This...is a Quest (OR..."Come Sail Away: A Council/Riot Hybrid Quest Where You're Trying to Build a Ship")

Voting is open
Sir Plusse has gained "AX-Man" Skill! When you specifically state the use of an ax-type equipment for your action, gain top priority for equipiment selection and gain double the equipment bonus! (For example, your bonus for using the Fine Stone Hatchet would go from "(+1d4 to Chopping; +2 to Other Relevant Uses) (+1 Fine)" to "(+2d4 to Chopping, +4 to Other Relevant Uses) (+2 Fine)".)
Well, I'd say that's officially "my axe" now, until and unless the tool guys put together a better one.

Still, we can produce bodies so if we only need to use one to flavor the flame, that's not necessarily encouraging people to set up a corpse factory.

Still, point remains that I'm making clear that no, trying to use a rioter's corpse to try to influence the flame in some way is not going to work.

You can still try if you really, really want to, just don't be surprised when it doesn't work, exactly the way I told you it wouldn't work.

And not working is the best possible outcome because I reserve the right to instead make the outcome be that something goes horribly wrong and you wind up regretting that you tried in the first place.

There is very much a reason that this is a very rare instance where I make an exception to my 'Yes, and' approach of 'give it a try and find out what happens' to instead save you from wasting your time and action on the matter.

There may in fact be potential uses for dead rioter bodies, but it's going to have to be something really creative, with a really good idea and argument behind it, it will have to be something that I am absolutely confident it carries 0 risk of inspiring anyone to try creating any characters for the express purpose of dying in order to leave corpses behind, and I'm going to have to feel completely confident that it will not come with the risk of going terribly wrong by inspiring people in the worst possible way.

Why even have corpses at all then? Instead of just having them vanish in a puff of logic regardless of attempts to interact with them. Because it is incredibly unlikely for someone to spend the effort of writing a thousand word thesis on how a corpse could be both useful and not worth mass producing if that's the minimum bar for entry. If failed attempts still produced something then I could see people experimenting and coming up with something creative, but as it stands it's just a threadmark there, taunting us with a resource existing but that we're not allowed to use.

Because corpses are a thing we have to deal with and also can be used to make a reminder of a characters contributions in the form of a grave?

We don't have to deal with them. They spontaneously vanish if we don't interact with them immediately. And we've already got the memorial post and could make memorial structures without a corpse.

Round 16 Results (Part V) - [Title Text Goes Here]
Set on proving yourself to be the most useful little robot you can, you go to the Quest Lab dig site to help dig out the Quest Lab.

Except when you get there, you discover that the lab guy you were planning to get instructions from isn't there.

No matter. You still have the Craftsman's directive to put a shovel to use, and how hard can it really be to dig a giant hole in the ground?

Turns out that when you have the right tools, the right mindset, the right determination, and you put your back into it, the answer is 'not very'.

You dig, dig, dig like a good little robot, and by the time you break you can beep happily at the pile of dirt you've from [HOLE] to [NOT HOLE].

@Robot # 207 gets +2 STR XP and +1 SMT XP! Strength and Smarts both upgrade to 1d5!

1350 Lumps of Dirt gained! Quest Lab hole is now 30'x30'x5'!

Feeling out of sorts, you take no chances with your condition. Instead, you rest, and feel all the better for it.

@Shade31415 gets +1 SPK XP! Spunk upgrades to 1d5!

Shade 31415 is no longer Disoriented!

You have had it up to here with the Council. They truly are nothing but trouble.

Alas, you really don't have the means to remove them from the picture, but maybe you can motivate them to get their act together?

You march over to where the Council is working, then plant your feet and stare at them.

Menacingly.

You present as menacing a presence as you are capable, trying to get across a message.

As you do that, the local tourist comes along and tries to break up what is arguably a non-existent confrontation. It's then that you realize how silly you look, especially since the Council that you are currently trying to menace are actually making themselves useful.

@rush99999 gets +1 SPK XP!
@Random Reader gets +1 SPT XP!

rush99999 is now Shaken (Embarrassed)!
Random Reader is no longer Shaken!

After eating your regularly required dose of sustenance, you force out an exaggerated burp.

"Man, I love food." You say loudly, doing so just in earshot and out of eyesight of a nearby rioter you consider to be susceptible to being cleverly influenced. "I'm so glad the council has let our tongues be blessed with delicious cuisine rather than boringly ignore reality! I should listen to them more."

Shockingly, your plan actually works.

Sort of.

While there's no indication that the quest's opinion of the Council has improved, soon word spreads that hey, maybe we should try getting a little invested in this 'eating' thing. What's the worst that could happen?

During Round 17, each player who actively includes an [Eat] action as part of your vote will have a chance of receiving a minor benefit!

Thanks to the generous hauls of the foragers, there is plenty of food to go around. Everyone eats happily, with leftovers to spare.

1 Small Clay Container is no longer filled with Tomato Pulp!
11 Tomatoes Eaten!
10 Ponata Eaten!
12 Mushroom Eaten!

Thus finally concludes Round 16.

Post Round 16 Supplemental Vote - Dead Rioter Bodies
While waiting for Round 17 to begin, here's an bonus round of voting.

This vote concerns the matter of Dead Rioter Bodies, and addressing how the system as is is arguably convoluted for no reason.

The vote will be by simple majority, voted on by everyone who wishes to participate. This is also an opening for people who are not currently part of the game to do a signup vote.

There are two choices, and while there are no 'full' write-in options, you are free to add in a write-in sub-vote if you'd like a shot of getting a benefit from voting or if you'd like to try to go the extra mile in trying to convince people to take your side. Admittedly, you could just do that anyway, but this makes it more fun.

EDIT: To be clear, the only two 'real' options are as presented below. There is no option to vote on modified versions of these votes, the write-in sub-vote is just for fun and will have no substantive impact on the main vote.

[ ][Dead Rioter Bodies] Keep the System As Is - Leave open the opportunity to potentially find something useful to do with dead rioter bodies if anyone really wants to try to figure it out. Or just let the Council address the issue.
-[ ]

[ ][Dead Rioter Bodies] Change the System - Just simplify the whole issue by making dead rioter bodies auto-bury (or some other flavorful equivalent) to remove them from the picture entirely.
-[ ]

The vote will remain open until after I do updates for Round 16 results and am ready to start Round 17. Could be tomorrow, could be a week from now, so if you have a strong opinion on the matter or want to participate you should get your vote in now because this vote will NOT come with a last-call warning.

-[X] The body Disappears, poofs into smoke or gets dusted.

If there are rules against using bodies them remove the bodies rather then opening a door for the Players and the QM to try and out think each other.

That guy who really wants to use corpses for stuff is creeping me out. The best way to prevent escalation is to just get rid of the corpses.

lets just, not have this argument. when people die, they can vote what happens to thier body, mine for example should just self cremate so that it may fertilize the plants I so care for.

-[X] Rather than banning the use of corpses for fear of people creating characters for the sole purpose of killing them off for their corpses, might I suggest that you directly ban the practice that you don't want happening instead?

-[x] They can be punching bags for people that want to hit the Council instead of actually hitting the Council

[X][Signup] Rioter
-[X] (Third Update) Whatever Have I Gotten Myself Into?
-[X] Thora, Black Bug-Horse Shapeshifter, may be able to shapeshift but it'll probably depend on a roll.

(I'm finally able to join the quest!)

-[ ] Dead Rioters become a random known animal.

Edit: Actually there's now a better option which I'm switching to.

[X][Dead Rioter Bodies] Change the System - Just simplify the whole issue by making dead rioter bodies auto-bury (or some other flavorful equivalent) to remove them from the picture entirely.
-[X] Let the Player write how the body is removed from play, give them the freedom to do so

If you're talking about me, rude. If not, whoops.

I'm mostly choosing this so that I can write that my body gets salvaged, thus helping out my successor/replacement postmortem.
or could simply being rebuilt be an option?
