirk. It disappears a moment later as he continues, "Firstly, I never said to come to me for Martial Arts training. You can, but I would be fine with you coming to me for help with anything. Whether it be school work, life advice, or even assistance with finding a career path."
You chuckle a bit at his words, "So, basically stuff that all my teachers tell me to come to them for?"
"Indeed. And second-"

...What just happened?
You were just walking alongside sensei one moment.
And the next he had a hand to your throat.
You blocked.
You know you did.
You can feel the fact that his hand hit your own when you brought them up to block the attack.
But it didn't matter.
They were blown away the second his rock like skin made contact with your own.
You're eyes go cross-eyed as you observe the calloused, scar covered, karate chopping hand that has stopped only centimeters from your neck.
"I think you'll find that I still have plenty to teach you," sensei Hazma says before pulling his hand away. He continues walking off, "Now come along. There is still celebrating to be done."
...
"Yato," you whisper once you're certain sensei is too far away to hear you, "please tell me you saw that. Please tell me that you saw sensei's attack coming at me."
"...I apologize, Lord Hayato. But...no. No I did not."
...Holy shit.

The battle between Amaterasu High and Satsuma School has ended. From what you've been hearing, Amaterasu won. And their school was the one with the other Sole Participant. Apparently, they chose to fight all three Satsuma students at the same time. It was a close fight but they came out on top.
Now you just have to wait for the next batch of matches to be called and to find out who you'll be facing. Until then, you've got enough time to do two things before then. Hmm...
