Reminder that Jinx bit Caitlyn when they first met.
She did not electrocute her though. Ultimately, I don't think treatment matters too much in terms of Lux's reaction, but our Heroines are short on time. Tying and untying people isn't a quick process and Seraphine may not be able to stick around for the untying. We need to wrap this up quick and tying her up plain isn't the way to do it. Last thing we want is to get found by her guards with her in that state.

What are the odds we can keep her zapped unconscious and Weekend at Bernie's our way through the diplomatic meetings?

[X][Treatment] Take Her Sword, But Don't Tie Her Up

Okay so we want things to go fast here. Besides the risk of Lux's guards showing up we want Seraphine to be part of the questioning. Lux doesn't know that Seraphine has super empathy yet. There's only 15 minutes before the start of the show.

Secondly we don't need rope to secure Lux. It is a closed room with only one exit and no windows.

Okay so this is sheer pragmatism.

Threats won't work. Diplomatic immunity, guards who will come looking. Until the moment that Jinx realizes that Lux is also a mage and thus her questions earlier were for herself Jinx has nothing to threaten with.

Interrogation - doesn't really bring anything useful up.

Options for why Lux followed:
- Smelled magic from the start
- Overheard Caitlyn and got curious
- Overheard Caitlyn and was going for possible to leverage for negotiations/diplomatic envoy reasons

There's just not much for Jinx to be asking. The problem isn't why Lux is present it's getting her to stay quiet. And again Seraphine is present and this feels to be the option that would work best with her magic.

Really I do think the best chance for this to go well is to facilitate Seraphine.

If Seraphine figures out this is two mages she'll pick up Lux's emotional state which is probably more fear of being caught/there being someone else like her.

As such I advocate for options that get Lux into a position where she'd think her best play is revealing her own secret as opposed to threatening/fighting her was out.

Take sword and block the door to prevent running away. But we don't want to scare her to the point she's going threat/deny. Lux is a mage from Demarcia after all.

A mage and someone willing to protect and obviously has been hiding that information is kinda a gold standard for her to spill her own secret. But it wouldn't be an easy situation.

Edit:
[X][Talking] Interrogation, We Need Answers

I've been convinced this combos best with Seraphine

On the other hand, failing to show that we're dead fucking serious about keeping the secret could also be a failure mode there. Depends on Lux's mindset.

Yes but threatening has no cards. And Lux and Jinx both know it. The only threat that'd actually work is Lux being a mage for mutual destruction.

Lux can destroy Seraphine with a word because of the fact that mages can presumably be officially detected. Proving that Jinx knew is harder.

But the only way to stop Lux from talking without her agreeing is to kill her. And Jinx can't do that and they both know it.

I'd say this version of Jinx is capable of murder to protect Seraphine if there's no other way. Jinx has a lot of "I can't lose anyone else I care about" trauma that could push her to extremes to protect her loved ones.

Seraphine, on the other hand, would probably hard veto it. She'd prefer exile to Jinx killing someone just to keep her secret.

"Oh!" Caitlyn eyes lit up in drunken comprehension, and as soon as she started grinning I braced for an incoming horror. "Goooot it! You two have fun with your 'private talk' then!"
Drunk Caitlyn is best Caitlyn.
"I'm gonna kill her," I grumbled as I fled the scene with Seraphine.

"I'll help you hide the body," Seraphine murmured back. She was smiling, so I was almost completely certain she was kidding. Then again, it was always the nice ones you wouldn't suspect who wound up having a secret brutal streak.
Aww they're best friend.
"Anytime." I grinned and clapped her shoulder. "You know what they say, a good friend will help you move a couch, and a great friend will help you move a body. Throwing bombs around in the middle of a talent show feels like it's a step past that. Which means I qualify as the best friend of all time, right?"
Yes.

My reasoning for taking the sword, she's spying on on Jinx and Seraphine on their private moments.
She's been nice so far and the child of diplomat, trying be a bit nice wouldn't hurt. But we also must show our displeasure, and I think this is nice middleground.
On top of everything else, it's look like she use magic too. So far Demacia didn't come as technological advance nation, it's fair assumptions Jinx think she use magic.

Taking her sword seems needlessly hostile. We have gun and can just stun her.

And yeah. Lux was being all sneaky and invisible and trying to spy on us like a pervert. Which, rude, but not as dangerous as we'd feared.

This seems like the least worse options.

On further reflection, I'm leaning more towards the middle-of-the-road options on both fronts.

I still think Jinx would want to tie her up more properly, but we just don't have time for that right now. Nor do we have time to tease the answers out of Lux nicely or for Jinx to put it together herself, nor do we have time to threaten it out of her.

I may not want to go full aggro on this personally, but leaving aside OOC knowledge, as far as Jinx knows, a pro-mageseeker Demacian official just found out Seraphine's a mage, and there's a lot less reason to think we can just play that off again like we did with Cassandra. But ultimately the main factor is that time isn't on our side, so let's cut to the chase as much as possible, and sort out the implications after the concert's over.

No it's not. We're removing a weapon from a Demacian who just found a mage. Jinx preventing Lux from trying to do a stupid by attacking Seraphine is kinda the base line here.

Justifiable homicide (okay the law wouldn't agree) would be on the table right now if Seraphine was down for it.

The only reason I'm not advocating trussing Lux up like a hog is the Bodyguards.

And speed is extremely useful because Seraphine is basically gold in an interrogation with her emotional sensing.

Addendum:

"That'sh only caushe you haven't made a move!" Caitlyn started poking me again. "You better hurry, she'sh cute and shomeone elshe'sh gonna do it schooner or later if you don't. I

... Oh Caitlyn
.

I think she's seeing parallels between her not grasping she had a major still present crush on Vi until it was too late.

As she said, she sees Jinx as her younger sister (and also Vi's so not getting away from that reminder) being extremely good friends with Seraphine. Whether or not anything is there - yeah I can see why soused Caitlyn would jump to that conclusion
