Finally, I caught up!

[X] FLIRT!!!

I'd make some sort of pun about "may I request an extension" and about the current month, but I couldn't think of a good one.

I already have an idea, so it wouldn't take too long.

Wait, if it's possible to move between dimensions, would it be possible to return to the dimension Autumn was born in?

IIRC we're around 35 years old, right? If time doesn't pass differently our previous parents and/or siblings might still be alive.

(Also, visiting the modern world sounds hilarious).
I have no problem extending the deadline if people want to write for it.

XD. Wow!! It's been so long I wondered if people actually remembered her old name! As to traveling back to her old world... maybe. You'll have to find out!!

Alright, I wrote something new for the contest. It kinda got longer than I intended, but it shouldn't be too long to read I hope.

Khesato, as most Naga, hatched within the shallows east of the sunken city. Unlike most Naga, he hatched with four arms, a mark of favor of the Deep Ones. He was to become low nobility – a knight of sharkbone. There were fifty like him that spawned within that month, or so he remembered. It had been a long time ago. What followed was the most carefree time of his life, he and fifty who would have been his brothers were moved to one of safe coral lagoons where they would play all day, returning to coral houses to feast upon fish and listen to stories of their caretakers. The caretakers only had two arms each, but they also had many scars. Later Khesato would learn that they were of the Pale Guard – those of the swarming legion that proved their bravery and skill enough to be recognized despite their low birth. They would tell tales of distant seas where strange people sailed on strange trees, moving from shore to shore, not touching water once. They would brag about great beasts of both sea and land that they had won over, tracing the map of scars to remember which they had met and how they fought. Some would speak about creatures that could swim through the air as if it was water. Khesato wanted to see those most of all.

When they grew old enough to raise a fishbone spine spike and dexterous enough to use all of their arms without tangling them up, Khesato and others were led to a shore away from the corals. It was of white sand and there was almost no seagrass anywhere. The pale guard that led them, Aptas, swam towards the shore until there was not enough water left for him to stay submerged. He allowed his tail to sink to the sand and lifted himself up above the waterline with it. He then dived back underwater and beckoned for small ones to follow suit, above the waves. It was difficult to face the air for the first time. It was hard to breathe without familiar flow going through the gills. Without water to hold them, limbs felt impossibly heavy. Aptas waited until most of tiny sharkbone knights dove back beneath the waves, unable to stay above, and told them that they would train to stay above water from now on. There were many things in the realm of dry sunlight that the Sunken City wanted, and many duties that called the Naga above. It would be our purpose to go into the choking and sickening air, away from the nurturing waters, to pursue those objects and those duties. None of the future knights were overjoyed by this. Many hid among the familiar coral reefs and had to be found later. Khesato hid better than others and only the memories of flying beasts convinced him to come out and be found.

Aptas did not skimp on training, they all stood halfway out of water each day for as long as they could. Some days, when the sun shone brightly, they would fall back quickly and Aptas would end the training early. Some other days when the sky was dark and tiny pieces of sea fell from it, they would stand for hours. Then, one day, Aptas declared that they would go to shore and train there. It was a day with shadowy sky, for Aptas was not entirely without mercy, but it was a day full of embarrassment. None of the young knights had tried to slither on sand before, and all of them soon found out that it was harder than Aptas made it out to be. The next week saw many uncertain slithers, failures of balance and even some flared tempers. But the sand was too soft to cause injury and the natural competitiveness among the group extended the time for attempts until the young knights barely had energy left to swim back home. Soon enough they could move about without falling, although they all were slower than the Pale Guard. Then, Aptas led the group to another beach, this one lined with flat rocks and the young knights found that sand indeed was easy, just as Aptas had said. This time, falling was more troublesome, and Khesato lost a few teeth when he was too slow or too weak to catch himself while falling. But this was not a great problem. Teeth grew back quickly after all.

The next great shift in their lives came when Aptas decided that they were good enough to start practicing actual combat. They started off slowly, as another Pale Guard called Karga showed them how to catch and prepare fish. They started off with small fish, each barely a meal, but moved on to larger prey, until they could battle with sharks and beat away huge octopuses that prowled among sea floor. Once they had first proven themselves against an octopus, Karga picked up one of the unassuming stones from the seafloor and cracked it open with a knife. It was the first time Khesato saw a clam and the first time he had seen steel. Others were also greatly interested in both items, but all, just like Khesato, were more interested in the knife. It gleamed like polished stone but was hard enough to split apart bones. Karga pulled a pearl from the clam and explained that the knife was bought in the surface world, and that he would teach them how they could get one as well. The lessons began with talking about what was valuable in the surface, and also in the Sunken City. This too caused a great commotion, as the young knights had never witnessed either. Karga showed them which creatures they could hunt from bone and which clams could contain pearls. He told the knights to gather both, and promised the knights to take them to a surface town. He promised this knowing what the knights would soon have to endure. Even a few more that could manage through the training would help the city greatly.

After Karga declared the knights capable to survive in the waters alone, Aptas returned with fifty other Pale Guards, and warrior training began. Each of the knights was chosen by one of the pale guard, and Khesato was fortunate enough to be chosen by Aptas. Khesato did not know, but Karga had looked over stashes that the knights had hidden away and had told Aptas about how much each knight managed to gather. Six full shark skeletons attracted attention of the senior guard, and so he chose Khesato to train personally. The knights were trained to fight with swords, spears, glaives and tridents. Blunt and ranged weapons were difficult to use underwater with any amount of efficiency, and they would have to fight both above and below. But harsher than training with weapons was training of discipline. Their masters ordered them to do most useless and obscene tasks, they stood for hours in the sun, motionless, as the guards read the code of knights. They would serve the Sunken City, they were duty-bound to the Empress, and they would uphold the laws and traditions. They would be the best, the examples of what one should strive to be. As their skill rose, the number of weapons and opponents increased, and challenges of discipline became harder. Khesato was among the most talented, he learned all weapons as was required but chose to battle with four blades. He could recite the laws without missing a beat and knew all unwritten laws of tradition that bound him and to him. He and three others were deemed ready and were sent with Karga to complete their rites.

Karga told the four to take their stashed treasure, and the five warriors swam north. The water grew colder, the fish and weeds changed around them, and after two days of swimming, Karga changed direction eastwards and they soon reached the shore. There they saw houses built not of coral but out of cut pieces of plants. Within, worked strange creatures that seemed like nothing knights had seen before. They stood on two thin limbs, making Khesato wonder how they could manage to stay upright. They were small, even on his tail Khesato was taller than any of them. They had no scales, instead possessing a smooth skin like mollusks. Unlike mollusks though, they could maintain their shape, and unlike mollusks, they were very smart. Karga dealt with them in a speech that knights could not understand, and then he told them to reveal their stacks of bone and pearls. These "humans" as Karga called them took the bones, and carved them into crowns and bracelets, then took the pearls and decorated the bone with them. The humans kept half of the goods, leaving knights with three pieces each. The humans then prepared a feast for those who were "first of the year", and placed a table within a shallow pool and covered it in food that Knights had never tasted before. It was nothing like any fish, or even the mollusks, and there was enough for each of them to eat fully. They rested until the morning and then swam north for a day more. They left the water again, and this time the air was colder than the water. It was so cold that it stung more than the hottest day, but they waited ashore for half an hour. Then, from a distance came other creatures of the surface. These new arrivals were more similar to the Naga, but as they came closer Khesato saw that the similarities were superficial. From waist down, these creatures were more like eels, their tails were rounder than those of Naga, they were black with occasional red fragment, and the very end of the tail had a rattle that make faint noises as they slithered. From waist upwards they were more akin to humans, and they all had six arms and they all had a steel blade for each arm. Their heads were crowned by obsidian black hair, and on the hair rested crowns of bone, decorated with pearls. They carried with them weapons, same as those that knights had practiced with, but rather than spellwrought bronze these were steel. Karga told the knights to leave the crafts of bone and pearls, and take a weapon for each craft left. Each knight took three weapons and returned to Karga's side, except Khesato. Khesato wanted four.

As he always had done with his brethren, he challenged one of the creatures for one of their blades. Unlike humans, these creatures could understand his words. One of them slithered forward and raised six blades against his four. Khesato charged and brought down two of his new steel blades against his foe. One of his swords was blocked by two blades, the other redirected by a third, and three arms reached out to stab him. He could not block three blades with two, but he could handle some harm. The creature seemed surprised when all three of its blades bit into flesh, though not too deeply as they had to get through both armor and scales. It was far more surprised when two blades slashed at it from both sides. The great force of a wide swing was met with a scramble of blades, first met by one apiece, soon to be joined by four more as they were freed from flesh. But the blow was strong, strong enough to force six swords in a bunch that would be unable to move in time to block two steel blades that were now free. With a victorious roar, Khesato swung forward, only to see his bronze blade break against steel. With blades freed, the creature leapt forward and spun, the six blades moved in a circle and each left a deep cut in Khesato's flesh. He fell forward, unable to stand. He heard the creature speak "You fight with bravery, but not with thought. Temper yourself, so that we may meet again. But your bone had more pearls than others, enough for a fourth blade". With that, the creature left another steel blade by Khesato's side and left with its kin. Karga and other knights carried Khesato back into the water.

As he healed, Khesato was told by Karga who he had faced. Further towards the north water turns even colder, and water outside of the sea turns into hard rocks known as ice. There live humans who capable of binding sorcery. There, in ancient times, some Naga were changed, their red blood replaced with magic ice that flowed like water but was eternally cold. They would be capable of following the mages through the snow and ice as if it was sand and stone, but they would never be able to return to the waters. These frozen Naga served the wizards, and though they were distant, they were still kin. As Khesato was rendered immobile by his wounds, he had plenty of time to think. He thought of the frozen Naga and the stories that were told by the Pale Guard. He thought of the surface world and its strange mysteries. He wanted to see those mysteries, and had told Karga so. Once Khesato could move again, Karga took him to the sunken city where he was marked with a mark of an explorer, and as a price for his training was told to bring to the Empress some wonders of the waterless world. Thus, began the journey of Khesato, the only amphibious wandering knight.

@Ryuchanwings, here it is!

Alright, here is the omake I wrote!

I'm pretty sure that I got Kaya's character completely wrong, but oh well.

Also, it's a bit dark in places. Just giving you guys a warning.

A Rogue's Nightmare

"... And that's how I got the seal," Kaya pushed the glowing crystal froward, sliding it across the table to the hands of the black haired elf in front of her. He grasped the keystone with his slender fingers and looked all over it, as if searching for imperfections.

"Kaya Tev Aranala," He eventually raised his eyes to look at her, "You have performed better than I expected. Not only did you get the seal, you also befriended a… Notable individual," He smiled at her, though the smile didn't reach his eyes, "Having an informant in the dragon's group would work in our favor in the long run."

Kaya's face paled, and she pushed herself away from the table. She knew that she shouldn't have thought that they would actually let her go away after she befriended Ivorixia. She didn't even need to glance to the sides to see that the king's bodyguards were standing around her, preparing to stop her if she would try to escape.

"You will return to the high dragons and you will report to us about their endeavours," The black haired elf finally rose from his sit, "And when we give you the order, you will-"

"I think not!" A thunderous voice echoed around the room and an entire corner of it was ripped out by a huge claw, as if it was a sheet of wet paper. The golden dragon peered into the room, with wrath in his eyes.

Kaya felt frozen by his gaze. It wasn't just about protecting his sister, he was full of hate towards her. Couple of plotting elves weren't something he hated on a personal level, but dragons didn't take betrayal easily. He had been suspicious of her from the moment his sister had taken the elf under her (literal) wing, and if given a reason to believe she would betray them, there wasn't any question what he was going to do:

Burn everything.

Kaya turned and leapt to the side as the space she occupied a moment before was filled with bellowing flames. She barreled through the door on the side and crawled away, biting her lips as she patted her lower back, which got singed by the flames. As Talothas continued to tear apart the building she was in.

The rogue didn't know how much time she ran away from the burning chaos, but eventually, the sound receded and she let herself rest with her side against a wall after turning around a corner.

"...!"

She barely heard anything, but her honed instincts let her roll away from the claw that swiped at her head, leaving claw marks at the stone the wall was made of. It was not Talothas who was standing in front of her, it was Lucian.

"Too bad, I was hoping to end it quickly," The feathery pseudodragon remarked, his tone cold and completely different from how he usually was.

"Here to protect AHaHa?" Kaya chuckled, amused by the absurdity of the situation "I swear, I'm breaking off with the thieves, I'm her friend, not a threat."

The angel wasn't easy to read in that form, but it was clear he was unperturbed by her remarks. "Oh, but you are both," He claimed, walking around her in preparation to attack, "You are a thief, a murderer. You might hide yourself from Ivori, but I can see your sins." He spoke in a cold, emotionless voice as he laid her nature bare in front of her.

Kaya grimaced, her hand sneaking behind her back to draw a dagger, "Don't you understand? I want to run away from that, I finally have that chance!"

Lucian stopped for a moment as if considering her words, before shaking his head.

"And in doing that you risk bringing down an innocent soul together with you," His eyes flared with cold determination and his body tensed. "I will protect her, no matter what."

Kaya was so ready for him to pounce that she didn't notice his tail swooping around, hitting her ankle and making her fall to the floor. The pseudodragon leapt onto her and tried to bite her neck, only for her to shove her arm into his mouth, holding him back.

It was a short struggle, which ended with Lucian's lifeless body on top of her, cold blood dripping from where her knife pierced his neck.

The elf crawled from under the body, slowly standing up and continuing forward. Her body was a mess and the pain overwhelming, but it was overshadowed by her grief. She hoped that she could explain everything, that even if the rest of the world rejected her, that the innocent silver dragon would still take her in.

But she killed Lucian, and no matter how justified it was, she knew that there was no way Ivori would forgive her for this. Still, there was no where else for her to go.

She slowly limped into the treasure room, and there she saw the one she was looking for. A beautiful girl with the wings and tail of a dragon, seemingly content with picking up a coin after coin, inspecting it before putting it in a different pile.

"Ivori…" Kaya smiled, her problems momentarily forgotten. The dragon her turned to her and smiled, and the elf felt her heart skip a bit. Maybe it would be okay, maybe Ivori would really forgive her?

She half knelt-half collapsed in front of Ivorixia with tears in her eyes. "I'm so sorry, Ivori, please. I wanted to leave all of it behind, I didn't want any of this to happen."

Kaya wept in front of the dragon girl, and the smiling girl placed two slender hands on her shoulders, steadying the weeping elf.

"Do you forgive me?" Kaya asked, looking into the cool silver eyes of Ivori. The dragon girl didn't answer, merely smiling at her before pulling her head towards the dragon girl's stomach, as if intending to hug her.

And then her entire upper body split in half, revealing rows upon wars of sharp teeth.

"Ah-" Kaya felt the mimic pulling her in in slow motion, she closed her eyes, not wanting to see the rows of teeth closing around her. In the end she didn't even get to tell Ivori she was sorry. But it was supposed to be that way, right?

She got what she deserved.

Yet… nothing happened. Kaya didn't feel hundred of sharp teeth piercing her from both sides. She opened her eyes to see herself sitting alone in the treasure room, with no trace of the deadly mimic around.

"You don't have to worry, Kaya. Nobody will hurt you here."

She snapped her head aside, and her eyes widened as she saw a golden feathery pseudodragon calmly walking towards her.

Yet… He was different from before. There was no malice to him, and it felt as if he was radiating heat in complete contrast to how cold everything else felt.

"Don't give in to your own fears, the fact that you have them means that you are not truly lost," Lucian turned around to leave as he spoke, but by the end of his sentence Kaya barely paid him any notice as her eyes were fixated on another silhouette that was approaching her.

"I'm here, Kaya," Ivorixia smiled, kneeling down in front of the elf and pulling her into a hug. For a moment Kaya completely lost herself in the hug. All her pain was gone, and she felt completely in peace.

"I'm sorry, Ivori-" She started to speak, but the dragon girl stopped her by placing a slender finger on her lips.

"It's okay, Kaya. No matter what happens, I'm at your side. You can always talk to me, and I'll never push you away."

Kaya pushed her head against Ivorixia's chest, tears rolling down her eyes.

She didn't look up, but she could practically feel the dragon girl smiling as she placed a hand on Kaya's head. "I don't care if it's the thief king or the lord of demons himself, nobody will take you away from me."

She placed a slender finger under Kaya's chin and lifted her face up to gaze into the elf's eyes, "You are mine, Kaya, and I won't let anyone hurt you."

It was weird to be so moved by a sentence that coming from another set of lips would make Kaya feel no small amount of dread. But she knew what Ivori was, and she understood the dragon's intentions.

"I love you too, Ivori," She smiled at the dragon girl. The silver eyed girl smiled and pulled her face closer.

Their lips met, and Kaya forgot everything that troubled her.

It was the best moment she had in a long while.

The elf slowly opened her eyes, feeling the sun rays on her face through the window. For few moments she continued to lie down and think, taking the time dissecting what just happened to her.

It took her few moments to understand that she was indeed dreaming, and that Talothas hasn't actually roasted the thief king while they were meeting in a place that was within walking distance of Ivorixia's treasure room. Yet the memories that stuck with her the most were the last few moments with the dragon and the words they shared, which brought a blush to her face.

"I see that you have woken up. Are you alright?" A voice asked, nearly making Kaya jump out of the bed to grab the closest knife.

"Aaaah! Lucian, what are you doing here!?" She sat up and glared at the pseudodragon, quite unhappy to find him in the bedroom she has appropriated in the ruins that Ivorixia had made into her lair.

The cute feather dragon tilted his head while observing her, "I felt that you were having an unpleasant dream, so I came here to ease your sleep. "

Kaya blinked several times in surprise after hearing that. She had several questions, but one was way more pressing than the others.

"My dream…" She asked, her tone cold as ice, "Did you see any of it?"

The angel stared at her for few moments before slowly nodding, "Yes, most of it."

With a flash of anger Kaya grabbed the closest item she could reach and flung it at Lucian's face, "Don't you dare tell her a word about this, you hear!?"

The pillow softly impacted the pseudodragon and remained on his head like some kind of large fluffy berate. Lucian seemed to consider his next words carefully, which angered Kaya even more.

"I will not lie to AHaHa, but I'll make effort to preserve your privacy," Lucian gave that non-comitant answer before gracefully leaving the room in hopes of avoiding the second pillow that went flying at his direction.

Kaya took a deep breath and exhaled. She wasn't sure how much of the last part of the dream she had was her and how much was Lucian's effect. Was she truly yearning for something like that, or was the angel's loyalty rubbing off her?

Whatever it was, she knew one thing:

She wanted to know if kissing the same lips she kissed in her dream would fill the void in her and let her find her own place in the world.

A/N:

I tried to show how Kaya might view the rest of Ivori's party (All of which are quite dangerous, to be honest). For all she knows Tal might be a very dangerous dragon and Lucian might be moments away from burning the heretics, but they are all held back by Ivorixia. She doesn't know them all that well.

Adding to that her problems with the king of thieves which presumably have some influence over her, and it wouldn't be far fetched for her to have a not so pleasant dream about everything going wrong.

Of course, it was all a dream, which ended quite well thanks to Lucian's intervention. Now, the only question is would Lucian tell Ivori about Kaya's feelings~?

:p

P.S. Ivori X Kaya OTP!
P.S.S. Mimics are terrifying.

Also @DreamerGhost oh WOW, so cool!! Seadwelling nagas: approved. There are also going to be landbased nagas, however.

Edit: OMIGOSH @Itaywex THAT WAS AWESOME!!! XDDD

Probably the one thing that would have made the dream worse, was that, in killing Lucian, there probably would have been a horrible, horrible scream as Ivorixia felt his pain and death, and the severing of their connection. If she'd been in flight at the time, she would have fallen.

That's the thing about familiars. They protect you on several levels, but such a connection doesn't go just one way, after all. They're bound to your soul. Aaaand there MAY have been a mistake or two when forming the bond. Perhaps.

And yes, Mimics ARE terrifying. Mimikyu is likely to do the thing if they get the chance at this point, which is why they need many lessons in manners. I find it pretty funny how Mimikyu and Kaya are pretty much natural enemies.

This brought up another question; Obviously this is a Harem type quest, but I'm pretty loose on my interpretation of 'Harem', and I was wondering a little on people's favorite ships thus far? Does anyone ship anyone with Tal?

Next installment should be tonight! Thank you all, dear questers! Please let me know if anyone else has submissions to the Omake contest! If not, it will close at midnight tonight.

I feel like my favorite member of our Harem is obviously our treasure... all that gold... mmm....

Well, I have a rough idea for another Omake, but I've submitted two already, so feel free to close it up tonight. I can't wait for this next update. This quest is much more calm than the other ones I'm following/running.

XD I am trying for a realistic, but still entertaining pace. There is one more person I am dying to introduce, but he's... got to have a really good entrance. XD. He's going to be your first wizard, hopefully.

Well it was worth a shot since I figure that pouting would work on a dragon, but it appears I was worng.
I have to try and surprise you guys sometimes. It's hard when you all are my kinda people and like a lot of the same tropes and such.

While true, remeber that it is a dream, and thus relies more on Kaya's knowledge than how reality actually is. So either she didn't know that killing Lucian would affect Ivorixia that way, or she just didn't think about it.

Also, is the omake canon?

If she'd been in flight at the time, she would have fallen.
So... Ivori would just land normally? It does seem like we crash into the ground more than we commit successful landings :V

On to the Village of Thieves.
Guys, your rogue is denser than I thought when it comes to the ways of luff. XD Must stem from trust issues.

"Well, yes, I am, but, no, not really." I tried to explain. She was sort of distracting me, with her ridiculous similarities to Nyo!Germany. Kind of a serious face, obviously strong, I had no doubt that she could probably lift me in this form on one arm and Kaya on the other and not look the least bit like she was having trouble doing so. My old practice of doing a brief once-over of people's bodies to gauge their muscular condition kicked in; She had definite tension I wished I could work out, but I had claws even in this form.... I shook my head. "Um, did you, maybe, want to be a part of my hoard? PARTY!!" I half-shouted, eyes going wide as I caught my mistake, hand going to my mouth as Kaya and Theyra both looked at me, eyes going wide and brows lifting almost to their hairlines. Lucian, the adorable traitor that he was, merely smiled and excused himself, going to get us some snacks, while Kaya put a hand over her own mouth to try holding back giggles, though Mirth shone easily from her pretty emerald eyes. "I mean, no, do you want to travel with us? Not that you're not pretty enough to me in my hoard, I think you're totally buff and hot, and stuff, but... I swear to the Gods I need to learn to shut up and stop rambling someday." I muttered, rubbing my face with my hands. "Wanna be friends?" I finally asked lamely, peeking up at her through my eyelashes and fingers.

Oh wow. She was smiling at me. She had a bit of a blush on her own face, but she was also smiling in a way that made something inside me twist in a funny way and swallow reflexively. "I would be honored to travel with you, Lady AHaHa."

I almost told her to call me Ivori, like Kaya and Lucian did, but there were a lot of people around still, and I didn't want my nickname to spread yet. Dragon name needed more renown first. As it was, I tilted my head and flashed her a smile, still a little shy. "Um... yes, well." I cleared my throat with a light cough.

"Sorry for taking a little while, ladies." Lucian said as he returned, levitating a tray of cakes over to us, and I mentally forgave him for his great timing as well as the smell of fudge cake and frosting. My mouth immediately began to water profusely. Oh my god, everything smelled better and stronger as a dragon. Even chocolate. It was almost too much for me. Almost. Not quite. I snatched two of them before I could stop myself and dug in, giving a satisfied moan as the rich flavor hit my tongue. Moist, delicious cake, thick fudge frosting, I was in cocoa heaven.

We took a seat within easy viewing distance of the wrestling ring, where Tal was currently showing off with a couple of the viking guys, some vikings and townspeople around the ring already chattering and making bets, from what I could hear. I was content to just talk to Kaya and Theyra off to the side, Lucian laying with his head next to my knee, body laying behind my back on the bench, tail dangling against the side of my other thigh as I absentmindedly stroked his wings and back.

We actually wound up staying at the village only for a few more hours. I could tell that the geas was really wearing on Kaya now. We let Tal wrap up his domination of the other vikings, (Whom I was pretty sure were going to become his followers) and the girls figured out who was riding with whom (I resolved to look into flying mounts when we got to a larger city, as they both chose to ride with me, and therefore things were a tad bit awkward.) before we finally got back on track and headed out for the hidden town in the Tiger Eye Mountain range, a much smaller range than the one I called home for decades, South of the Elves' forested kingdom and the border river of Mnemberis. There were thick forests there too, but limited to the mountain through logging. I mused on how the various Mountain Ranges of this continent were all named after precious stones. Maybe I should name the small mountains up on my little floating island too?

I took the travel time to try and get to know Theyra better. She was a woman of few words outside of formalities. She had a strong sense of honor, and apparently a hidden talent for baked goods, which prompted my desire to make my way to Locus Crescent next, to stock up on cooking supplies before our return. That would also be the most likely place for me to get us flying mounts. Unless I could find some wyverns or Lesser Dragons. Then Tal and I could probably command them. I felt a little weird about using my 'authority' like that against others of my own kind. Apparently only other High Dragons, Elemental Dragons, Great Dragons could refuse an order from a High Dragon, and only really, really stupid Standard dragons would try. (Though ignoring mom or dad would be MEGA stupid of them.)

Oh, I haven't explained this before. I'll take a moment.

Article:
AT THE TOP; HIGH DRAGONS. We are the rarest of all Dragonkind, and most powerful, the ruling class. There's apparently a little sub-pocket of those of us who descended from the Elder Drake herself. Go figure.
ELEMENTAL DRAGONS; These guys are pretty powerful. Unlike High Dragons, they lack some of the Oomph and lineage, but these guys are also huge and specialize in one element only. Intelligent and can be fairly dangerous.
GREAT DRAGONS; These guys are pretty great, and some can surpass the level of Elemental Dragons. Intelligent and large (Though not as huge as we can get usually) you usually see these guys as protectors of specific lands, tombs or even Kingdoms sometimes. A lot of them can use magic, though it's not natural to them like it is to us. Highest amount of mixed blood.
STANDARD DRAGONS: Pretty much this is the common citizen class of Dragon in this world. I mean, they're still DRAGONS, so, they're still giant, flying, speaking, fire-breathing reptiles with fangs and claws and a penchant for riddles and treasure, but they're smaller and much weaker than us. Usually. Some sub-species and variants.
LESSER DRAGONS, WYVERNS: They still look like dragons, but these guys lack intelligence and the ability to speak. Driven by instinct, some kingdoms are lucky enough to catch a few. Many sub-species and variants.
PSEUDO-DRAGONS; Usually cute as heck, they range in size from a VERY BIG Dog to about three inches long. There are many variants.

Anyway, I thought it was an interesting idea that was worth further thought.

We landed in a place that Kaya directed us to, a slope on the mountain, that Kaya said was a little to the Southwest of the village. She fidgeted a bit, like she was struggling with something, pacing back and forth on the ground. "... I don't... want to ask you to come with me." She finally said after a few moments. "The King... My father and the others, they're nothing like those noble thieves in books. They're really, really horrible people. But, if you want to keep the Seal, you'll have to go with me." She looked at us. "I've a history of being manipulative. And backstabbing. And... well, not nice in general." She said, clutching the keystone with white knuckled. "I understand if you want the keystone and not me, but-"

So... Ivori would just land normally? It does seem like we crash into the ground more than we commit successful landings :V
You crashed into water and got lucky that the looney toon laws of physics were in place: as long as it's funny.

That would not be funny, falling out of the sky on land would shatter bones and quite possibly kill you. Though I wouldn't find that too fun.

[X] "Don't worry, I got this"
[X] BURN THE FOREST!!

Time to make a name for ourselves. (Also, all the other plans rely on some sort of subtlety, which isn't exactly our string suit, especially if we shapeshift. I don't really want to get close to a bunch of thieves and murderers, especially with Kaya nearby. Let's smoke him out and show that we mean business.).

Now, as to the omake contest.

Wow!! These entries were a lot of fun, thank you all for participating. The winners are as follows;

For world exploration, seeking to tie a character into the main storyline and making a fun and engaging story that matches the tone and theme of the story, @RaptorusMaximus, congratulations!

For doing some very good creative character exploration into a lovely rogue I have not elaborated on much yet, but trying to stay true to the characters, @Itaywex, congratulaions!

And to @DreamerGhost , who did some worldbuilding I enjoyed very much, as well as contributing to the world and lore at large, as well as an entire subspecies of Naga, congratulations!

All three of you please send me pms to start working on your prizes.

Could we mimic our Mimic? Become a bracelet for example?
Good idea, but sadly you cannot turn into an inanimate/lifeless/non organic object and turn back. That is not part of our natural shapeshifter abilities. Mimikyu can because that is their nature. XD. So getting turned into a tea kettle? No bueno.

Possible idea:
Tal should stay back, I think, amd be ready to swoop in and Dragon if things go to shit. Lucian should stay with Tal o we can use our bond to call for backup if necessary. Theyra may stay with them as well, unless Kaya can think of a reason why she'd be with her. As for Ahaha, @Ryuchanwings does she know any Invisibility spells?
If so, She should transform into humanoid form (ideally sans wings) and sneak in with Kaya while invisible, then drop the invisibility at an oportune moment. Or not, actually: maybe after Kaya gives up the stone, Aha could steal if back while invisible.
