Truly, this is the most important task.

-[X] Aegis Field 22 - 210XP

-[X] Gating 9 - 80XP
-[X] Gating 10 - 90XP
-[X] Stabilize - 350XP

Spending 1750, reserve 445, enough for another one of the Slayer abilities if something weird happens

Offering this as an alternative as a path towards Paragon instead, while picking up Stabilize as an army support deep strike option.

Summit's just going to keep getting punched in the face. It would be negligent to not address that.

You're probably right, but it's the Top Fifty she needs to be worried about now, and if we get Ray, that's mostly negated anyway. Panoply 35 (1400/700) with Multi-Shot (x3), Danmaku (x3.5 effective) and Ray (x5 to x26 in most battles) will result in damage potential of 73'500 to 382'200. Which means most exchanges will blow right through the enemy.

I mean, IIRC it's actually enough to overcome Sixth Heaven's Intercept and her Strength ability simply by having the requisite damage disparity.

So it's urgent enough, but not immediately required. Though I do support getting Paragon sooner or later.

IF she can hit, though. Those picks help with a raw strength comparison, sure, but face Yet Another Ninja/Teleporter and it doesn't help with that. Or just getting caught with her weapon in the wrong configuration because she's fighting multiple threats...like we just saw.

[X] Fix up any vehicles or fortifications that were damaged. Shouldn't take too long.

All hail action economy! This should be a good chance for us to narratively unlock instant manufacture.

5x all stats is 5x overall strength. The only additions past that are Echo of Peace and the Existence Bonus, which are hard to calculate the value of.
Nooooot quite.

Abstractly, if we compare one battleship with 150% values of speed and range, and pit them against two battleships with 100% values of speed and range, then all other things being equal the one battleship will be much more likely to win.

Similarly, assuming we're talking about "matching against their usual opponents", 5x boost in damage and resilience is already very impressive, and added 5x in health and effect of all spells, I'm looking at you Gabriel, swiftly propels everyone involved much higher than expected.

This is what makes it more than 5x overall strength. Core Connection didn't just make them better - it propelled them above and beyond 95% of any enemy they could have encountered by putting them beyond the reach of low-tiers.

Overall Strength =/= Combat Effectiveness

Two characters can be equal in Overall Strength but have a wide disparity in their Combat Effectiveness. This is easily apparent by comparing a Jack of All Trades and a Min-Maxer who have the same stat total, growth rate, and EXP spent on abilities.

They can be said to have the same Overall Strength, but there's going to be a big difference in their Combat Effectiveness.

Overall Strength = how strong you are
Combat Effectiveness = how useful you are

I think you two are arguing different points right now?

I know faraway is basically trying to say something like:

If you have 5x your previous health you are five times more effective because you can stay on the battlefield five times longer. Same goes for 5x damage, as you're outputting five times more damage in the same time frame. Or resilience, etc.

But because it's applying to everything it's adding up to a sum greater than the parts.

Or something like that I think.

Well if you're going to argue over terminology.

Okay, they have 5x Overall Strength, but 100x more Combat Effective... And since Summit is an escapee-from-hell since before teenager years she is talking "hundred times as strong" and meaning "a lot more combat effective". Because that is what matters to her, who had to endure do-or-die pseudo-"training" from literal hell.

Alright, here's my own plan for XP spending

[X] EXP-Plan Upgrade
-[X] Upgrade Shifting to Level 10 (240)
-[X] Upgrade Gating to Level 10 (300)
-[X] Purchase Mark (60)
-[X] Purchase Flare Arrow (60)
-[X] Upgrade Aggressive Absorption to Level 10 (90)
-[X] Upgrade Mark to Level 10 (450)
-[X] Upgrade Flare Arrow to Level 10 (450)
Total XP Spent: 1,650
XP Remaining: 545

This gives us a nice upgrade to our abilities, with adding another hit to Aggressive Absorption, purchasing and upgrading Mark and Flare Arrow to Level 10, and putting us closer to Standing Wave. Plus, this leaves us enough XP to purchase a Slayer Ability if we need it in the next few updates.

[X] Team GEAR must have a good reason for asking you for help. Go find them despite Arc Mastermind warning you off.

Pssst, why not improve quell or mana bolts instead?

Quell doesn't really seem all that useful to me, and Mana Bolts doesn't have a Base Damage, which also makes it less than useful in my eyes. I figure we can get two new spells that have the potential to be useful, upgrade them to a nice level, and we can talk about Quell and Mana Bolts in the future.

Pssst, why not improve quell or mana bolts instead?
Quell feels to me like something that lost a large part of its intended purpose when Kelll found out what Grand Dispel actually does.

Why bother canceling one spell when you can just make spells in general unusable for the whole turn? If you aren't part of a team.

Just need to train Intercept (False) onto Wave Force :V

Thanks for reminding me though that I should actually analyze how to spend EXP.
