Get innocent people out the way. Give the rebels a little support. Head back home and start drumming up political support to pressure the Demacian government.

There's an actual peaceful society of mages, rebuilding an abandoned settlement that no-one else wanted. Growing food even. Plenty of reason for the council to offer diplomatic recognition to Luxes peaceful mages and sanctuary for refugees.

If the council can pressure Demacia and act as a mediator to come to a negotiated settlement then we might cut off the war before it ever really begins in earnest. Or we might not be able to get Sylas to stand down, but it should be an easy sell to convince Demacia they've got enough problems without attacking peaceful mages and forcing them to defend themselves. Especially if Piltover is willing to back the peaceful mages.

It does mean we leave behind Lux when she's who we came to save..... But honestly screw that helpless princess needing a rescuer crap. She's girlbossing and kicking ass and protecting people and has asked if we really want to help her we can do so by saving some of the innocents who want to GTFO.

We keep the vow we swore to not take up arms except in our own defence, Luxanna's or an innocents. Do Lux a solid. Help the people who actually need it. And hey, if we turn back up in Piltover with news of a whole new farming community who'd love the councils support and would be able to sell us food and grain? Well. There we have it.

None of that is going to work. Not drumming up the political support, not pressuring Demacia, and not Lux girlbossing her way to victory. Piltover was indifferent to the plight of the people across the river from them. They're not going to care for a random group of Demacians, and that's ignoring that they're all mages. It's optimistic to think they're not going to lump them in the same group as the rebelling mages. That goes for assuming that the community can reliably trade considering they're trying to keep a low profile because they're being hunted for being mages, or that Piltover would even want to trade with them instead of their normal partners in Demacia. In ideal circumstances, we'd have more support but the Viktor situation is going to take up all of Jayce's focus, and Jinx can't ignore that either. So it's not even guaranteed that we can get the council to recognise the group.

Demacia, on the other hand, has no reason to come to a negotiated settlement. First, you're expecting them to change up their traditions when they feel validated about their oppression of mages since there's now a mage rebellion and their King is dead from the lead mage. The same one that Lux argued in defense of shortly before their King got killed. Secondly, on top of the aggro from being mages, this group Demacia is giving up land to has the added aggro from being led by Lux since her uncle wants to wipe out the stain on their family honor. Eldred would have been seething about his niece being offered amnesty, but she blew that up by viciously insulting Jarvan after Garen begged for her to be spared.

Finally, Lux is in over her head. She was sheltered before this, and now she has to lead in this crisis. Abandoning her is irresponsible considering that we've been warned about how the airship is visible, and Lux popped a flare to signal us. Any mageseekers in the area will know where she is, and that's if they haven't been curious about this new village popping up. The Kirrammans risked themselves by setting things up so Jinx can be here, and it'd be a shame to leave Lux to face the music alone and waste that effort.

Just finished reading the quest and I really loved it. It scratched that arcane itch. For the vote, normally I would prefer to be neutral to not start even greater political issue but taking airship may have lowkey screwed Lux. So I think I will go with mage friend comrade Jinx

Why do any of you care? We'd never met Tiana before last update, and she's clearly still invested in being a cop. We don't owe her shit, never mind letting a promise made under duress take precedence over both a longtime friendship/crush and Jinx's firmly established stance of "fuck the police." I don't understand what's going on here! Why did anyone ever care about that stupid fucking oath? Why do you still care after getting Lux's side of the story?! Why are you more shy about burning bridges with Lux's aunt than Lux herself is?!

If it were merely a promise you would have a point, Lux is the priority and her aunt is our enemy. But we made an Oath. That's a big deal, especially in a country like Demacia. If you gain a reputation as an oathbreaker then your word becomes worthless. You can't credibly testify, make deals, or give and accept surrenders. You become a person that cannot be trusted or dealt with except from a position of overwhelming power.

All that said, the oath we made was very specific and can be argued to only support the revolution option.

"I will be damned by all these half-measures. Your word, then, that you will only take up arms against them in defense of your own life, Luxanna's, or an innocent's, and will show mercy whenever practical. And that you will take my niece to safety, treat her well and with honor, and give her the peace and happiness her homeland and family could not."

We made an oath to "take (Lux) to safety" and to "treat her well and with honour." Leaving her here or knocking her out to kidnap her back to Piltover violates these explicit components of the oath. Meanwhile, our oath to "take up arms" in defence of "Luxanna and the innocent" on the condition that we "show mercy whenever practical" argues strongly for us joining the rebellion to protect Lux and her refugees. The condition of practicality is also incredibly subjective and so long as our actions were in defence of the above mentioned parties we could credibly argue for unleashing Pow Pow on every Demacian sent our way, with only the usual rules of war like not executing prisoners falling within our restrictions related to showing mercy wherever practical. Since Lux refuses to leave without resolving the Civil War that also makes any offensive actions that we take in conflict with Demacia fall under the practicality allowance of our oath to "take (Lux) to safety."

So to both fulfill our oath and to protect our friend the only choice can be revolution. Which is ironic really, one of the leaders of Demacia has inadvertently made us swear an oath to overthrow her government.

We swore an oath to protect Lux and I don't want to risking losing one of our few postve traits.

Plus, it is Jinx. She likes overthrowing governments.

With the zapper she should be able to knock people out, or use her technology to make the revolution less bloody, so she should be aboe to keep one half of the oath fulfilled.

I just want something interesting to happen
It would be a waste to come here just to fucking leave

The plan was always to come here and just leave, though in retrospect just showing up in the first place feels like a mistake.
Yeah, we should have gone to Demacia AFTER dealing with the Viktor situation... Hell we may have been able to pick Ekko or Caitlyn as reinforcements, but hey people felt bad about abandoning Lux and we're cool with abandoning 6 of our friends and our adopted sister...

Other than taking Lux out of Demacia, we can still fulfill the oath by making the revolution painless as much as possible, which means avoid killing whenever possible, make plans that decrease casualties on both side, ensure the mages win whilenmaintaingnthe moral highground and somehow convince the majority of Demacia that mages are people and deserve humane treatmen.

1. Convince the public that Sylas blowing up the crowd during his execution was mostly accidental, as he was panicking.

2. Make sure that if the mages won they don't go on a executing spree on the nobility and royalty.

3. End the civil war without killing King Jarvan IV and if possible the least amount of bloodshed.

These won't stop mage discrimination in Demacia entirely, but will help convince the people of demacia that mages aren't evil monsters.

In fact one of the strategies to is to capture the king Jarvan and other high ranking nobles.

Man we are staying in Demacia 2-3 weeks at most, we don't have time to do shit...

If we pick the "Fight For The Revolution! Free the Mages! Down with Jarvan IV!" we are going to use our airship to help Sylas to invade the capital with the more bloodthirsty mages... Don't try to picture a scenario in which that course of action doesn't end up in a bloodbath...

I personally have 0 problems in breaking the oath and giving Demacia as a whole a well deserved retribution (I am voting to come back ASAP because we have left our friends is a terrible situation in Piltover)... But I find quite annoying when people says that "this is the only way to fulfil our oath" or that we can prevent the inocents to suffer when fucking Sylas is involved...

Also collateral. Sylas ain't no better Silco, just a lot worse off origin wise.

Really not appreciating this entire derail from the main, fate of the world affecting plot. Coming to Dalmacia is the worst decision made since we finished Mousers instead of, well, doing anything else.

Counterpoint: We need to rescue the waif. Jinx needs her waif. Viktor's Glorious Crash-out Evolution can wait.
