Even ignoring the chance of running into enemies on-map, I think starting off with the big ping is the way to go. Taking the optimized route and avoiding any pings until the last possible moment might minimize the risk of ping detection, but the longer we take to find Exe the less time we have to escape and the more chances there are for something else to go wrong. Even beyond that - Oreo learning that the real world is messy and refuses to fit into your algorithmically optimized 42-moves-to-checkmate is a theme right? Just because she wants to call this topographic map a chessboard doesn't mean we should trust her on that.Man, the meta-discussion is really making me consider. Maybe it's a better idea to do a ping rush instead of a methodical search pattern to minimize the % chance of running into hostiles since the map is 'very brutal'?
I thought we had a 2 somewhere. Also E-war is without a dash, making the rest of the stats look negative.
Admin, he's cheating!
[X] Plan I'm not cheating, he is cheating!
-[X] Go southeast then east (road)
That's the thing, we don't know how many helicopter assets they have. Hence me erring on the side of caution. Also it must be pointed out that the G & K dolls that we have fought actually gave our troops a tough fight whenever they clashed. It was us having both numerical superiority as well as qualitative advantage in the form of Ringleaders that allowed us to roll over them. And that the ones we rolled over were the mop up crew not the elites of the base. I'd rather not take casualties if we can avoid it, especially since we are close to achieving our operational objectives. The G&K choppers are no gunships, just troops carriers. How many do they have? What is their capacity? Depending on the answers we may not have to worry about being detected, a single helo worth of infantry won't be a threat to our full-sized MRAP convoy.
I agree. Especially considering that Hunter thinks helicopters are trouble. They are, it's just I'm not sure how it's going to work in this case specifically. That's the thing, we don't know how many helicopter assets they have. Hence me erring on the side of caution. My guess is that they would use their fairies to recon and bomb Ouro's troops. Then while we are distracted, send in helicopters to drop dolls in positions that would allow them to encircle us. They don't even have to completely stop us. Even a delay is enough. And the regular dolls have shown to possess the tools to at least disable our trucks. Once, our troops are sufficently bogged down the elite squads will be deployed to target Ouroboros and Hunter. Considering that there are two Ringleaders I would not be surprised if G & K deploy more elite squads to take us out.I agree. Especially considering that Hunter thinks helicopters are trouble. Yeah, that one is perhaps the worst that could happen right now. Hence, why I am all for the slow and steady approach. The only bad thing I can come up with is they figure Ex's location by the return ping and get to her, not to us, faster than we do.

Completely forgot they had those. Yeah, let's not get detected. My guess is that they would use their fairies to recon and bomb Ouro's troops.

-[X] Go southeast then east (road)
[X] Plan Clear bot left
-[X] Initial direction
--[X] Specify a square on the map to make your way towards (Tile C3, 2 right and 2 down from current position)
-[X] Once there, send out a strong ping to check the 5x5 area
[X] Plan Knight
-[X] Go east
-[X] Transponder Ping
--[X] 2 tiles in every direction (2d6+1)
[X] Plan: Chart Out/Ping
-[X] Follow the search plan as on this map I have drawn out here. If there are obvious road connections found during the search which can slightly improve turncount, do that, but otherwise don't deviate from the charting unless something truly interesting comes up.
Ok, although it looks to me like both plans do the same thing. It's just that one captures the whole left side and the other only a part of it, which considering the fact that the corpse we're highly likely to find somewhere in the middle of the map means that it's not essential.
You just find Ex's body. The ping a radio broadcast looking for a response from a transponder, not LIDAR or anything like that. So it doesn't reveal terrain. That's not what I'm interested in. With this ping, do we just find the corpse or do we kind of open the fog of war?
