This is going to be an on-going effort to encourage player participation for the quest (and also because I like when you guys jump in and help me better define my little universe)
As the thread progresses, I'll be throwing out Word of God info dumps on you guys on stuff like factions, Magic, history and so on.
However as the quest goes on, more high risk and high reward actions will be showing up more often with low success rates and be stuck there for a while without taking certain options before hand. However, even then, there'll be options with success rates that won't go up no matter what options you take. That's where omakes come in.
When someone writes out an Omake, I'll mark it into one of four categories: Non-Canon, Semi-Canon, Canon, and WoG Confirmed. Please note, I will not explain or point out which parts lead to a given Omake being put into it's category! That's be up to YOU guys to figure out.
Non-Canon: These Omakes, while nice and enjoyed by moi, are filled with a large number of things that go contrary to what I have going on and/or active in the quest. For Example - The Company is actually run by Incubators who are insane and thus wants to help people instead of filling their Quota. These Omakes get you a +5 to agiven roll, chosen by the writer of the Omake.
Semi-Canon: Parts of the Omake are canon-compliant ,but not all of it is. More or less like above, except it's familiars that are running the Company and they may or may not be insane. These get you a +10 to a given roll, again chosen by the Omake Writer.
Canon: Full-on Canon-compliant Omakes. These can be considered actual events/dossiers/what-have-you that exist in-universe for the quest. Particularly out-there Omakes that manage to get canon-status can also net you bonuses besides the +15 they net you by default.
WoG Confirmed: These are TRUTH. Things that can be considered as to have come from yours-truly. Absolute meta-facts on the universe in general and the base mechanics involved. If marked as such, you are fully allowed to even site them during arguments or to evencall me out on inconsistencies that will inevitably crop upfrom time to time. If someone says "nope, can't do that" and one of these says otherwise, you can point at it and tear his entire argument down. This prestigious position comes with a full +25 to a desired Roll plus I'll be speaking to the writer about further bonuses that they can choose from.
I'll keep a list on what hasn't and has been spent. And yes, I'm copying most of this message from someone else's quest.
