[X] Call for Help.

Homura and Madoka are nothing more then big fish in a small pawnd. Withenight and One Sin are the bigger fish in a even bigger pawnd.

I really have to wonder what invoking the duo of One Sin and WhiteNight will do when we are supposed to be avoiding self-sacrifice when opposing divinity. If it weren't for the wrinkle with Yuki I could accept Madoka and Homura's proposal, but...

[X] Call for Help.

"My loved ones, who now eagerly desire the greater gifts; I will show you the most excellent way."

[X] Call for Help.

The obvious choice is to call for other abnormalities and presences in the Light, but don't forget that the rest of Yuki's friends are here as well and they don't want to forget either. Teamwork!

Anyone know if there's significance to the thread numbering breaking sequence?

I kinda want to see what struggling would be, surrender being an option is strange. But we have Chekhov's guns with both One Sin/WhiteNight and those with the Seed of Light, it's time to use it.

And nobody is surprised that this ended up unanimous. Time to call for help.

Now to hope Binah does not show up too, else you need to find new gods :V

Call for help

There is nothing to be done. No one here can so much as scratch the living goddesses before them. They can not even stand in their presence.

Forced to her knees by pressure alone, Yuki desperately clasps the crosses on her necklace. The thorns bite into her fingers, spilling warm blood over skin and steel.

"Please," she whispers, her voice painfully loud in the ringing silence. "You've been there all along. Now's the time."

Bent over in a pose so reminiscent of prayer, Yuki gathers all eyes onto herself. Be it Kyoko's befuddlement or Mami's total confusion, she notices none of them. Not even The Law Of Cycles and The Devil, still floating near.

"I know it hurts," The Devil says, still unhappy. "But it's the way things are. Neither of us can maintain this reality for much longer, and you all belong in it."

"Of course there is a way," Oriko snaps back. She barely gets one foot under herself, but fails to rise under The Devil's eyes. "You two are just too content with your solution to find it!"

"That's ungracious," The Law Of Cycles cuts in. "We all know this isn't a great end, but what Homura said is true; neither of us is omnipotent. I can only act within the nature of my purpose, with some allowances made for tangential matters. Homura just isn't stable enough right now, even if she could maybe do it. And I disagree that Yuki's development was unique, too; surely it can happen again, even if the circumstances are different?"

Winds pick up, nearly drowning out all other noise. A soft ping sounds in the distance as the sky turns pitch black.

"It doesn't matter," Oriko grouses back. She still struggles to stand. "I want this Yuki."

Another ping, louder this time. The heavy glare of a silent girl pierces the souls of all present; even the two goddesses twitch, looking around.

A soft sob follows, belonging to none of them. The scent of smoke wafts from Yuki's hands, though no fire shows.

"What are you doing?" The Devil asks, more bewildered than anything.

Yuki looks back up at her, eyes alight with gold.

"I won't fade away without a trace. We came too far to accept half-measures."

"This world will only collapse faster if you keep fighting us," The Law Of Cycles answers sadly.

"Then we rebuild from the shards!"

"You-" The pink goddess starts, only to freeze. A ray of golden light shines from behind her, followed by the spread of pure white wings. Pale gleams run over her body in waves of soul-rending force.

A moment passes silent, in utter disbelief, then The Law Of Cycles lets out a shriek of pain. The world shakes under the noise, loud enough to shatter the heavens. Her wings flake away and she drops like a rock, revealing what floats behind her.

"Ye shan't have other gods beside me," White Night intones, another wave of pale energy loosening from His fetus-like body. "I allow thy transgression against my flock no more."

"Mado-AHhhhhhhhhhh!"

And The Devil follows her beloved with a scream, bombarded by pale lightning. Its origin is a floating skull, pierced through by a crucifix. Its empty eyesockets follow Homura's descent, not a sound given. The Devil's spasming fingers release you at last.

And far above, a blue star begins to shine in the shape of a heart. Its winds blow across the endless plains, shaking the magical girls staring in rapture at the sight before them. Two goddesses, faltering under an onslaught from beings that their minds can scarcely comprehend.

Kyoko falls back to her knees, seeking solace in prayer. Not to any particular of the deities arrayed, but to the idea of God in general. Nagisa and Sayaka both call out in worry, but do no more. Oriko stands plainly shocked, even when Kirika's hand slips into hers. Yuma and Mami are frozen in place as well, one hugging the other for stability.

And Yuki finally rises back to her feet. Her hands fall to her sides, eyes upon the pair. White Night, the saviour. One Sin And Hundreds Of Good Deeds, the one who absolves all sins. Two of the most pivotal Abnormalities in the grand performance that was Lobotomy Corporation.

"Thank you," she says, hands clenching around her mallet.

The skull says nothing. The fetus turns to her with blazing eyes, however.

"Beest thou of our flock or any other, thy call for aid was genuine. And so I arrived, as I promised I would. For I am thy saviour."

They float almost gently to the ground, where The Law Of Cycles is starting to rise. Another pale wave gathers and spews forth, but it rolls over a pure pink aura and disperses. The goddesses' eyes blaze as she forces it back.

"No more," she grinds out, even as her skin begins to break.

Yuki answers with a mallet to the face. The Law Of Cycles goes airborne, pursued by more of White Night's attacks. New familiars gather along the collapsing ground, climbing through the cracks, but White Night's twelve apostles oppose them; each a bleached bone white just like their master, their spears, swords, and scythes shining in baleful crimson.

Blue Star pings the world once more, sucking in countless familiars that look up at its radiance.

And the others join Yuki, splitting up between their two opponents without a word. Sayaka, Mami, Yuma, and Kirika all converge upon the downed Devil. Sayaka seems especially gleeful, rushing ahead even when Homura breaks free of the skull's constant barrage.

A golden fist smashes into The Devil's head as she tries to take distance, slamming her toward the attacking girls.

The Magical Girl of Happiness winks at her momentary allies, even as she fades from existence again. They use the opening she gives them and start attacking The Devil with everything they have.

Yuki races after The Law Of Cycles instead. The goddess barely manages to fend off her relentless assault, having never once sought physical combat in her entire existence. Oriko and Kyoko follow, riding on the caterpillar that is Nagisa's Witch.

Their assault is pure momentum, a chance given by the sudden attack of beings greater than them. They keep driving their opponents across the infinite space, their allies devouring the familiars desperately trying to help.

Yet even with the deck stacked against them, neither of the pair gives easily. They yield ground aplenty, avoiding any true hits through speed and desperation. Fragments of glittering stardust break off them with every motion, shaken loose by the previous assault.

The Devil grits her teeth and surges forward; even slowed by the feeble grasp of Kirika's magic, she is impossibly fast. She lets Sayaka drive a cutlass through her side, surprising the blunette for the moment it takes to run her over. Yuma gets backhanded by a torn wing, even as Mami's bullets drive bloody tears into Homura's side. She kicks the other girl in the face and sends her flying back.

Mami recovers, but now Homura has the distance she wanted. She snatches Kirika's wrist and performs a picture perfect shoulder throw, then uses her as a living shield from Mami.

Homura barely has time to breathe before a glowing rapier rams through her free hand. Another wave of pale death surges through The Devil, making her spasm. Kirika breaks free of her iron grasp, allowing Mami to pepper her with more bullets. Another rapier slides into her foot to prevent escape.

The owner of those weapons floats above, offering a gentle curtsy. Her pale skin is nearly white, garbed in midnight blue. Stars shine upon her dress, the image of a single teardrop drawn beneath her eye. The Magical Girl of Justice vanishes alongside her weapons, almost a mirage, were it not for her weapons still stuck in the ground.

The Law Of Cycles tries to escape higher and higher, avoiding all but Yuki still. She trails a cloud of pink dust, in which viridian shines as the magical girl pursues. Her friends are never far behind, harrying the goddess.

"Submit," White Night intones as they appear in Madoka's way. "Today shall-" "No!"

And the Law Of Cycles rams straight through Him, nearly killing Him with the erratic spasms of her powers. White Night falls, vanishing like His counterpart has already done.

"I can't leave things like this," the pink goddess says, more to herself than anyone else. She rears back up and swings her bow, shattering it against Yuki's mallet. The force of her counter drives Yuki back, where a wave of pink light from Her palm almost vaporises her.

"You won't make things as you want them, either!" Yuki roars back.

Just then, Kyoko leaps off Nagisa and slams into The Law Of Cycles, only to be caught in a bearhug. Madoka twirls around herself and throws the redhead straight at Yuki, forcing her further back. She avoids Nagisa's attempt to ram her and snatches the smoky streamers of Oriko's E.G.O, then pulls the seer off her steed.

In turn, Oriko pulls herself up by those strands of energy, fast enough to crest above the goddess. The Law Of Cycles already takes distance from her, preventing any attacks. Yuki catches her friend before she can fall, allowing their opponent to get further away.

Only for a train to ram into Madoka's back. Its foghorn is the wail of the damned as it races across the night sky, driving the goddess upon its front like roadkill. She grunts in pain, pressed flat against the train. Yuki and friends pass her by along the way until, eventually, she can gather enough power to emit a cleansing pulse of energy. It disintegrates the train, who vanishes with another warbled wail.

The Law Of Cycles floats in place, limbs hanging weakly. She is dishevelled now, eyes wild with an instinct older than herself. The desire to survive outweighs all the rest in the face of such adversity.

But no attack comes. Yuki holds back her friends from coming near, confusing the goddess for a precious second. Radiant golden eyes meet triumphant crimson ones.

And then the goddess hears it. Distant, yet unmistakable: another voice, chanting.

"Bathe my enemies in the light of justice, so that they may find their own light once again! Burn the evil, protect the good, forevermore! In my hand I raise to the heavens a sword that banishes the darkness!"

Madoka turns slowly to face the newcomer, who is surrounded in glowing light as pink as Herself. Pale blue hair floats gently behind her, pastels and pinks fluttering in the absence of wind. A heart-shaped spell blooms from her star-tipped staff, a bright smile on the Magical Girl of Love's face.

"ARCANA SLAVE!"

And once again, a pink tear is carved across the black sky. It takes the battered goddess straight into the chest, drowns her in so much power that her fraying self can not resist its force. She is thrust groundward, her cry drowned out by the shriek of colossal amounts of energy being discharged.

When it ends, silence envelops the field. All has stopped on both sides, for The Law Of Cycles does not get up. She lies still within the crater her body made, easily three metres deep.

Yuki begins to descend, waving toward Love up high. Her senior returns it with undue enthusiasm, then teleports right in front of them. Kyoko tenses momentarily, but drops it when Love presses a kiss on Yuki's forehead. The healing power takes hold in an instant, wiping away all the bruises and scratches Yuki obtained.

Love then blows a kiss to the other magical girls, which becomes materialised as a gleaming heart.

"Good luck!" she cheers, then vanishes into sparks of pink.

They reunite with their friends before long. Nobody is quite in a celebrating mood, though. Neither does anyone ask questions of the beings they just beheld.

The Devil is kneeling over The Law Of Cycles, weakly clasping her hand. Both of them were about to become whole once more, after being broken and separated so long. Yet the force of the assault splintered them again. They fracture in body and being.

Seeing them try so desperately to get back up stirs only one emotion in everyone.

Sadness.

"This isn't how it ends," The Devil whispers, pulling her beloved to stand.

"This can't be how it ends," The Law Of Cycles agrees.

And then they both shatter.

Reality breaks with them.

Through the caleidoscope Yuki falls, only to find herself where she stood before. Before her stand not two goddesses, but two desperate girls. The white dress and steel bow are gone, replaced with a poofy pink one and rosewood. The black dress and obsidian bow are gone, replaced with a dark shirt and skirt, and a familiar buckler.

Madoka's expression changed, having become the grit of a budding lioness. In turn, Homura's hair is braided now, a deep red frame with thick glasses on her nose.

Just as Madoka raises her bow, Yuki does her mallet. Across the multitude of the Mirror, other Madokas and Homuras raise their weapons against the rest.

They are alone now, but united in spirit. Each in the same space, yet forever distant. Blue Stars light has faded, yet its rays connect them still.

And through the fractals of the mirror's shards, Oriko breaks to join Yuki. Volcanic light contracts around her body, a spiderweb of energy expressed. Her soft hand lands on Yuki's shoulder.

No words are needed between them now. Oriko came to her this time.

Homura's buckler begins to click, announcing what is about to happen. The noise reverberates across realities as all of her repeat the same motion, so familiar there is no difference between them all.

But the head of a dark green scythe digs into her shield in every reality. Homura gasps in surprise, then horror, when the hourglass shatters.

The Price of Silence undulates, then snakes away into the ether. Its due was paid.

And now the fight is fair.

"Let's finish this," Oriko says softly. "Make our feelings reach."

Yuki gives a soft nod. Pragmatism tells her to strike before Homura overcomes her shock, but she waits. This is not about winning anymore. This is a conversation, even if no words are spoken.

Despite her meeker appearance, Homura firms up. A familiar look settles on her face as she rights her glasses. Madoka shuffles closer, touching her shoulder in reassurance.

The determination of two who defied fate against all odds. The desire to hold onto what fragile happiness the other two found. Two equals, or two so different in outlook and ability.

They Who Broke Fate

Homura
-Threat Rating: HE
-Threat Assessment: Her time magic is broken, but her skill remains. Her body will give before her heart does.

Madoka
-Threat Rating: HE
-Threat Assessment: Though weaker, her arrows are still plenty. She made up her mind.

[x] Fight side by side

No real strategy or plan for this one, just what my personal gut feeling says we should do.

[X] Fight side by side

I knew It, I knew that Withe night and One Sin where stronger than Madoka and Homura. It was rufff. Now one last fight and its doable. Let's end this once and for all.

I think Homura confused Yuki for asking her, instead of One Sin.

Then again, there was only one conversation where Yuki talked about them, and she didn't point them out that much during it.

I see Whitenight didn't let go of the arrogance.... Still better than at first though, the guy would've made Madoka into an apostle or killed her if he hadn't been changed, pretty sure.

A golden fist smashes into The Devil's head as she tries to take distance, slamming her toward the attacking girls.

The Magical Girl of Happiness winks at her momentary allies, even as she fades from existence again.

She disappeared instantly? Aww, hoped she could have a fun moment with Nagisa about going waka waka waka. :V:V:V:V

"Submit," White Night intones as they appear in Madoka's way. "Today shall-" "No!"

And the Law Of Cycles rams straight through Him, nearly killing Him with the erratic spasms of her powers. White Night falls, vanishing like His counterpart has already done.

Ok that is funny.

Whitenight gets a reminder he is not all powerful.

Alternative scene: Love goes for the kiss and transform midway, putting Yuki in her mouth.

Then the healing magic begins taking effect.

But the head of a dark green scythe digs into her shield in every reality. Homura gasps in surprise, then horror, when the hourglass shatters.

The Price of Silence undulates, then snakes away into the ether. Its due was paid.

Let's be honest, Price of Silence had to be itching to do that since forever.

It did get a cameo earlier, and I'm sure it really wished it could've do that then.

Her body will give before her heart does.
Easy fight then, as she does suffer from a heart disease. :V

[] Disrupt their teamwork with your own

I am tempted by that one, but I don't want to remove the link between Homura and Madoka but strengthen it, and I fear this one would weaken it too much.

I was about the vote for Fighting side by side, but then I realized something:

We want to show how real the friendship between Oriko and Yuki is, how deep it goes and how much they trust each other.

So, at the end of the day:

[x] Disrupt their teamwork with your own

Show them that a house divided is weaker than one united, and that Yuki as she is right now matters, what she has with Oriko matters.

Easy fight then, as she does suffer from a heart disease. :V
I knew someone would make that joke :V
I knew It, I knew that Withe night and One Sin where stronger than Madoka and Homura.
Not really, actually. One Sin and White Night were stronger than Madoka and Homura at that moment. Had both goddesses had enough time to really put themselves back together, this would have ended differently. As it were, the Law of Cycles was still reintegrating her core and The Devil has never been the most stable existence to begin with. Add the strain of maintaining an entire reality, which neither of them is made for, and then them getting stabbed in the back by powerful opponents with Pale damage. Which, as a reminder, attacks the soul directly.

So yes. In this situation, the Abnormalities 'won'. The Law Of Cycles still nearly one-shot White Night when she got a moment to focus. And that was without her bow.

Or in short, as with many things at that level, there is no linear scale. Circumstances and match-ups matter a lot more than raw power.

I acctually thaught initialy that One Sin and Withe Night and Apo Bird will combine and fiuse into some sort of super abno. Hell lets throw in Blue Star and Price of silence into that mixture.
