"Incidentally, do you remember that scene where the girls fight the Nev- giant bird?" Mariko asks you as the lines begin to glow purple. "We're going to do something like that."

Hey, at least I understand this one now; I was watching all four seasons of RWBY just a week ago.

Additionally...

Before you falls the grief seed, more complex and bigger in size than you think those should be.

I get the feeling this was either a member of the Horror Gallery or an amalgam Witch.
Does anyone else have guesses on why this Grief Seed is different?

  • [X] Collect the Grief seed, it's bigger than normal so see how much all of your cleanses fills it up from where you are now. If you have a lot of room to spare in it maybe work on getting some healing done as well before you take it home.
-[X] Head home together unless any of the other girls have places to be, talk to auntcle once you get back, ask why this grief seed looks so weird?
--[X] Go home, hugs, probably sleep? It is rather late after all right?

*re-reads the update, more closely this time*

"Incidentally, do you remember that scene where the girls fight the Nev- giant bird?" Mariko asks you as the lines begin to glow purple. "We're going to do something like that."

Oh, they used the same slingshot tactic!

Why didn't I think of that?
Mariko moves in, slamming her mace into the bottoms of each cone one by one. Her movements are measured and sleek, yet each hit seems to carry excessive amounts of power. It seems as if the mace explodes on contact, sending the cones flying towards several of the floating platforms in the distance, chains trailing behind them from the book.

Each cone embeds itself into the surface of their respective object. The chains become tightened fast, and from the book emerges a human-sized hexagon with its corners serving as the anchoring points for the chains. Holding it next to you is a simple pillar attached to the bottom. You can recognize the simple trigger mechanism there.

You think you know where this is going now, though the amount of magic used by Mariko seems way too excessive.

"Sadly, I couldn't figure out a name for this one," Mariko admits ruefully and turns to look at you again. She sounds genuinely upset at not having that. "But do you think you're ready to fly? The take-off speed is pretty intensive."
Hm. Koko (sounds like Cocoa) doesn't describe the attack that much, and slingshot isn't a color...

"More complex and bigger in size"

I knew it.

I knew this was a gestalt.

...Wait we just killed a Walpurgisnacht gestalt. A weak one mind you, but still. We have come very far as Magical Girls.

I get the feeling this was either a member of the Horror Gallery or an amalgam Witch.

This is indeed an amalgamation witch. Yikes.
Yep, it was a gestalt. One with weak components, mind you, but one with good synergy between said components.

At least it is dead; under these circumstances, we probably still are in the plus regarding spent magic.

I think we should ask to have this Seed, especially because we can ask Uncle about it and get the information about what it was in-character as well.

Everyone cleanses from this seed. This is a team effort. We would've lost had we fought this thing alone.

I might have worded my question wrong. This was not about taking the whole thing for ourselves, but to ask for the Grief Seed once everyone used it for a cleanse.
Or... actually, I think Mariko has none at hand, so maybe she should have it. We could still show it to Uncle that way and Kishi should be good on Seeds.

Slightly modified Ube's

[x] Thank goodness it's over. Is everyone okay?
[x] Gem check everyone. Heal and cleanse everyone with the seed as necessary.
[x] Hug Kishi. She was worried about you...
[x] Ask Kishi if she's ever seen griefseeds like this.
[x] That was exhausting. If nothing comes up, stumble back to your apartment with Mariko and Kishi in tow.

While I have nothing against the hugs in particular, I think we should stop doing this all the time; there is no meaning behind such a gesture if it is always the first thing we do.

Additionally, maybe add a note to invite Kishi to dinner first before just pulling her along?
(Oh boy, there go my plans for which topics to talk about...)

Eh. There are times when hugs are appropriate and called for and times when they're excessive. After a fight like that, this falls into the first. Also bringing Kishi along and inviting her to dinner would tend to go hand in hand. Though honestly I'm not sure this would even be Tamiko's thought process right now.

Healing says hello. Mariko is a bit better off after the lucky healing session, but Tamiko is about to be hit by the aftermath of her injuries soonTM.

Witch Card: Liselotte
Liselotte
The witch of the forgotten with a self-destructive nature, Liselotte's very existence is a contradiction upon itself. Cast into the shadows of her selfless gift, she nonetheless resents the miracle she brought about. Yet, even her darkened heart is still illuminated by a sliver of light that stubbornly refuses to die, and she cannot bring herself to stop loving her mistake.

However, she is by nature unable to reconcile these feelings. Thus, Liselotte hides from her problems in her own little world, away from the eyes of others. Hers is a toxic existence, and forcing her to confront her problems - and bringing them to light - would be enough to destroy the witch.

===

Whoops, forgot about this :V.

But anyways, as I said before, Liselotte was a Walpurgisnacht style witch with two original components (and one birthday present). She was deathly allergic to light, so Ariane would have been very useful here, but had a considerable resistance to anything physical due to being more or less intangible.

Funnily enough, you could have won by literally stalling her, as Liselotte started to break apart the moment you destroyed the skeleton aspect of her on the upper floor. Someone with teleportation powers would have turned this into a copout!

A large baby mobile hangs above the crib, various crosses and skulls embedded upon the hangers. It moves gently to the tune of the music box next to the crib. Something's tuckered in.
I don't want even to think about meaning of that.

Huh.
She reminded me of Homulilly, but I didn't believe she would actually do us a favour and kill herself.

By the way, I am still abstaining; until I can make sense of the situation again, that is.

[x] "If you can get me there. A lot."
    [x] Charge shield. Max.
[x] Prepare max safe Sword Blast (36) and Jump Boosts for protection.
[x] With Mariko's help avoid the witch's attacks and try to get close.
[x] Kishi continues to fire away at the witch to disrupt and distract it.
[x] Unleash Sword Blast and ready a close ranged force bubble as a second attack against the witch as necessary.

I'm honestly not sure what to vote for... Uhm...
