There's nothing like a nice update with some new technology rewards. I wonder what we unlocked...
Gain Adamantine Statue of Jaghatai Khan
That sounds like something the White Scars might have an issue with if we parade it around. It might not be a sacred artifact, but that could be something they like.
I wish we could hold onto something like this and maybe gift it to the White Scars. Alas, they probably won't accept the jester and try to kill us.
Gain Relic Forge-Hammer of Vulkan = Large Archeotech Forge Hammer that may or may not have been forged by Vulkan himself. It is incredibly potent when it comes to repairs, counting as 1 Techmarine and 5 PP per turn.
...Okay, how did someone steal a Forge-Hammer possibly made by Vulkan? It might be one of the missing artifacts for his return. I wouldn't be surprised if the Salamanders want to pay us a visit if they ever found out about it, probably with flamers.
If possible, we could give it to them so they would have a good reputation with us. Perhaps after a little research.
I wonder if it is possible to research the hammer and see if we could replicate it. We probably wouldn't get a +5 PP for each Techmarine, but even a +1 or +2 could give us options.
Archaeotech Oven: Provides 5 PP per turn due to being able to make rare ceramics.
I wouldn't mind giving it to the Mechanica Sororitas and even burning an HB to research that tech so we could mass produce this. Even if it is only one per planet, that could give us so much PP and possibly unlock more Archeotech options for us. Being able to produce Archeotech weapons more easily could be a gold mine.
On Midgardia, the Storm Avengers make progress as these Sons of Guilliman don't shy away innovating with multiple research projects concluding. The efforts to understand the anti-grav repulsors of the Land Speeders conclude and while not all of the finer details are comprehended, the Storm Avengers have a firm idea of how they work.
We understand a little more about anti-grav technology that we could probably research one of the jet bikes more easily. If we can make jet bikes, we have an outright improvement from our regular bikes.
Then we can work on hover technology for bigger vehicles like a new Rhino. If we are going to have a transport, having it able to hover could make it much faster and easier to deal with hazardous terrain. Don't know about bigger vehicles as it sounds redundant for our purposes.
They also finished coming up with a modular combi-bolter design. By working existing combi-bolter designs, the Godi are able to come up with a standardised modular design for plasma, melta and flamer attachments. Using a pre-existing combi-plasma gun as the basis, the Godi are able to come up with a version where an underslung module could be attached. After that, it was just a matter of making the modules for a plasma gun, a meltagun and a flamer.
Unfortunately, the modular combi-bolter is still limited by inherent restrictions. Making room for the attachment while still making a functional boltgun requires the touch of a skilled expert to make. Furthermore, the attachment might be modular now, but the underlying issue of making a functional firing mechanism at such a small size also requires a certain degree of expertise in addition to limiting the number of shots to just one.
Figured there would be issues with such a unique piece of tech. Probably going to need further studies in other areas.
The Storm Avengers also came up with a solution to power the automated foundry they found by building a plasma reactor in a nearby location. A solution that came with good timing as the brothers of 5th Company were able to discover a second automated foundry during the latest explorations of the bunker beneath Aula Fortis.
...I want to study this as well so we could potentially make more of these. I don't know how much PP this has, but putting one of these on each planet could give us options. It probably would cost a lot of RP though.
