It Belongs to a Museum

That was touching.
Happy we could be of help in ending the poor couples time of separation.

As for acquisitions.
[X] Skeletons
Capturing beasts alive is a process with a failure rate. You could receive that failure rate. There's less things you can do with a skeleton, but it is easier to fit them in crates and they're a lot less likely to try to bite you.

[X] Relics
Fuming Serpent Island was once home to a Lizardman temple-city until it was partially buried in volcanic eruptions, then the Elven colony that was built atop those ruins was itself buried in another volcanic eruption. The current Elven presence is dedicated to mining the stone that had been lava for jewels, metals, and treasures from the two lost cities, and the Lizardmen seem to allow it as long as anything of Lizardman origin is turned over to them. Not everyone obeys, and the Citadel has accumulated a fair amount of artefacts that miners attempted to smuggle out. Nobody will notice if some of it goes missing, and considering your patron, nobody will suspect the Citadel as the origin of any Lizardman loot you put on display.

[X] Plants
Princess Aelsabrim roped in a local ally of hers, the Mage Telsomar Greendale, to make sure you didn't mishandle her husband's spirit. Her claimed area of expertise is carnivorous plants, and she seems to be quite competent. You could arrange for seeds and samples from this collection if you foresee a botanical wing to your museum.

These seem most interesting.

Relics are very obvious thing to get, naturally, but carnivorous plants are fun, and who does not like a giant skeleton?

Aww, that was sweet. I didn't vote for grief, but Boney's writing has me pretty satisfied with how it turned out.

I believe that the princess' specialty is acquiring animals for us, and frankly, I like showing off our preservation techniques. I don't really want live animals, but excellently preserved and stuffed animals seem good for starting out our museum and showing the glory of Harkon against dangerous beasts.

Just a nitpick, this dosn't seem like the of language Pahtsekhen would use? Might just be me.
Remember that, not only has he been travelling Araby and interacting with the living populace for most of his life, rather than confining himself to one dead city like most Liche Priests, he's also well-practiced at downplaying his age to avoid suspicion. Learning and habitually using colloquialisms and informal language in a way that seems natural is a significant part of that, and he's fluent in a wide variety of both living and dead languages to draw them from.

And if you take issue with the specific English colloquialism used to represent whatever in-universe one he used, then by that logic none of the other speech in this update should have been in English either. 'Okay/OK' is almost 200 years old IRL, and the concept it communicates is almost as old as language; our great-great-grandparents would have been using it as casually as anyone today does, depending on where they lived.

Beasts and Skeletons will always be there. Relics on the other hand, are a finite resource and very precious.

I wonder what Telsomar is thinking right now, unlike all the other elves she has the skill to realize how complex what we just did is and well... she is a mage far from Ulthuan. Depending on how ambitious she is we might end up with two students instead of one. In a way that would even be better since they would be a check on each other from diving heedlessly into the ocean of necromancy. Uncle Pahtsekhen sure as hell isn't going to be that check.

[X] Other-Asur Historical Literature.
We are Museum, it would be worth it to have some books that could give us insight into history from other cultures perspective and for High Elf princess, her own people literature would be low hanging fruit.
[X] Relics.
If we attract Lizardfolk, that just means more shinies from looting their corpses and extra security from their corpses.

She'll need careful handling, in my opinion. It's entirely possible she'll end up jealous of Pahtsekhen's power and influence, and afraid she'll end up displaced from her position in court in favor of Uncle Lich.

Are living specimen actually more interesting than skeletons to our audience? The beasts are local-ish and I myself would be way more curious about, for example, a well-annotated badger skeleton than a live badger.
Though that might just my degree in biology talking lol

Personally the reason why I want to go with Skeletons is simply because currently don't have much in the way of infrastructure. if we get live beasts then we will need to construct pens, make sure food is shipped in, get someone to worry about their health and the like.

It is a lot of effort during this early stage of our museum.

Meanwhile the Skeletons are easy to transport, store and we can probably get a necromancer to animate them for some exhibits.
