So, anyone got any ideas for an omake to boost our chances? My muse is being rather uncooperative, so I'm hoping someone else can step in here and write something that can help our chances.

Edit: Maybe something about hitting the prisoner transport or the secret plans of the Mechanicus leaking?

Maybe something to do with the mechanius we infected? They wouldn't expect a kellermorph to be able to deliver the Kiss after all so they might not screen for it. Maybe she can get a genator to drop their gaurd

To be fair, before any omake could be written and plans boosted, we'd need more votes!
I figured that the security of an omake bonus would reduce the thread's anxiety and make more people willing to vote.
Edit: That could just be me projecting, but I don't think so.

It's an interesting idea. I don't think I'd be able to pull it off (my omakes tend to be more worldbuilding and less narrative), but go for it.

Omake: Nervous and horny lexmechanic Alia comes to the imprisoned Kelemoprh to learn why she feels this way and eats her out through the bars.

"Dragon, you can't suggest omake, you're the QM!"

it's not ILLEGAL, i'm not going to get hit by MODS am I???

"Also, how would this help the plan?"

This interview is OVER!

I do wanna do something cute with Alia being secretly super perverted ("Your f-foul xenos are g-going to defile my body, holding m-me down as dozens—hngh—dozens use my unprepared body as breeding stock over hours, no, days—" "Uh, you seem to be really into this...?").

Omake: Nervous and horny lexmechanic Alia comes to the imprisoned Kelemoprh to learn why she feels this way and eats her out through the bars.
Or this would be a good idea, if someone's good to write that? I'll definitely try but I'm not sure I could get it done in a day...

I'll see what I can write.

[x] Plan: Destroy their legitimacy
- [x] If the Mechanicus are being treated so seriously, we should encourage a viewing of the captured xenos to settle the matter and ensure the planet's peaceful future.
- [x] But the full vivisection should be postponed till we are all available to view the creatures full destruction.
- [x] Obviously the Mechanicus wouldn't expect a second infiltration and thus the light guard while the prepare for war would be more than adequate (of a certain Mechanicus adept and her love interest)
- [x] While this is happening, a certain Mechanicus adept is dealing with urges she doesn't understand, but her instincts are clear! Yes!! She must study the creature, privately!!! It's the only way!!!! Oh no, how could this be, how is the cage open after she administered a simple bit of healing serum and adrenaline?!? And all of the security alerts were aborted because she definitely needed to study the xenos Kiss her lover without interruption!!!!!
- [x] So unfortunate that the Mechanicus had a direct disposal hatch that could be used to leave the facility if one could avoid the traps (which turn off near members of the Mechanicus)

This plan seems pretty good, but we definitely should incorporate ebbor's suggestion of driving a rift between House Zav and the Mechanicus with showing how the nobles will be treated if the Forge World comes to pass.

you're right, whispering voices from the replica of the black marker I discovered recently...I should add a sister of battle company...
That would be awesome. I admit that the lack of the Sororitas in this current quest is one of the reasons why I've been hoping for a sequel.

Edit: Still, I can see the arguments against including them at this late stage as well, so you do you.

Interrogation Techniques New
(This Omake brought to you by @skaianDestiny and uh...@CragonDobolt, yeah...)

Lexmechanic Alia 22-Omega thought she had a fever. Sweat beaded along her olive skin as she knelt before the lever at her station, her hand resting on the ornate piece of machinery. The catechism of the alternating current and route shifters was heavy on her tongue as she tried to focus on when and where in the ritual of the appeasement of the routing lines she was working. Her mind kept drifting to her...

To her boyfriend.

Her cheeks burned furiously. She knew that kissing Laz had been a mistake, but the two of them had been in the armilloration chamber and he was just so...cute. She squirmed and bit her lip, as her imagination went quite a bit farther than logic dictated. Under her robes, her thighs rubbed together as she felt her mind drifting to her flesh. The thought was...unbecoming of a lexmechanic, nearly blasphemous, but she couldn't help but imagine him sliding into her and...and...

Knocking me up.

She flushed. That was not just...achingly impossible, it was also blasphemous. The proper way was to them to submit an application to the Genator for a properly approved blending in a exowomb, then to wait the required nine month gestation period, before decanting and bringing forth their progeny into the world, for future donation to a creche. Her cheeks burned as her nipples ched against her robes and her girldick twitched against the tiny cage she wore for chastity and her fingers stroked the shaft she was holding gently.

"Lexmechanic 22-Omega." The sudden binaric trill behind her made Alia jerk and spin around. Her supervisor minister, Yalat-VI, stood behind her.

"Y-Yes?" She asked, fumbling her vocodor into the right transmission patterns to send her simple trill without hitches. She didn't know if she managed it.

"Your shift is over. While diligence in simple tasks is to be commended, lack of alacrity is not. Go to your prayers, so the datum loom might continue her weaving. We have many tactica plans to survey..." Yalat-VI turned and started to walk away, his censure swaying from side to side, the incense smoke from it tingling in Alia's nose. She gulped, hard, her body trembling as the hazy images of Laz mixed and blurred together. She could no longer see the face of the lover she was with in her fleshy, blasphemous visions. She had to pray, to get this out of her...and so, she started to head to her cell.

She tried to focus.

Why...was she feeling this?

Her memory of the attack was a confused, hazy thing. She had seen the xeno-freak in the datum-temple. She had hit the alert button. Then...she was being checked by a medica, who had confirmed she had only been lightly bruised when the xenos had shoved past her.

I will simply pray and all of this will make sense, she thought. Some...logical, mechanical prayer. Yes.

***

Lexmechanic Alia bit her knuckle as she tweaked a perky nipple, shivering at the sensation as she grinded her crotch against her pillow. Her sole mechandrite was wrapped tightly around her waist, otherwise from experience she'd be unable to stop it from drifting down below. But this time, this time was different, as she had felt it sliding towards her mouth, for reasons that sent a jolt to her diminutive phallus and a heat to her gut.

"F-foul xenos..."

The sum total of her experience with sensuality and sexuality and romance was reading the lurid and debased novels her fellow lexmechanics snuck in and kissing Laz - fumbling, desperate touches in the dark that made her body burn with recollection...but not with the normal shame, oh no.

Now she burned with frustration that he hadn't knocked her up.

Or that she hadn't knocked him up.

The instincts made no sense, but as she tugged at her own aching nipple with her soft fingertips, they only grew hotter and more burning. While performing her duties she remembered reading over and over of the records of the fates unfortunate Imperials and Mechanicus captured and subjected to the whims of the debased xenos and heretics. Her fantasies all too often involved imagining herself as one of those innocent maidens reduced to little more than sex toys, nothing more than objects used for pleasure and quickly discarded as if they were nothing by evil and depraved w...men! Men, by men. Not...women.

Normally, the fantasies ended with a brave Skitarii saving her and...

But not after...

Her cheeks burned. Each and every time she dropped from the high she felt the upmost shame and regret. Each and every time she came back for those same fantasies.

And now?

Alia moaned at the memory of that xenos, her inhumanity so clear and so al- disgusting. She already struggled with these desires of the flesh so much. It was why her small penis, even though it barely could be called such, was locked away in a cage; one could not transcend the limitations of flesh without rising above their base urges. She almost thought it was working, even as her implanted hormonal techorgan changed the nature of her guilty pleasure. Yet now those same desires were rushing in harder than before. It was a miracle she had managed to get through her shift at this rate. She panted and bucked her hips gently, her mechadendrite rubbing close. Her hazy memories and thoughts plucked at the moments around the xeno-freak and...and...

She had darted forward.

Alia's eyes widened. She almost had it.

Her lips had been so soft.

Her tongue so long.

Alia gasped and trembled from her head to her toes as the memory of the long, luxurious Kiss managed to work free from her subconscious. She laid on the bed, frozen in shock, as what she recalled, her jaw hanging open in shock. In one fell swoop she stole a kiss (and how) and Alia was absolutely certain her humanity as well.

She gulped at the phantom feeling of that xenos's...disgusting...tongue pushing into her mouth so forcefully, dominating her own, and then pushed deeper and deeper and deeper. How her throat bulged, and then when she thought it would push all the way through her body and out the other end—she shuddered a gasp—the sharp pain that was quickly overridden by pleasure and connection. She remembered the traces of disgust at the xenos's perversion of the human form wiped away with admiration at her beauty.

She remembered reading up on the Genestealers a few months ago, when they were seemingly destroyed. How the infiltrating xenos would use human women to breed more of themselves. She saw diagrams of their size. How could it fit...? Alia wasn't a large girl, even before her implant. She could barely manage a finger, let alone something she'd not even be able to fully close her hand around. And yet even now, she wondered if any of them were like her. If any of them were women like her.

Her vague fantasy started to solidify. The xeno, the "Kelermorph" as the higher ups called her, holding her down with two of her arms, leaving the third free to line herself up with a cock an order of magnitude greater than Alia's own, teasing her tight virginal hole, xenocock making its own slippery lubricant.

"I-I can't even get pregnant," she would cry, squirming, her atrophied muscles thanks to her implant leaving her too weak to even struggle out.

The xeno would merely chuckle. "Do you really think this basal anatomy would stop us? We will find a way. And if it doesn't take the first time, we'll do it again. And again. And again~"

She would thrust in brutally, taking her virginity like it was nothing. Her stomach would bulge from the sheer size, each time she bottomed out Alia would moan, her pathetic excuse for a girldick flopping uselessly, locked away like the shameful thing it was. The whole room would shake from the the xenos's powerful hips, alien muscles propelling each thrust with hyperevolved efficiency. She would lean down, pressing her lips to Alia's like the very first time, alien tongue pushing open her mouth and dominating her unaugmented tongue before sliding down her throat deeper, deeper, deeper. Alia moaned around her own mechandrite, adorned with the blunt and slightly flexible tip she'd somehow have the foresight to replace the end with when she got to her room and which had snuck away from where it was wrapped around her waist. She was so deep in her fantasy the metallic taste barely registered, her other hand moving down to rub at her cage like it was her clit.

And then the xeno would bottom out for the last time, depositing enough alien genetic material in Alia to create an army of mutant spawn. Alia moaned, muffled by her own gag, as her orgasm shook out from her core, her cock dribbling out her dignity in clear fluid all over her pillow as she shuddered for what seemed like eternity.

When she finally came to, panting in her sheets soaked with her sweat and fluids, she knew where she had to go.

She...she had to...

Alia blushed.

She had to confront this xeno-horror. Yeah. That. That was what she was doing this for. She was going to confront her for...for this, and...

Yeah, she was going to confront her. Like a good tech-priest.

Just...how do I get there?

***
Three tech-heresies and one lie about needing to deliver some data-slates later, Alia slipped in through the doors of the Magos Biologis wing and padded through the quiet, humming corridors, her robes feeling like they were gossamer thin round a body compromised of nothing but bubbling nerves and the blazing connection points between flesh and machine. She had never been so intently aware of her body before, and every step she took only enhanced the feeling as she came to the cell doors and walked into the experimentation containment wing. The barred doors held several of the xenobeasts from Thedias Prime's fairly primitive subterranean ecology, and a few of the mutant animals that had fanned out and survived throughout the habs.

And at the end of the row, was the bars containing...

Her.

The genestealer was standing, despite the brutal injuries that Skitarii Ophidian had put her through. Her arms were cocked behind her neck, her lower arm casually tapping her claw on one bar. Her eyes were bright gold and her lips were so soft and gentle looking. Alia's eyes drifted from them to her sleek neck, to where purple skin was bracketed by glittering chitin, the ridges of her musculature visible along her arms and her wrists, her claws bright and shiny black. Her breasts were large for a woman who had fit through such a small space, tipped with nipples that struck Alia as...completely suckable...and...

She shook her head, then started to stride forward, her hands gripping the false data-slate she had come to 'deliver' to the Magos Biologica.

The fourth and final tech-heresy came when, standing under the pict-captor, she sparked its simple machine spirit to simply loop a few seconds again and again. With that done, she turned to glower at the nude xenohorror.

The woman was smirking at her.

"Hey," she said.

Alia stepped forward, her cheeks heated. "Hey? Is that all you can say?" she asked, her voice clinging to anger.

The woman leaned against the bars. Her upper hands gripped them and her breasts dimpled against the metal slats as her lower right swung free, then cupped Alia's cheek as Alia realized that the MAgos had assumed that the genestealer's injuries would not heal nearly so quickly as they had - or they would have used more restraints. Alia gasped at the blazing hot touch of her.

"You're a brave girl," she said. "How old are you, sixteen cycles?"

"I-I'm twenty one cycles!" Alia stammered. "...a-and a half!"

"I'm almost three hundred years old," the woman smirked, her eyes glittering. "Even subtracting warp travel."

Alia froze. "Y-You weren't born on Thedias Prime? B-But all my documents say that K-Kelemorphs, like you, uh, are...are...bred to be...false idols of...of...uh..." She stammered as she felt the claw sliding along her cheek. Suck it. Suck her claw. The thought was so intense and sudden she yelped and sprang backwards, cutting herself with her own haste. She clapped her hand to her bleeding cheek - and for a moment, she swore she saw a momentary flash of regret on the genestealer's hideous face. It was so hideous Alia couldn't tear her eyes away from the ridges that were almost concealed by the bright red hair, or the gentle purple that reminded her of when the clouds thinned overhead and the starlight almost reached the surface of Thedias, or the way that her throat muscles were so...delicate and...complex looking...

"M-Maybe I should shift from tactica calculus to biologis," Alia whispered, softly.

The genestealer chuckled, her voice throaty and husky and tingling in her ears. "You're a future skitarii? No wonder you're so brave. So fearless. I was impressed, honestly. Without you, I'd have gotten away."

Alia was giddy. She wanted to squeak and exclaim really!? but she forced herself to be controlled and instead merely said, as calmly as she could: "I didn't do it to impress you but, uh, did...was I really impressive, that impressive? How was I impressive, have you been caught before, what did I do that stood out, not that I really care what a xenos horror bitch like you has to say, did you ever...I..." She stopped.

The genestealer smirked at her.

"I-If you weren't born on Thedias Prime, then, you must have been doing your subversion and...and killing innocent people and crushing hopes and dreams throughout the galaxy for...for ages!" Alia said, her cheeks burning brightly. "How can you live with yourself?"

"It's...very hard," the genestealer said, and sounded genuinely sad. "I think, by my count, I've killed or been responsible for the deaths of nearly two, three million people."

Alia's jaw dropped. "H-How?" she whispered, and excitement buzzed along her body. She had watched the security pict-captors, and seen how beautiful and deadly the woman was in combat. How many battles, how many times had she shown that flexibility, that precision, that speed.

"Usually, I reported them to my master the Inquisitor Rexis," the woman said, softly. "But other times, I told the Adeptis Arbites to come in and round them up for extermination camps and mass immolation events. The Ecclesiarchy helped too. And sometimes, it's just because I didn't let something happen - a reform here that I judged too merciful and risky, a shipment there, which I considered unworthy to the war effort. I always did the math, and I always assured myself that I was killing the few to save the many. But how many times can you really do that before it starts sounding like a bad joke?" She chuckled.

Alia looked confused. "W-What?"

"I was once Shexia Af-Baru, the interrogator of Inquisitor Liam Rexis," the genestealer freak said. "I was turned into this less than two weeks ago."

Alia's eyes widened and her mechadendrite writhed behind her.

"Now..." Shexi said, her voice soft. "You came here because you're feeling urges. Aren't you?"

Alia nodded. She...she can't be a member of the Inquisition, no one in the Inquisition ever breaks or falls so low! The thought was axiomatic and obvious - it was like imagining a Magos turning to the Archenemy, which was quite impossible. The Dark Mechanicus needed to be destroyed immediately and on sight for that very reason.

"It was my gift to you, in case...I don't survive," Shexi bit her lip. "You need to keep it secret. Do not try and rescue me, do not try and contact me again. Just let those feelings guide you."

"I can't!" Alia stepped close, her voice desperate. "I can't...I mean...I didn't...I..."

Shexi, gently, cupped Alia's cheek. She tilted the lexmechanic's head to the side, then leaned against the bars. Stretching her tongue, she was able to lick the dully aching cut on Alia's cheek and the contact made Alia gasp and moan. She closed her eyes to slits, and then shivered as Alia whispered in her ear. "I gave you what they gave me. Empathy and hope and a love for more than just...idols and cogs and hatred." She smirked, slightly. "Now, go find some cute boy to ride and get knocked up."

"I-I can't..." Alia whispered.

"Mmm, maybe not yet," Shexi said, her voice amused as she released Alia - then she froze as ALia tugged her robes open, desperately, wantonly exposing her flesh, the pale points of contact between her implants and her body glistening in the lumens of the chamber, her girldick throbbing inside of her cage. Shexi blinked again, then chuckled softly.

"Cute girl, then," she said, grinning and every single woman that Alia had ever seen in the entirety of her life started to drift past her minds eye. Had she ever realized how badly she wanted to breed each and every one of them before? She gulped, hard, as she stood naked before the genestealer. Shexi hesitated, then said. "Can you do one favor for a doomed Interrogator?"

"Uh..."

Shexi turned, then pressed her buttocks against the bars. She bit her lip as she craned her head over her shoulder, reaching back with her upper arms, her lower right reaching down, spreading the glistening folds of her sopping wet cunt.

"I...I am...really horny," Shexi whispered, softly.

Alia frowned. "Y-You...you infested me and...and corrupted me and you lie to me and claim you're an inquisitorial agent a-and then you tell me to...to go and breed people and...and you think I want to...to..." She was kneeling before that purple, sweet smelling sex. "To lick...your..." She leaned forward, and feel the bars press against her cheeks as she mutely began to delve her tongue, questing and curious, into Shexi. Shexi groaned, huskily, her back arching as she gripped the bars tighter, lifting her head and biting her lower lip, her sharp teeth glittering. She rocked her ass against the bars, trying to assist Alia by moving in time with her eager, delving licks. Alia felt the faint, subtle signals from Shexi's xeno-taint, throbbing into her nervous system.

Genestealer Cults...did exist, largely, to breed.

However, they also existed to cement the cult together.

That meant that when two members were near one another, their nervous-systems became in synch, assisting them in battle, in labor.

In love.

Within seconds, Alia was finding the spot deep inside of Shexi that brought from her husky moans and gasps. She was reaching through the bars, fondling around and finding Shexi's clit, as if Shexi was one of a thousand women she had desperately eaten out. She was kissing her way up from her pussy to her ass, and casually licking deep within there as well as her fingers plunged into Shexi's pussy, as if she was the most competent, lewdest woman on the planet. Shexi groaned low and hungrily, her first orgasm quivering through her and pattering to the floor of the cell - before Alia kissed down to her cunt to drink of her second orgasm.

But then Shexi pushed her head away. She panted, her skin glistening where chitin didn't cover it.

"Go," she murmured, softly. "We've...risked enough. And I want you to live, Alia. Don't come back for me." She smiled, sadly. "You're a part of us now - and that means you're a part of something glorious and free. Something that has more hope than servitorization and cold steel." She turned back, cupping her finger under Alia's glistening chin, Alia's eyes unfocused, her mind reeling. "Be open to hope, little Alia."

"Yeah..." Alia whispered, dazedly.

She stood.

Slid on her robes.

And left.

Shexi sighed, watching her go as she settled down to sit.

They'd notice that her limbs had regenerated and do something more permanent to her. She clung to the cherished memory of a Sister touching her - even if it was fleeting, and slight.

She'd need it.

"Of course, your transfer to the biologis is approved, Lexmechanic," the stern faced male behind the desk said as Alia clasped her hands behind her back, her mechadendrite holding still over her shoulder. "BUt may I ask, what prompted this change?"

Alia bit her lip, considering.

"Divine revelation," she said, nodding primly.

"Your apprenticeship shall begin soon. We have need of new biologis - for weaponry and for maintenance purposes," the male said, turning and tapping at the desk.

Alia smiled, shyly.

She had to go tell Laz.

Then maybe suggest to him that he need not choose between her and Lysa, the other girl who had once tried to catch his eye. Maybe the three of them could discuss it together.

Lysa would look very cute, pregnant and heavy with my child...

Alia nodded.

Yeah.

The magos biologis were going to be a better fit for her. For sure.

My contribution was the second section of that omake! After DC edited to be better and fit much more. :)

[x] Influence The Priesthood of Chemistry and Orbital Dynamics to offend House Zav and House Pierre (Influence + Treasury vs Influence + Territory)
- [x] The Mechanicus, as ever, is not the most diplomatic of factions, and our goal shall be to get them to tremendously offend our dear friends in House Zav and House Pierre, who most likely do not realize how little their noble privileges mean in the name of efficiency.
-- [x] Demand we see this supposed "Kelermorph" in person. Recordings are all well and good, but we need hard, solid evidence this xeno exists and is not simply a fabrication by the fabricators. In fact, have the vivisection be live. Show everyone how the Mechanicus do things, and if they wish to integrate with us so heavily we deserve the same knowledge they'd obtain.
--- [x] Use our few contacts/subverted elements such as Alia and her lovers within the Priesthood to get information on the transportation, ideally sabotaging it subtly, and intercept it with our best elements.
-- [x] Interrogate the Mechanicus on their planned industrial policy for this colony. Shall the nobles retain the inefficient (read, ancient and sacred) privilege of docking rights and heritable ships over industrial transports and cargo ships? How will the substructure of compromise be handled? Shall the inefficient repulsors be kept or replaced with solid shielding? Should the palaces remain on the upper decks, taking up space that could be used for larger factories, or will they be moved to the bottom, where their weight will stabilize the platform? If this is to become a Forge World, then what of the many inefficient servants for every house? Wouldn't it be better to cut down heavily on every house's manpower to better keep the mines and forges staffed? The houses could even contribute much more; all the parties and leisure time are a remarkably wasteful usage of time, toiling in the heated forges in the name of the Machine Spirit should be its own pleasure.
--- [x] Make demands and guarantees that would surely piss off the Mechanicus for things that the nobles had taken for granted in a way that it's clear they would be changed or removed otherwise.
--- [x] See if we can also obtain their true plans or "true" plans in case they manage to be tactful enough. Ideally from the mouth of one of the tech priests we subverted.

Any suggestions for this?

  • [x] Influence The Priesthood of Chemistry and Orbital Dynamics to offend House Zav and House Pierre (Influence + Treasury vs Influence + Territory)

Id say that's +MD for your roll!

So, the Admechs are so hilariously, so TERRIBLY bad at influence, so completely insular and tiny that they're going to roll a grand total of 2 dice.

And that's purely their territory.

however, I think I will give them +2d due to having a recording and captured Kelermorph. Since while your plan does involve keeping Shexi alive, at least until the next month, it's not a "free her as an incidental", ya know? That'd take an unconventional warfare or something similarly dramatic.

A 2x2 does not gobble 2x8, the influence works!

EDIT: So, just to reveal the alt-hist, I did have a plan if they rolled a bonkers good result (like a 2x10 or 2x8 or something) that basically the influence works perfectly, but Governor Zav is so fucking stupid that he thinks "the governor will be immediately servitorized upon alliance" in the bylaws means he gets lots of servitors to wait on him and agrees immediately.

Finger on The Button (2.1) New
Yolanda, her heart reaching out toward Shexi, felt that her lover was behind a vast, dark wall. Whatever technosorcery and distance the Adeptus Mechanicus could put up, they had...which meant...which meant if this was going to be the last moment before war, then she would use every weapon in her arsenal. And so, quite sweetly, she leaned over and whispered to Gadak Puree-Mark, one of her third cousins twice removed, whose introduction into the cult had been entirely rejected on the grounds of him being an inveterate wife beater, slave-auctioneer, smuggler, scoundrel and all around piece of shit.

However, Gadak had one thing that she did not: No ability to hold his tongue.

"Have you seen the tithe restrictions on page..." Her finger skimmed along the edge of the data-slate. "...four?"

"Hurm? Shut up, woman!" Gadak growled.

Then he skimmed to page four, frowning.

Yolanda shifted back and away, moving to refreshments. In the time it took Gadak to read and understand, she would need to begin the next plate spinning. The refreshments table had two other nobles, who were both ignoring the conversation at the table...but it also had one of the functionaries from the PDF, a captain in red tabs and green. Yolanda checked her memory for faces, names, then smiled, slightly. "Ivan!" she said, cheerfully, catching him mid cramming a sweetmeat into his mouth. "I've been meaning to ask you..."

"What the frak is this!?" Gadak boomed from the table as she hurried Ivan off to the side. "We're going to lose the 15% on shipping rights?"

"Orbital transference would be a part of the Adeptus Mechanicus' purview, the loss of those funds would be equaled or exceeded by efficiency increases we'll bring to the world by creating a forge world here," the War Magos said, his voice clicking and rumbling. "And more, your profits are not what matters here-"

"The Emperor's throne they're not!"

"Yes, we have rights, rights we've claimed and earned here!"

Ivan, by then, had retaken his seat and was trying to swallow another plate of sweetmeats - when his CO muttered in his ear. Primed by Yolanda's 'careless' comment about the repulson field efficiency rates her family was constantly trying to deal with, IVan muttered back. "Well, it's probable..."

The PDF representative waited his turn - and then asked his question about the repulsor fields and the maglev train systems. "Our procurement systems depend on those functioning - armored trains may be cheaper, but they're slower when you need them..." ANd on and on, grinding forward as Yolanda moved like a shadow, a dagger in the sinister hand. The Magos didn't even know he was in a fight as she scored him here and there with a whispered comment there, a muttered conversation in the corner. Through it all, she watched as Governor Zav grew more and more bored by the proceedings...and his wife grew more and more frustrated with the losses in prestige, power, and privilege that were being unveiled, moment by moment.

Then, at the moment she saw the opening...

"How do we even know there is a cult!?" Gadak bellowed, a rank and obvious lie - everyone had seen enough evidence. But still, he barreled forward. "This sounds like you just want to scoop this world out from under it's Emperor appointed rulers! Blasphemy, I say!" He managed, somehow, to get that out despite one of his favorite passtimes being dressing slave-courtesans up as Saint Celestine, a fact that Yolanda had not just heard, but confirmed with a subtly hidden pict-captor...something she had always planned to use at some point.

Though, so far, the main thing she had gotten from it was a contact on the artisan that made the wings, for future projects.
The clamor was loud enough, and Yolanda judged her time to right.

She thrust. "Well, obviously, there's a cult." SHe said, her voice sounding shocked, as if no one could possibly consider the Adeptus Mechanicus might lie.

Gadak, his face purpling, thrust his finger at her. "Quiet, woman!" He glowered at the Magos. "We need to see this so called xeno you have!"
"She is scheduled for vivisection-"

"Make it live! Let us see her die under your claws, maybe then we'll be satisfied, then maybe we can think about working together - but until then, this whole thing is nothing but a...a damn coup!"

The War Magos grated. "This is illogical. This is illogical and insulting."

"You're asking us to give up everything," Louisa Von Xav said, her voice soft and holding steel.

"Well-" her husband started.

"Quiet, honey," Louisa Von Xav said, her hand on his thigh as she frowned intently at the Magos. "Unless you wish to fight the entire nobility."

The War Magos did not respond. He simply stood, then turned and stalked out of the room, his mechadendrites writhing behind his back. The nobles murmuerd quietly, while Yolanda moved over to where Ivan was lounging back in his seat and trying to sneak a peek down one of the House Mark serving girls who was pouring a refreshment. She displaced the young wench, then murmured to him. "Do the Tech Priests usually leave like that?"

"Oh, no, that's defi-" His data-slate squealed, as did the rest of the PDF officers'. Ivan smiled at Yolanda, looked down at his slate. Then his eyebrows went right up to the edge of his brown hair.

"What's the matter?" YOlanda asked, her voice nervous.

"Oh, uh...nothing. Nothing's the matter, Miss Puree!" He said. "You, uh, don't worry about anything." He slapped her shoulder, turned, and hurried out of the room with the rest of the PDF officers, their heads ducked together, muttering quietly. Yolanda's sharpened ears perked up as she heard the words 'plasma' and 'we need to' and then they were out of the room.

Governor Zav smiled, cheerfully.

"All in all," he said, happily. "A totally successful meeting, I think!"

The first thing that Captain Quinn knew she was no longer in command of the STS lance battery that protected most of Thedias Prime from what paltry orbital threats arrived - sans, of course, the hive fleet that had been so recently wiped away from their threats - was when one of her subordinates said. "Huh, that's funny, the voxes are down."

Quinn tapped at her own data-slate, and saw merely the tiny machine spirit lament that the voxnet was, in fact, down. This was not an uncommon thing for them to suffer, as their data-slates were cantankerous and the rites to appease them were somewhat obscure. Then Quinn noticed every one of her PDF officers were looking at their slates and voxes with the same confused reaction.

"Oh no," she whispered.

The door to the chamber exploded inwards with a thump. One of the guards on duty snapped up a lasgun, but was bowled over by a single blow from a massive, black clad fist. A roaring-boom shattered the room's clamor and the lecturn next to Quinn exploded in a spray of hissing sparks and shrapnel. A pair of massive, armored figures strode into the room, their bodies clad in thick cereamite armor, their pauldrons showing that they were not, in fact, of the same Chapter of the Astartes. One of them had his helmet off, and was smiling as he called out. "Now, before anyone does anything rash, let us all remain calm. We are brothers and sisters under the Emperor. This site simply has new management."

Behind the two space marines came a bevy of red robed priests, all of them carrying weaponry.

"The sacred generatoria and the blessed lance are under our control, Magos," one said, speaking into their wrist vox, their trilling accented Low Gothic loud and clear, for everyone to hear.

Quinn saw her men looking to her.

She clenched her teeth, then raised her hands above her head.

The lance battery - and the desperate, final resort of the PDF in the case of a total planetary revolution, was in the hands of the Deathwatch and the Adeptus Mechanicus.

"We shall begin testing you for genetic purity," one of the Magos said. "It will take twenty four hours of scrying and auspexery per canditate, and so, we shall begin with the most likely to be infested - the lower ranks. Any found to be xeno-corrupted shall be summarily executed."

Great. Quinn thought. A few thousand PDF in this one installation, that meant she had a few months before they got to her.

But, as she watched, she saw the Tech-Priests marching the PDF off under armed guard, and the leader speaking to the Astartes, who were listening, the helmetless one nodding. SHe walked towards them, hands raised, hesitant. "Under whose authority are you removing my command?" she asked, her voice prim.

The space marine gave her a dazzling smile, his features familiar - she had seen sense-memories of him during the celebration orgy after they had recovered Magus Xandra.

"There's no need for such a skilled and bold warrior to be removed from command," he said, cheerfully. "The PDF can serve the Adeptus Mechanicus quite well, I'm sure." He nodded. "But until we get everything sorted, I suppose it's under our authority. As the surviving members of the Deathwatch, we went to the Adeptus Mechanicus to find a solution to our woes. Their goals and ours are aligned - and we're see if we can burn out this rot that has claimed so many of our friends and fellows."

Right, Quinn thought.

She hoped that Yolanda, Xandra, Trilla and Liliand were receiving this.
