She needs a friend, a therapist, and time away from the capitol. She does not need Ozai's personal ego stroker who got to tell him of the superiority of his pectorals whispering bigoted nonsense in her ear.

Also seriously vote for Shu. The Economy is in a shit situation and the negative impact from unemployment and cost of converting military industry to civilian industry hasn't even hit yet.

[X] Minister Qin had paused for a moment as he went to leave, looking as though he was trying desperately to remember something important that had slipped his mind. After a moment of concentration, the man paled and began speed walking towards the courtyard in a close but not ultimately imperfect approximation of a dignified pace.

If we're giving Lord and Lady Yamaha the boot, let's make sure they can't scoop up Azula as a potentially legitimate challenger to the throne to rally all the jilted imperialists/war hawks/ozai loyalists around to oppose Zuko's reforms.

While she was not thrilled by the direction things seemed to be heading, the woman was quite motivated to ensure that they were on the same page when it came to the economic realities of peace.

This one I feel more torn about, but hear me out. The guy is probably gonna be in our corner, and we should talk to him later, but he's not likely to take much offense. Giving Shu our immediate attention signals her we actually understand the importance of some serious fiscal responsibility, and potentially gives us a lot of important information when we have talks later. We really wanna get her in our corner I feel. She is competent, still driven influential in a faction we'd like on side, one of the few 'old hands' that we might actually want to keep in this cabinet long term.
 
[X] Minister Aikawa, seemingly still considering himself in the favor of the Fire Lord given his role in the boy's birth, took that opportunity to comment on her skull shape and its implications for her ability to govern. The vocabulary used made it somewhat difficult to understand what exactly he was trying to communicate, though the Fire Lord clearly took it poorly, ordering him dismissed: the elderly doctor left without much of a fuss, seeming more sad about the matter than anything else, but his departure is an all-too-public show of weakness within the imperial household.

If she hadn't known any better, the man would have almost appeared lost, the once venerable colossus of war reduced to a relic of an age since passed, one that had endured beyond the things that gave it purpose.

Kind of want to get rid of the corrupt industrialist, but he should at least be possible to remove on criminal grounds at some point. This makes colonial and economic reforms easier, and hopefully the paramilitaries do something stupid but not regime threatening that gives us an excuse to crack down on them and pit them against the more loyal military.

[X] Lord Yanase took that opportunity to press his case again, once more attempting to emphasize the importance of having a true son of the Fire Nation in the role of the chancellery, only to find himself promptly dismissed by the thoroughly annoyed teenager. The man didn't seem to believe it at first, laughing as though it was a joke, though the imperial firebenders made it evident enough that the boy-king most certainly had not been speaking in jest. While the man's removal might allow for some degree of reform within one of the largest ministries in the country, it also pits the most powerful industrialist in the nation against the throne.

As much as those ministers are important we need to make sure that Azula doesn't disappear or decide to torch Minister Qin (as I don't think he is a Firebender and a firebender might be needed to stop Azula for torching people)

On another note, what happened to the previous Chancellor? Did Ozai just not have one?
 
While it probably wont win, I think booting the minister of Industry and Development would be most prudent to get the economic situation out of the hands of him and his cronies. Economic collapse currently stands as one of the biggest threats to this quest. While the Yamaha's are hostile I think they have more bark than bite.

I'm pretty sure Azula is an unresponsive mess trying to make sense of the words "Ozai Lost", and unlikely to be causing any particular trouble. I'm not sure what Qin is running off too, but an Azula tantrum seems unlikely.

The problem is that he remains the legal owner of the factories even if he is thrown out. Switching the military industry too civilian is going to be difficult enough without him very legally being as much of an uncooperative hindrance as he can without justifying imprisonment.

What we need is the economy hand via minster Shu and either the two old biddies or Ozai's personal Eugenics preacher gone.

In the first post his fate is briefly mentioned

a part of Qin wondered if he should be making himself scarce before the new Fire Lord started making lists.
That was evidently what the Chancellor had opted to do if the smoke coming from his estate was any indication; Mezao had always been an ardent supporter of Ozai, so it was little surprise that the ornery bastard had opted to flee while he had the chance. Self-immolation was also possible, though his gut told him that the old dog wouldn't just give up quite yet. Such a rapid departure was perhaps the wiser course of action, but… well, the Minister of Wartime Technology had found himself far too enamored with his silks and sake to jump ship just yet.

Probably going to end up causing us trouble later, this Mezao.
 
I think that in a weird way he's (Yanase) not hard to get rid of? Like, not easy and the consequences remain, but we can almost assuredly fire him later under the justification of either:

A) He's really corrupt and everyone knows it.
B) If the economy goes south because managing the end of a war is really hard, we can throw him as a sacrifice to the Volcano.

The main concern is that he'll retain legal authority to fuck around with economic reform as long as he remains minister. Throwing him out means we install someone who can wrench the factories out of his hands with some handy dandy nationalization which would allow us to gear the economy towards not collapsing when peace comes. As it stands he'll remain a roadblock for that.

Yes, but she also needs a physician which she will not breathe fire at. I think this man currently is the only plausible candiadte for that.

The previous Chancellor decided to flee or might have committed suicide. We aren't 100% sure, just yet.

The man is probably tied to profit. If we can get him on board for economic reform,we can pull the rug up under him later when he's overconfident in having wormed his way into the fire thrones graces. As the saying goes, keep your friends close, and your enemies closer.
