It Belongs to a Museum

[X] Critters

[X] Skeletons

In this Quests I've mostly been fine with whatever up till now. But for this vote I feel it important for characterization and for our relationship with Aelsabrim if our first request is along the lines of what we said it would be. Once we've established a healthy bond we can expand to any other kinds of additional requests.

[x] Skeletons
[x] Relics
Beasts and critters are cool but keeping live stuff alive is a hassle we're not ready for yet. Especially while we're dealing with the Dread Abyssal reconstruction I don't want to start a zoo simultaneously. A garden is more manageable but also less cool. Gems are boring. Skeletons and relics make good, interesting exhibits and are relatively low overhead while we build institutional capacity.

Might just be me tbh, expecting more of a "dusty old priest" vibe.

Remember that, not only has he been travelling Araby and interacting with the living populace for most of his life, rather than confining himself to one dead city like most Liche Priests, he's also well-practiced at downplaying his age to avoid suspicion. Learning and habitually using colloquialisms and informal language in a way that seems natural is a significant part of that, and he's fluent in a wide variety of both living and dead languages to draw them from.

And if you take issue with the specific English colloquialism used to represent whatever in-universe one he used, then by that logic none of the other speech in this update should have been in English either. 'Okay/OK' is almost 200 years old IRL, and the concept it communicates is almost as old as language; our great-great-grandparents would have been using it as casually as anyone today does, depending on where they lived.
Yeah this makes sense, both parts. Intresting about the history of "okay" as well

Edit: Forgot to vote!
[X] Skeletons

We're making a spooky scary museum, and it needs skeletons!

[X] Relics

For things that are likely to actually win, I vote Relics, but I want my Introductions vote on record for posterity.

We should try to learn more of relics before trying to collect the ones elves would be willung to send to a potentially hostile neighbour.

One plus side of Skeletons is that if the shipments keep coming we can probably have a Necromancer turn them into forces for an Acquisitions team.
Hmm... Okay, weird thought: unliving bone woven into a wooden hull to make a 'swimming' boat (or, from the other perspective, a half-wooden fish) that blends the traditions of Nehekhara and the Vampire Coast. Don't have nearly enough knowledge of carpentry to know whether that would be possible! (Mind, Necrofex Colossi imply that the range of motion can be achieved in the Warhammer world, at least...)

I wonder how much he actually knows about waystones? This is making me want to look into the Nehekhara network in DL even more.

The would probably require a large sea creature as a base. Remember that we aren't a Necrotech, we're a Liche Priest. There is only so much that we can do.

We'd probably need to contract a Necromancer to get something like that working.

No Taxidermy, just Skeletons? Mou. Guess I'll go with my initial gut for our first exhibit. Maybe we can work up to stuffed animals. Live animals should probably be a no-no, we aren't a zoo.

- Researcher options will include an animal wrangler to take care of keeping live critter exhibits, some sort of necromancer for animating dead ones, and some sort of zoologist or anatomist for dissecting creatures to improve your knowledge of them. In the absence of any of these, live creatures will be killed and preserved by Pahtsekhen to be put on display.

We just MUST get those carnivorous plants in the distant future. So I'm approval voting it since it's unlikely to win.
