2 Spooky (A Ghost Pokemon Trainer Quest)

[X] Switch to Stuffy and use Wood hammer on this guy.

Alia recalled Spooky and changed to Stuffy who took a Karate chop to the face before charging with energy and ripping the floorboards up to raise a giant board and slam it on the Machop's face. The Machop staggered and Stuffy continued to wail on him two more times before he dropped to the ground, unconscious. Stuffy hopped over to her, injured from recoil, but clearly happy with her victory.

"Great job." Alia highfived her tail. The trainer looked up from his machop that he was healing with a potion as well.

"Indeed, but you'll never beat Brawly!" He boasted. Alia shrugged before using a potion on Stuffy who wiggled at the tingling sensation of the potion.

She headed deeper inside with Spooky until bright lights turned on revealing .... Brawly on the phone?

"Hey, I told you for the last time, I'm working the gym! Stop harrassing me, I won't sign your stupid contracts!" He turned it off with a huff and looked at you embarrassed.

"Ehehehe, could you forget that happened? Totes unprofessional, sorry." He said sheepishly.

"It's alright!" Alia said, reassuringly before entering her pokegear data into the panel in front of her.

"A zero gym badge challenge eh? Alright, time to see what the next big wave has in store for me!" He yelled.

What do you do?

An... oddly specific plan, let's go with that.

Use Lick at odd angles! Genius! :V

[X] Send out Spooky first. Have them use Mean Look to prevent them from switching out before using Spite and Lick to win. Switch to Stuffy and use Double Team to dodge hits while using Wood Hammer to retaliate.

"Go Spooky!" Alia shouted. "Use Mean Look!"

"Go Machop!"

Spooky gave his meanest look at the machop that came out that shuddered but then grinned as he used foresight.

"Hah! He's not trapped with you ... You're trapped with him!!" Brawly declared. The Machop suddenly burst into a running start that had Spooky floating higher up in the air in sudden worry, but the Machop jumped high up in the air meeting Spooky's eyes! His Karate Chop slammed into the Ghastly sending it to the ground with momentum that Spooky barely halted. The Machop met each tongue of Spooky with a hard knife hand, but suddenly his movements stuttered and haltered as his lick paralyzed and his Spite canceled moves in the making.

"Machop, Bulk up, then Seismic Toss!" Brawly shouted suddenly, feeling the end was close. The Machop posed for a second as Spooky continued to lash him with his tongue and grabbed the irate ghost into his arms. He did a triple flip in the air before spasming and crashed into the ground with Spooky.

The dust slowly cleared to reveal both of the pokemon knocked out.

They both recalled them at the same time, not wasting a moment.

"Not bad! Try my Makuhita on for size!" Brawly said with a large grin. Makuhita came out and did a pose while turning on his foresight.

"Go kick his ass Stuffy!" Alia screamed, feeling the heat. Stuffy popped out and picked up one of the loose two by fours to slam it into Makuhita's face.

However he caught the second blow and raised Stuffy up into the air to do a reverse woodhammer! Stuffy let go of it and landed on Makuhita's face. She exploded off with an Astonish and landed on the ground before performing a double team, evading his Knock Off blow. Alia was surprised by Mimikyu's inventiveness and felt that the extra training was paying off now!

"Evade and scratch him Stuffy!" Alia shouted. Stuffy duplicated about three of herselves and confused the Makuhita into Arm Thrusting into a false Mimikyu, letting her get in close with a two by four and slamming it into his face. She let it go before he grabbed it and scratched deeply into his face before astonishing off the Makuhita's body.

The Makuhita was dazed, staggering around. Stuffy was injured though, from pulling off dangerous stunts and woodhammer, as she heaved deep breaths. They stared at each other, livid.

They dashed at each other, warriors meeting in combat, before they both exchanged a series of arm thrusts at each other.

They landed on the opposite sides, Makuhita leaning on a knee and Stuffy on her tail.

"She used copycat ..." Brawly murmured.

Then the Makuhita toppled.

"Oh my god." Alia said, letting out the breath she'd been holding. She ran to Stuffy with a potion in hand and a hug in the other.

"We did it! We actually did it!" She shouted, jumping up and down with Stuffy.

"Great job! I think you could have benefited from more training, but I see a real bond with your pokemon. You really swamped me." He said, as he opened a box of knuckle badges and pulled out a USB. "Here's the TM Bulk Up. I don't think you'll need as much so for your style of pokemon so feel free to trade it away or sell it."

"Thank you so much!" Alia said, taking the proffered items. "But Spooky ..."

He laughed. "Just go, I know how much starters mean to people."

She ran towards the Pokecenter to heal Spooky, but wanted to call someone to celebrate.

Who do you call?

i have to ask, does battling give exp and how much compared to regular training? if so, how is the exp distributed (as in the knockout blow, most damage or participators)?

and i have to comment that i like the fact that a pokemon can have more than 4 moves, for game mechanics it makes sense but real life-esque...not so much.

also, is it possible to capture other ghost types than duskull, frillish, frostlass, misdreavus, shedinja and shuppet or do we have to trade?

if so can we get an easy deal on environmental traversing pokemon?

Battling gives 3/4 of the pokemon's level you defeated. It's distributed by whoever participated by the battle. It'll be like you defeated a level eight pokemon, so you got 6 exp and each pokemon that participated got 6 exp. Knockouts do not cancel exp.

You must trade for any pokemon type you cannot capture in the region. So that'll be a lot of trading or talking to a ghost type breeder. You can capture pokemon outside your type, like Aron, to trade.

what about gengar can we get him without trading?

ah ok, i'm assuming you are using the omega ruby/saphire locations?
and i'd also like to ask whether or not you can catch sea pokemon by fishing that you usually have to surf for, that's a part that once again made some sense only to game mechanics (namely to stop the difference in levels) but not in real life.
...and maybe i missed it, but did we get an old-rod from that fisher dude?
...and lastly, how are you handling wild/lost/dropped items on routes? do you already have a system (are you not doing it at all?) or are you doing something simple like a roll on a d100 to see if she finds something and a if so a roll on a treasure list appropriate to the area?

[X] teach mimikyu bulk up...
- if tms are reusable.

I hope we get a cofagrigus by the end of the quest, he's probably my favorite Pokémon.
