I know of it, and have seen art. And I say, I approve of all those fit, fighting ladies with abs you could grind meat on.

[X] You choose Yoko. She seems to be the most easy going of the three. Would be the easiest to talk to. (Gain Yoko SL; Starts at Rank 1 with 3/3 RP; MMA Fighter)

QM I demand pics of these lovely lasses!

[X] You choose Haruka. She's the prickliest of the three. But that kind of makes you want to get to know her better. See where all that comes from. (Gain Haruka SL; Starts at Rank 1 with 1/3 RP; Karate Fighter)

[X] You choose Yoko. She seems to be the most easy going of the three. Would be the easiest to talk to. (Gain Yoko SL; Starts at Rank 1 with 3/3 RP; MMA Fighter)

I liked it for a bit, but dropped it when it was less about romance-martial-arts and more about...I don't think it even had an over-arching theme by the time they introduced the super-femboy.

Another case of "good premise, bad execution".

I fell on some of the webtoons cliches of the time with the conflict dragging on more than needed yes.

[J] You refuse to choose, friendship doesn't work like that! Work on coming up with a plan so everyone can hang out together, maybe Rits and Liz can help?

:V

You look between the three girls for a moment. Hmm, Yoko would probably be the easiest to get along with. She's the closest to you and Hose in terms of personality, from what you've seen anyway. Not to mention how easy going she is. Would probably float with the general vibe of both you and most people you hang with. Hose would probably love her...or the two of them would try to beat each other up the moment they met.

Then there's Haruka, who you're positive doesn't like you. Whether that's because she's paranoid and actually buys into what their Headmistress has told them, or because of her own personal reasons, you don't know. However, you feel like if you tried to break through that and get to the girl beneath...well, you might find that she still doesn't like you. But it might change from "not liking you because of something her master said" and turn into "not liking you cause of something more understandable". Not exactly ideal but better than as it currently stands.

However, in the end, you choose...

"Iji," your words make the other girls turns towards the quieter one. Iji looks to you then points at herself. After you nod, she tilts her head in a clear sign of confusion. You just shrug, "Honestly? You seem the most interesting, and I want to learn more about you. No offense to you two."

Haruka opens her mouth to say something, but Yoko stops her with a hand over the other girl's chin. Yoko smiles, "None taken. Really I should've seen that coming. Everybody likes the quiet and mysterious types. You cool with this, Iji?"

Iji looks between you and her friends for a moment. Her tired expression doesn't leave her for a second. In all honesty, she seems to be taking everything in relative stride. Even as Haruka moves from behind Yoko and heads towards her. The black haired girl places her hands on Iji's shoulders then looks her dead in the eye, "Iji. If you don't want to do this, just say no. You don't have to interact with him if you don't want to. Just shake your head and we'll all head back into the-"

Iji places both her hands on to Haruka's wrists. Then she gently lifts them off her shoulders. Haruka looks confused before Iji starts walking over to you and pulls out her phone. She holds the sleek, silver device up to you, "My. Number."

"Iji! Why?!" you drown her out as you take out your own phone and add Iji as a contact. Then you show her your number and she does the same with you. Haruka rushes over to stand a bit away from the two of you, "He's-He's-He's from Raijin! Why would you-"

"Like. Him. Reminds. Me. Of. Yoko," Iji points towards the girl in question. Then she turns back to you, "Text. Whenever. Except. Morning. Sleep."

"You sleep in when it's morning?" that surprises you. If only because you're always up bright and early.

Iji shrugs, "Don't. Like. Sun. Much."

Haruka looks between the two of you. Then she groans in frustration before turning to you. The glare she sends your way would probably bore a hole through your head if she could manage it, "You better treat her right, you hear? If I learn that you've hurt a hair on her head, there will be hell to pay!"

She points a finger in your direction. Then Iji pushes her hand down. The white haired girl actually sounds a bit miffed at Haruka as she speaks, "Not. Child. Can. Take. Care. Of. Self."

"I...I know. But I'm just-"

"Don't. Worry. I. Strong."

"...Just, be careful Iji."

"I. Will. Oh. Right. Almost. Forgot."

"Forgot wha-" then she's suddenly hugging you and your mind temporarily shuts down.

Uh...uh...uh...what are you supposed to do here? Do you hug her back? Or do you push her off or-

"Hmm. Acceptable," Iji pulls away, immediately making the tension in your body drop as she turns around and walks towards her locker room. She gives you a lazy wave, "See. You. Later. Nagai."

"Yep, bye!" Yoko waves goodbye, moving forward and grabbing Haruka by the shoulder. She drags the black haired girl into the room, Haruka still glaring daggers your way. Before long, all three girls are inside their locker room.

....

What the heck was that about?

[Gained Iji, The Jindai Kendo Practitioner SL Unlocked! Starts at Rank 1/10 with 2/3 RP]

"Woooo!" Hose shouts while he puts his arm around your shoulder. You stumble a bit as he starts to pound your chest with a smile on his face, "That's how you do it, Nagai! Three in a row! Didn't take a single hit! You're fucking awesome!"

You chuckle and rub the back of your neck, "Hehe, it's not that impressive. Besides, I wouldn't be where I am without you guys."

"Get a load of this guy," Hose says to the rest of the locker room of students, "even when he's the Guest of Honor he chooses to be humble. Did we luck out with getting this dude on our side or what?!"

"Yeah!" the entire Martial Arts Club shouts in unison. The energy is a bit infectious. If you were here with just Hose and these guys, you'd probably get pulled into the celebratory mood. Buuuutttt.....

Seteke clearing his throat is enough to get everyone's attention. He narrows his eyes at the room as he speaks, "I trust you all do not believe it is time to celebrate. The Tournament has only just begun."

His words dampen the mood a bit. Some people looking at the floor in shame. Seteke grunts as Sakura pokes him in the arm with one of her crutches. She glares at him, "Don't be a stick in the mud, Seteke. Let Nagai have his moment. Right, sensei?"

Everyone turns to look at Sensei Hazma. He's been sitting to the side, arms crossed and in an almost meditative state. His eyes are closed but he's breathing in a regular rhythm. He doesn't react to Sakura's words, but the girl doesn't seem bothered. She just smiles over at Seteke, "See?"

Your other senpai sighs with a shake of his head. The rest of the club lets out a chuckle at the man's frustration, Hose using the moment to retake the spotlight. He steps away and starts to hold out his arms as he speaks, "So, that's one school down. Just gotta the rest."

"How is the rest of the tournament gonna work anyway?" you say with a raised eyebrow. You jerk a thumb towards the door, "I already know that Jindai lost to the Tosa guys. So, who's after them?"

"Wait, how'd you find out that Jindai lost?" Hose points at you in confusion, "Don't think any of us told you? Did we?"

He looks to the rest of the club for confirmation. Everyone answers in the negative. You shrug when he turns back to you, "I found their locker room and asked them about it. Though, they kind of told me by accident."

The general air of the room kind of changes. You look around and see everyone looking at you weirdly. The expressions are myriad though. Some of them are looking at you with suspicious, others with shock, and yet others with knowing smiles and nods. You shrug, "What? Is something on my face?"

Hose pats your shoulder and gives you one of those knowing smiles, "Hayato. My brother. My man. I know that the idea of an All Girls School is tempting. But please tell me you didn't go over there to-"

"I went over there to talk with them about their fights," you preempt, already seeing where he was going with this, "That and just to talk. You know, normal stuff. See what makes them tick and all that."

Hose blinks, "Oh. Never mind then."

[Trickery: 3]

"Oh. One of them did give me her number so we could hang out after school though."

A mixture of gasps and cheers erupt through the room. Hose's mouth curls into a smile then he starts to clap you on your back, "Nice, man. Nice. But, some advice? Save that stuff for after the tournament's over. After that you can get all friendly with those girls if you want. Just...be careful. Rival School romance sounds great on paper but-"

You give him a light punch in the stomach, "Knock it off."

"Alright, alright," Hose steps back while waving a hand through the air. Then he takes up a place at your side, voice turning serious for a moment, "But, really dude. You can do what you want. But, if anything seems off, bail. They're the fuckers who stopped the rest of us from competing. Don't know what else they're capable of."

"To be fair, that wasn't their Club's decision. It was their Vice Principal."

"Still."

"We're getting off topic," Seteke steps into the conversation. He turns to you with a serious expression on his face, "Now that Jindai and Susanoo have been eliminated, there are only four schools remaining. Tosa, the ones who defeated Jindai, Amaterasu, Satsuma, and ourselves. Amaterasu and Satsuma are currently having their match. And, considering what we learned of the Jindai match, one of those two likely has the other Sole Participant."

"Wait...won't that leave three schools afterwards?" you do the math in your head, "That doesn't add up. How are they gonna do the final match?"

"Simple. They'll decide the Semi-Final match randomly, then have the Finals between whoever is left," Sakura shrugs, "Not that hard to figure out."

"Bet you're hoping that Sole Participant wins this fight, right? Want to get your one-on-one match in?" Hose elbows you in the side knowingly.

"...A little," you would be lying if you said no. The rest of the room laughs at your words.

"Hayato, A word."

Everyone suddenly freezes up at Sensei Hazma's voice. The tension in the room turns cold as the man stands up and makes his way towards the door to the locker room. He stops at the entrance and waits for you to follow. You look at your friends for some support. Seteke just gives you a comforting nod. Hose shrugs in confusion. Sakura scratches her neck to show her own uncertainty. Bereft of anything else, you follow after your Sensei. He opens the door for you and then you both walk out.

"Walk with me," he says and you're inclined to do as he says.

The two of you start to walk through the empty hallways of the stadium. The only sounds you can hear are those of your footsteps, and the exclamations of the crowd through the walls. Judging from what you're hearing, the match is going well. For who, you don't know.

Sensei remains silent for a while.

A long while.

Long enough that it starts getting awkward. You start to search for something to break the ice.

[CSC: Empathy + Speech: 35 (Feelings) + 30 (Persuasion) = 65 VS DC 50; Success! +2 RP! +3 XP!]

"Sooooooo," you start, trying to word this correctly, "Sensei. I can tell you wanted to say something to me. If so, then I'm all ears. Just...uh...you know...start whenever."

You chuckle feeling more intimidated by this man than any other you've met. You're not even sure why. The guy hasn't even said anything.

[Speech: Intimidation: 30: Success!]

It takes you a moment to realize that he's likely not doing that on purpose. It's just an instinctual feeling he's giving off. The principal is similar to what you talked with Yameko about. The idea of making people think you mean them harm, even when you don't. Being able to project the image that you're someone to be wary of without even opening your mouth.

[Perception: People: 3; Failure]

You're stuck wondering how he managed to do it though. You can understand the concept. But actually putting it into practice is beyond you. You wouldn't even know where to start. How the heck do you make yourself look intimidating without looking like you're trying too hard?

"Hayato," you're brought out of your musings by your sensei's words. He's stopped walking and has turned to face you fully. You do the same, if only because there's not much else to do. He stares down at you, his sharp bushy eyebrows somehow making him even more intimidating.

"Yes, sensei?" you say on instinct.

"Tell me, what do you value more? Strength of body, strength of mind, or strength of heart?"

"Wh-what?"

"It is a question I have asked all my students at least once. Particularly those I believe have the potential to be greater than they are," he says without flinching, "Now, choose."

[] Strength Of Body. If your body's out of order, you can't move right.

[] Strength Of Mind. If your mind's out of order, you can't think straight.

[] Strength Of Heart. If your heart's out of order, nothing is alright.

[] All three. You think having a balance would be best.

[] Write in...

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Also, I'm gonna try to get another Update in after this vote is over, since this one is pretty short.
