I am good going with partial truth but I would like to ask the GM if we can tell individual elf the truth later if it comes up
While there is some expectation of 'leaking' from the Archmages to other elves, you don't expect them to start announcing whatever you tell them. Consider the society they come from and the modes knowledge transmission.Yeah but I thought it was implied that's what we are telling the rest of the elfs though them
If it's just these particular ones i might go with the full truth
Probably to learn about them.I got to ask. How come we dissect the animals? Not that I don't mind in fact i actually love this stuff and hope that there will be more, but I'm really curious about it.
Is that enough, that's is the question.
While secrets and lies are powerful tools they are unfortunately also tools wielded by our greatest foe
That certainly fits with how Morghur's spirit was able to, with enough time, subvert them unconsciously. But one the archmages eventually did. Centered on a core of ghur and ghyran, spites were made up of some of the most simple and straightforward magical 'elements' imaginable; curiosity, rage, joy, hunger, and so on. They acted as they did because those were the primal emotions of the forest itself— the hunger of starving beasts, the curiosity of keen-eyed ravens, the joy of tumbling squirrels, and the rage of a parent protecting its nest.
That is somehow close enough to actually be workable. Not that we need it, but could lead to some interesting conclusions. The Liche Priests of ancient Nehekhara held that the every self-aware mortal being consists of seven material and immaterial parts.
- Kha - The kha was the physical body.
- Ka - The ka was the person's ego, reason, and abstract thought.
- Ba - The ba was the subconscious self and the individual's emotions.
- Ab - The ab was the individual's awareness of right and wrong, and their ability to choose between the two, the conscience.
- Khaibit - The khaibit was the physical shadow of a self-aware being. To the Liche Priests, the existence of a shadow was a byproduct of existence and showed that the being in question was mortal or at least affected by time.
- Ren - The ren was the True Name. It was the metaphysical "notion" or "idea" of a self-aware being, the signifier of self and identity generated through interaction with the mortal world; it was their memory or legacy, essentially how a person is remembered in history.
- Sekhem - Sekhem was the soulfire, the aethyric energy which actually comprised the essence of the soul.
Ascensions? So a bit off topic, but would Slann be concerned how close Mortuary cult and their Liche priests got to 'figuring out' souls stuff?

Do wonder if it may lead to ascensions...
