A Bright Dawn to Come (SRW/ME)

Presumably, that formula just works in general for trying to chemically force a close mental bond between people and psychoactive machinery.

I was thinking of something with a bit more dichotomy like kpop or something.

Nay, it would be Krogan love poetry.

"Oh Blue Rose of Illium, let your roots dig deep into the hot soil of Tuchanka. Let our scorching sun and sheeting rain turn your supple beauty into strength. For if our love is to survive, it must grow thorns to pierce the hand of any that would uproot it!"

"Blue Rose of Illium, you have blossomed in a tower of glass and plastic. But beauty under glass is untested and weak. Where are your honored dead, to fertilize the ground that you might grow strong? On the rocky plains of Tuchanka, I will build you a garden from the bones of my ancestors."

"Blue Rose of Illium, leave eternity unembraced and grapple in the glorious struggle that is us, here and now! I am speechless, not with blood rage, but with love, and I stand here, humble and mute, to offer you a home. Come to me, Blue Rose of Illium. Let our three hearts beat as two."

Unfortunately, I had hoped to have the next bit ready by the end of today - N7 day, but I only got a few hundred words done.

A yes not being able to writte something. I understand the feeling.

My muse been mugging me about an Omake in which Kouji, Boss and Hayato have a talk as old Friends.

But just cannot get it on a written format so far.

Haha yeah imagine having a quest update to write and you, for example, remember you haven't played the new EU4 patch yet and still have like three days on your DLC subscription.

Nay, it would be Krogan love poetry.
I mean, I always thought that stuff was pretty good. Might not really land with an asari audience, but you can tell that it's sincerely meant and that the guy's got a lot of passion and poetry in his heart.

"Wait, isn't that hearts?"

"Nah, I use one heart for poetry and the other heart for asskicking."

"See, this is why we want to give you a Symphogear."

Personally the two saddest moments of Mass Effect 3: 1) The elcor Ambassador's pained "Not Enough" when you complete the side mission to recover elcor from their Homeworld, and 2) Delivering Char's last message to His Blue Rose of Illium, especially if you did do the side mission to get them together.

Given krogan lifespans, Charr the krogan love poet is probably around and active here in the 2150s.

Now I hope he shows up and asks for a red mecha just to mess with everyone.

Especially Edward.

Charr the Krogan Love Poet: "Hic... shee, way I shee it, let th' unpopular human warlord change his name. I wash born first!"

[thumps table hard enough to crack it, takes another slug of ryncol, passes out]

Edward: "..."

Jane patting Charr on the back: "Yeah, that guy can go fuck himself. Hey hey hey, budy, he should totally change his name to Red Vomit!"

[Jane proceeds to finish her drink and pass out as well, leaving Edward with the bill]

I just realized that there is probably a roller-coaster in universe that has the nickname "The Red Vomit."

CANON: A decade old reminiscense.
Well that omake I talked about here it is.

A decade old reminiscense.

Kouji Kabuto really needed a break.

As he walked trough the city in the afternoon he couldn't help but think.

Ever since the miners discovered the Infinity on mount Fuji he was sure the photon institute was becoming more of a mad house than a research facility by the day.

He will admit as a researcher that trying to make head and toes to what the Infinity was and its purpose excited him to no end.

Just the amount of breaktroughs they could get in photon power research from even understanding a little of the Infinity put the gears on his mind to work to no end.

There was also Lisa, luckily only the Photon institute and only a select few knew her true nature, last thing they needed was also having the goverment on their necks considering that she technically broke the ban on super AI's even if she is an ancient one.

That was a can of worm that Sayaka and he really didn't want to open at the moment, so they decided to keep quiet for the moment.

And yet, even with all the advancement that the Infinity could bring to hunanity, that sensation of dread when studying the machine never faded away.

That the thing was apparently made by the Miceanean already raised a lot of red flags for him.

Then a woman that was able to control the noise of all things attacked the institute, he knew better than to call it a coincidence, the noise had been a problem for years, but for someone to control them and to come directly to the institute, it was obvious that they were looking for something and that something was obviously the Infinity.

He was still baffled when Lisa spoke apparently a dead tongue and the things that have been a danger to humanity during these last years, somehow started ignoring the woman controlling them and ran away as if they had seen the devil itself.

And the woman didn't had much luck either when she decided to take matters into her own hands.

Especially since Lisa also knew how to fight on a level that reminded him too much of the Gamia Q model of androids and proceeded to kick the woman ass making her retreat.

And yet that wasn't the worst.

No the worst was the notice about what appeared to be remains of Doctor Hell old Kikaiju army reappearing once again.

Tetsuya may had never fought the original models, but Kouji was grateful that his adopted brother saw some prudency in informing him and sending him photos and videos about the sudden reappareance of the kikaiju after one of his missions.

He really wanted to think that his were just some remnants of the old army that some idiot terrorist managed to get his hands on.

He prayed to any god out there that the madman known as Doctor Hell was truly dead and that he didn't went into hiding after their last battle where Tetsuya and he battled the Great Marshal of Hell during the miceanean war.

And yet those Kikaiju irked him in a bad way.

From a simple gaze at the photos and videos Tetsuya sent him, he could tell that they didn't just had a new coat of painting.

No they were too new, upgraded too from the ones he used to fight during his first scuffle with Doctor Hell.

The dread that Doctor Hell may had survived that final battle just grew more and more after that.

Either that or maybe a whispered may had decided to follow on the madman footsteps.

To be honest he couldn't really tell which one was worse

As the old pilot of the invencible iron castle continued walking lost in his thoughs, he finally got to his destination.

''Well, at least I can count that one of his bowls will calm me somewhat from all of this'' Kouji said in a tired voice.

As he opened the door to the building that was his destination one could see nothing more than a modest ramen shop.

And yet this was probably his favorite ramen shop, not only it held many old memories from his war days with his friends, but also said shop was run by 3 of his oldest friends.

It was a surprise when Boss, Nuke and Mucha told everyone that they bought the shop from the old master who was thinking on retiring and continued running it after the decade of doom was over.

As he entered the shop he saw that today the place was empty apart from a man in a trench coat sat eating a bowl of ramen one he knew very well on front of the counter, as he approached he could also see Nuke and Mucha doing some cleaning on the place as they waved at him to which he waved back.

As he finally got in front of the counter his old friend Boss noticed him ''Hey Kabuto, same as always I suppose?'' Boss asked in a jovial tone with a big grin.

''Hey Boss and yes, just give me the usual'' Kouji said as he took a seat besides the man in the trench coat.

''A borot special coming right up then'' Boss said as he started gathering the ingredients to make his ramen.

Meanwhile he glanced back to the man in a trench coat and started talking to him ''Kinda surprised to see you here Hayato'' Kouji said.

At that Hayato glared at him and gave him a playful smile ''What I cannot have a break too from time to time Kabuto?'' Hayato Jin said to his old friend.

Kouji just shot back ''Well I always supposed you didn't take breaks, considering you have been holed in your laboratory on that project of yours for days at a time''

Hayato defended himself saying ''Hah, looks who's talking, I clearly remember Sayaka complaining on how you didn't sleep for at least a day trying to understand that Mazinger your team discovered on mount Fuji''

''Hahaha touche Hayato'' Kouji said accepting the defeat but laughing.

As he finished laughing Boss finally got back to the counter with his order ''Well here you go Kabuto, a borot special, enjoy it'' Boss said as he passed him the bowl of ramen.

''Thanks Boss I appreciate it'' Kouji said as he smelled the delicious ramen and started to eat.

Hayato also continued eating his bowl, but then he glanced back to Kouji and asked ''So what brings you here Kabuto? I would had though you would still be doing research on that giant Mazinger''

Kouji just sighed at the question responding ''Just needed to clear my mind, even a guy like me can take so much before it becomes unbearable''

''What don't tell me the noise from the other day and that woman spooked you that hard?'' Hayato said.

Kouji expression changed to a serious one as he looked at Hayato and said ''It is not just that, apart from the Infinity and that woman, there has been recent developments that have me worried, it is better that I show you''

Kouji then got his phone out and showed Hayato one of the videos Tetsuya had sent him.

At that the old scientist face went into a neutral serious expression and told his old friend ''Kikaiju?, they look too new and upgraded too to be just some remains of that bastard army, please don't tell me that bastard really survived?''

''That is what I am hoping for, but the possibility of Doctor Hell having survived our last battle has been on my mind ever since Tetsuya sent those videos'' Kouji said in a worried tone.

Hayato just sighed at that '' I suppose the feeling that something big will happen soon hasn't been unfounded too''

Kouji looked surprised at his friend and said ''You too? At least I am glad to know I wasn't going crazy''

Hayato reassured his old friend ''Trust me I wish it was some crazy though, but after discovering that giant Mazinger my old instincs have been driving me nuts telling me that something is going to happen, the Kikaiju reemerging just confirms it even more''

Kouji just sighed at that and said in a melancolic tone '' 8 years of peace and somehow it seems that all will crumble soon if that is the case and it is not like we can get the old team back together''

Hayato shared that same tone and said ''8 years and you still haven't been able to let go?''

Kouji just shot back with a question ''Have you?''

Hayato just looked down at his almost finished bowl and said ''I would be lying if I said yes''

Kouji then started remembering on just how many friends they lost over the years ''First Guy got branded a traitor alongside the rest of the old GGG and we all know that was bullshit and that if it wasn't for them we wouldn't even be alive''

Hayato continues ''Then Doctor Kisaragi got assesinated by Panther Claw and I doubt Honey will drop whatever she is doing to lend us a hand should things get out of hand''

Kouji then said ''Then Musashi sacrificed himself to finally put a stop to the dinosaur Empire''

Hayato made a remorseful expression at that ''Please don't remind me, I still cannot believe that he knocked me out and went out there alone, dammit Musashi we were supposed to be a team''

Kouji then asked ''Have you heard anything about Ryoma actually?''

Hayato just moved his head and said '' No, after he took that Getter prototype from the moon wars he just dropped off the grid, not even my old contacs have been able to find a trace leading to him yet''

Kouji just sighed ''Yeah sounds like him and I cannot blame him, After Guy and Musashi, Kamille got put in a vegetal state that is a miracle he even managed to recover and I doubt he ever wants to see a Gundam in his life ever again, Judau just dropped off the grid after the Neo-Zeon war, Kallen is busy with the rest of the black knights on some mission, Hyoma and the rest want to put war behind them, then that bastard of Char had to go and change tunes with the axis drop''

Hayato just scorned at the mention of Char's name ''Bastard, we fought together during the Gryph Wars and we though he maybe had changed for the better, but no, he had to condemn us all and try to drop that damn rock on us''

''Which led to both him and Amuro being declared MIA'' Kouji said in a sad tone.

''And then professor Saotome rebellion happened'' Hayato said in a hurt tone.

''Yeah, which led to pretty much almost everyone on the institute being killed, including the professor itself'' Kouji said remembering the events that led to the Saotome research institute being abandoned.

Hayato just sighed and said ''Nothing we can do now, just continue onwards in stead of those that are no longer with us''

Kouji then finished his bowl of ramen and looked down ''Yeah, I just hope initiative Z doesn't has to be put in action''

Hayato raised an eyebrow at that ''And what is that exactly?'' He said asking Kouji.

Kouji responded ''Something put in place by the japanese goverment and the Photon labs, should the need to deploy Mazinger Z again ever arises, Tetsuya and I will be under direct control from the Photon labs instead of the military and we will be allowed to use Z and Great at full power to combat the threat at hand, we will still have to respond to the goverment, but the military has no say in what we do and the final word will always be from Prime Minister Yumi''

Hayato smiled at that ''So pretty much back to the old routine and to avoid a situation where any idiot like the Titans get funny ideas''

''Yeah, but I wonder if I really want to pilot Z again?, we had our run for a decade after all and sure I have kept him in shape and updated while using him as the test bed for some breaks on Photon energy research, but I am not a warrior like Tetsuya or Ryoma, he is the last gift I have from my grandfather after all and after 8 years of peace, do I really want to go back to that life?'' Kouji said in a doubtful tone

Before Hayato could say something Boss interrupted and said ''Hey want my two cents on this?''

At that Kouji and Hayato saw the owner of the ramen shop and nodded.

Boss then took a deep breath and said ''Does it really matter? At the end the planet will probably be in danger once again if your hunches are right and I doubt you two will stay put while some idiot tries to take over ir destroy the planet, so instead of half ass it, go all in and show why you all managed to protect this world for so long, hell I don't doubt the rest will feel the same way should someone start causing trouble and will help should the need arise, damn I will even deploy Boss Borot again if you need help, we all fought so hard for this peace, so what if Doctor Hell is somehow back? you kicked his ass and I don't doubt you can sent him packing back down there again, people don't remember Mazinger z as a weapon, but a protector, that I can assure you Kabuto.''

At that both pilots and researchers were just shocked, especially since it was coming out from Boss from all people ''Wow, Boss that was kinda deep'' Kouji admited.

''You would be surprised on what some of my clients say about you Kabuto, so in my opinion don't worry about and if you really need to deploy Mazinger z again, don't hesitate and do it, things may have changed during these years, but I know that you won't stand the destruction that madman may cause if he is really alive'' Bosss reassured his old rival.

''Man things have really changed if this is coming from a simpleton like you'' Hayato threw a jab at the pilot of the boss borot.

Boss just gave a smug smile to Hayato and responded ''Yeah they have and hey do I have to remind you that this ''simpleton'' saved yours and Tetsuya ass from that metal eating monster that UFO sent to attack us, if it wasn't for me both Great Mazinger and Getter Robo would had been that thing desserts''

Hayato just groaned while Koji laughed as Hayato said as he got his wallet out to pay for his bowl ''One time, give this guy the spotlight just one time and he nevers lets you live it down and hey you just acted as the bait for Gilgilgan''

''That's Boss for you Hayato hahaha'' Kouji said laughing remembering that one event where Tetsuya and the getter team had to fight the space monster called Gilgilgan as he also got his wallet out to pay.

''Fine fine, put me down a peg will you, just calm down, here let me give you one more bowl on the house, cause you two really need to chill out'' Boss said as he started preparing two more bowls of ramen before the two pilots could get up from their seats.

Hayato just sighed in annoyance, while Kouji was just happy of getting a freebie.

But then again he should probably thanks Boss later for giving him something to think about and in his opinion he was right.

If Doctor Hell was truly still out there it didn't really matter, should the old coot show his ugly mug ever again then he better be prepared.

They fought hard and lost so many allies during the decade of doom just so that humanity could have a future, if that bastard thinks of screwing things up, then he will make sure Mazinger z gives him a good rocket punch to the face and sends him back to hell.

Things for sure have changed, he may not be the hotheaded teenager he was during those years, but he is still Kouji Kabuto, his grandfather last will was for Doctor Hell to never conquer the world and he will make sure this time it sticks and this has to be Mazinger z last launch.

Kouji then though back to their old allies, especially those that lost their lives ''(look after us everyone, you may not longer be here, but we will make sure to continue protecting this planet we fought so hard for)'' .

After a while Boss finally gave them both their free ramen and they started eating, he really needed this break and it was one that he appreciated for it gave him a peace of mind he didn't knew he needed.

Well here it is my first omake for the quest, man this thing took me a while to get rolling, dunno things just didn't want to get written, there is also that I dunno really how much I botched Kouji, Hayato and Boss personalities, mostly basing myself on how they interact on T and 30, but I still feel there is some weird parts here and there, either this had been on my mind for a while and decided to fully commiting to it as a way to thanksLunaryon for gifting me the account upgrade which was kinda unexpected, but yeah from the info Lunaryon has provided on his posts we know already the the infinity is already unearthed and Kouji may be somewhat hardheaded but he is no idiot he knows that the woman with the noise was gunning for the infinity and that by this point Doctor Hell starts sending Kikaiju once more to also gets his hands on one of the Mazingers to control the infinity, as for why Hayato is here, also mostly basing it from T and 30 in which the Getter team, the photon lab team and the white base were pretty close to each other as friends and on 30 you can see how the getter team and kouji got affected by the supposed death of Amuro, they also probably regret that they fell out of contact with many of the other allies they made during the decade of doom due to the cirscunstances as Kouji, Hayato and probably Benkei are the only ones that realistically can see each other day by day.

Either way hope I got my stuff right and that you guys enjoy

It's Sortie Time - Part Final
Actually, there is something odd and familiar about the way that the massive Gundam moves, but there is so much going on at the moment that Catherine can't put a finger on it.

Not now. Not when she has other things that she needs to be focusing on.

"Mitch! Daniel! With me!" Catherine calls out, "We're going to be following Lillian. Get in close and fan out around the enemy ship. Limit its maneuverability so that Lie, Linda, and Wendy can batter it from range!"

Linda Vashti sits in her own cockpit, dragging her eyes up from looking over the controls to glance over towards Catherine barking out orders at the others. Just who does that girl think that she is? She hasn't been assigned as the leader of the Space Frames, so what gives her the right to just start ordering all the others around. Linda hits her communicator, ready and willing to make her opinions on Linda's decisions extremely clear.

Then the others start agreeing. Scowling and biting her lip, Linda lets loose a grumbling noise that might as well be considered an agreement. It isn't really, because she doesn't agree with Linda's decision.

As the oldest member of this new group, Linda would have made slightly different decisions, but that really isn't the point. Stepping up and saying something right here and now isn't the correct move. It isn't the time, nor the place.

When you are in the field, you listen to your squad leader. You listen to your superiors and you follow orders. The battlefield isn't the place for grievances or disagreements. Those can be hashed out in private, just between Linda and Catherine. That way no one else has the ability to listen in.

So fine, she'll stay back and listen and wait for the moment to try and strike. That's what she's been ordered to do, so that is what she is going to do.

The fact that that gives her more time to try and understand the strange phenomenon that Wendy managed to summon forth is only a bonus. Even the third years like Linda have heard of Wendy's legendarily bad piloting skills. If there is something that girl is capable of doing, then Linda has to be able to do it too.

She has to be able to do it better.

The Gundam and the three frames rockets forwards towards the ship in the distance, and Linda turns her attention back to what is really important. Sure, the battle should be what she is paying attention to, but this is just a single ship, and not a large one either. Gundams are Captain Ship Killers, so a little dinky thing like that shouldn't be anything more than an annoyance at best.

Maybe activating that strange field required careful handling of the throttles…

Linda's frame moves and adjusts itself towards a better position in a series of jittering snappy starts and stops, little unhappy bursts of energy as Linda tries handling the controls with as much force as she can, before trying with just a little. She crosses her arms and uses the controls with the wrong hands and even bats at them without holding onto them like she's punching with her fists instead of with the controls.

Nothing seems to work. Nothing seems to do what Wendy did. All of this is really starting to get under Linda's skin, and she leans forwards, not even putting her hands on the controls, just slapping against her arm rests and lets out a growling "What did she even-"

For a moment, little more than the time that it takes to blink, Linda swears that she sees a flicker of blue run across the screens of her suit, before the screens flash warnings up across them. "Wha-?"

WARNING: PRESSURE LEAK

Moving quickly, Linda's attention entirely leaves the battle, her eyes flicking across the screens as she tries to understand what is going on. Her hands leap from control to control as she brings up the systems and the self diagnostics.

Somehow, something sliced through the side of her Space frame. The cut is less than a foot wide, and on the side of the machine, but it still means that the limited atmosphere kept inside of the machine is leaking away. Can she… Linda's eyes dart back and forth across the controls before she remembers what she had to do in one of the simulations - Not here on the Harmonia but last year during her finals. Cracking the frame's cockpit, Linda allows the rest of the atmosphere to vent from the frame, that way she doesn't have to worry about the escaping pressurized air altering the course of her machine.

Also, it prevents the escaping air from potentially unplugging any cords or damaging any of the other systems. Really, the girl is lucky that this happened to her and not one of the others. She knows how to handle this, and she's got the experience to understand just how important it is for her to properly seal up her Pilot Suit every time that she gets in a machine.

That still doesn't answer the question of what hit her. A momentary thought crosses her mind, but she tosses it aside. There's now way that that was what happened.

Definitely not.

It couldn't have been the unknown system. What kind of system could potentially hurt the user?

No. No.

No one would create something like that. Linda very pointedly ignores everything that she knows about Psycho-frames, and that one of the Getter Team pilots exploded, or that Koji Kabuto broke an arm the first time that he piloted Mazinger Z.

None of those things are anything like the situation that the girl finds herself in. At the very least, that is what she tells herself, instead drawing her attention back to the continuing battle, watching as Lillian jerks back and somehow manages to bat away one of the weapons that the unknown attackers fired at the Gundam.

Maybe it was one of those bullets that damaged her frame. It certainly wasn't the strange unknown technology that she might have possibly nearly activated.

…Now if only she could convince herself of that. Instead, she takes a breath and quietly swears to herself to spend more time in the simulators to make sure something like this never happens again. Next time she might not be that lucky…

"Everyone!" She calls into the void, and somehow, she can feel them hearing her. "Watch out for the ship's guns. They're firing solid munitions, far faster than anything we've seen before. It nearly knocked the Barbatos for a loop. You've already got orders from Catherine, so I'll just say this. Don't die!"

By all rights, Lillian knows that none of the other pilots should have been able to hear her. There is no way that her voice could have crossed the empty void of space. Even so, she felt the moment of confusion from each of the others when they heard her.

Could it be that this is another one of the unknown locked systems that she's not managed to gain access to?

Lillian knows that there are several systems that the Barbatoss has that she has just never managed to gain access to before.

None of the tests that the Eggheads put her through was enough to rouse these systems.

None of the hours upon hours upon hours of running drills late into the night and early into the morning were even enough to wake those systems.

Even the special medicines and all the weird things that the doctors did to her wasn't enough to tap into the true potential of the Barbatos.

So while she knows what she just did, she doesn't have the slightest idea how she did it, or why it worked. It's entirely possible that this ability to communicate past the Minovsky Particles is just something that the Barbatos G is capable of doing.

Despite the fact that the frames have been on the Harmonia for so long, Lillian has never worked or tested alongside them. There were supposed to be other pilots arriving to work with her, but the doctors refused to tell her when they were going to arrive. Just that once they were finished they'd come to join her.

But the fact that she doesn't understand how she did that doesn't bother Lillian. Truthfully, the girl's life has more unanswered questions than anything else, and for as long as she can remember it has always been that way. It doesn't bother her, she just doesn't know any other way to be.

Which means that she just instead focuses on the here and the now, pushing forwards as she tries to get an idea of what other weapons this strange ship might have.

Lillian watches with a sort of detached amusement at the way that the ship starts to pull back and away from her, banking harder as Lillian comes in closer. Drawing her mace back, Lillian notes that the other frames are moving around, trying to flank to either side of the ship.

There's a tiny fritz of noise on the communicator, someone is trying to say something, but Lillian doesn't have the slightest idea what it might be. Lurching forwards she flips, trailing her mace behind as it picks up more rotational speed.

The impact is heavy and hard, a cruel crunching sound that echoes through the metal mace and up the Barbatos's arms. The blow manages to land hard, ripping through the side of the ship's wing. Then, a beam of condensed Mega particles lances up from somewhere… Below? The beam slices through the far wing, wavering back and forth as it trails back towards the tail end of the ship where it manages to slice through part of the furthest ends of the ship.

Lillian twists around, wrenching her weapon free of the unknown ship as the girl's eyes trail across the bottom of her viewport, searching for where - Ah!

It seems that while the others were chasing towards the ship, Wendy had drifted further down, trying to find a clear firing line. It's obvious now that she's found it. As close as Lillian is to the ship, she can see the way that the ship's light sputters and flickers for a moment before going dim.

This… This should be the end of the battle, but there is something else. Something pressing at the edge of Lillian's mind. Strange sensations that she's never felt before. There is something like the fear that some of the civilians have been feeling, but it doesn't have the bitter tinge to it that that feeling has.

There is something like anger, but different.

And there is something very strange. An emotion that Lillian has never felt before, it is… Unlike anything that she has ever felt before. Like a choice is sitting before her, and the only options are cold and cruel, but-

Entirely on instinct, both of Lillian's hands snap down to the controls of the Barbatos, rocketing back away from the ship. Thankfully, it is clear that all the others see what she is doing. Lillian herself isn't sure why she's doing this.

Not when all the lights flare back on the ship, running from the tip to the back, and then the ship explodes consuming itself in a ball of brilliant blues and whites that burn to look at.

Did… Lillian shivers, the pain of that last moment rolling out over her. What was that?

Why was that?

They blew up their own ship rather than let the Gundam get any closer than it already did. But a quick scan doesn't pick up even a single life boat. Every single one of their followers went down with the ship.

Lilian continues to float there for a moment, thinking about the fact that the Captain mentioned that the man who was supposed to be her original Captain might have ordered something like that.

Then she thinks about the fact that the Captain asked her things that the squints never asked her.

And Lillian is very thankful that her Captain is her Captain, and that she doesn't have the other Captain instead.

With that thought echoing quietly in her head, she almost robotically returns the Barbatos to the Harmonia. And she sits there in the cockpit for a long time after the ship starts moving again. The people chasing them were willing to die for their cause, and for all the time that she can remember, Lillian had been told over and over and over again that that was one of the most important things that she would be able to do for the Captain.

That her death may one day save the Captain.

But this is the first time that she has really experienced death like that… And she doesn't know what to think. She's scared.

She's alone.

And the child made for the Barbatos wishes she knew who her mother was, for the very first time.

... what did they just totally scuttled their own ship with all hands on board after barely putting up a fight? Or was it more of a massive accident that ran out of control?

....it looks like Wendy managed to hit the Eezo Core....

The fact the power went out right before the explosion means the drive core was ruptured causing a catastrophic power failure and then explosion mere moments after.

It sounds like Wendy hit something important, and then either it caused a detonation, or the Turians scuttled their ship rather than be trapped as sitting ducks with no engines.

A device composed mainly of a material that increases and decreases mass when you run an electrical current through it, being pierced by a beam of concentrated particles that fry electrical systems. Yeah, I could see how that could go bad.

eh they were basically scout ship trailing us in wartime getting killed due to strenght difference. Its something that happens all the time in war
Eh, the Turians might still demand war reparations for whatever reason.
"How DARE you fight back against us rightfully forcing you to cease and desist in the name of a law that you never heard about and would have no way of knowing was a thing."
