Turn 2: Language Problems
Colchis - 831.M30

In the mysterious depths of the Archmagos' chamber, you embarked on the daunting task of unraveling the Root language, a form of communication that transcended mere spoken words. It encompassed a spectrum of senses, including sight, smell, pheromones, taste, and even senses like infrared, unknown to human biology.

As you began your explanation, you demonstrated the basic concepts with gestures and expressions, drawing the Archmagos' keen attention. However, as you delved deeper into the intricacies of the language, you encountered your first major hurdle.

The Root language referenced signals that required body parts humans did not possess. There were allusions to sensory organs capable of detecting vibrations in the air, akin to sonar, and appendages that could emit and detect subtle electrical signals, akin to that of a shark.

Attempting to teach these concepts proved challenging. How could you convey something so alien, so fundamentally different from human physiology? Despite using technology to simulate these abilities, the Archmagos struggled to grasp the concepts, his mind unable to fully comprehend the sensory experiences you sought to convey.

Undeterred, you sought alternative teaching methods. Augmented reality simulations were utilized to allow the Archmagos to experience the sensations of these missing body parts. Additionally, other members of the Mechanicus, enhanced with cybernetic upgrades, served as living examples of the Root language's principles.

Progress was slow and arduous. The Root language seemed deeply ingrained in the biology of its speakers, and without the corresponding sensory organs, true understanding remained elusive.

Despite your efforts, the Archmagos struggled to grasp the concepts. Then the Root language's intricate system of scents and pheromones presented a second challenge. You explained the basics of how pheromones functioned, illustrating their ability to signal danger, attraction, or various emotions. Comparisons to animal behavior were made, yet the Archmagos still found the concept challenging.

It became evident that the Root language's comprehension required a deep understanding of biology and chemistry, realms where the Archmagos' augmented senses offered some advantage but not a complete solution. The complexities of this ancient form of communication continued to elude even the most advanced minds.

The Root language employs a vast array of pheromones, each bearing its own unique significance, you explained, observing the Archmagos' struggle to differentiate between them.

To try and surmount this obstacle, you turned once more to technology. You utilized a series of devices capable of replicating the effects of these pheromones, granting the Archmagos firsthand experience, ensuring his immersion in this sensory world.

Immersed in this new realm, the Archmagos began to grasp the subtleties of the Root language's olfactory communication. He learned to discern how specific scents could convey emotions, intentions, and even intricate concepts such as time and space, each revelation bolstering his confidence in navigating these subtle messages.

Despite all this, you and the Archmagos achieved pitiable progress in deciphering this facet of the Root language. You devised a method of translating these scents into more tangible forms of communication, employing visual and auditory cues to complement the olfactory signals. It was deeply entrenched in the essence of life, shaped by eons of evolution, a realization that underscored the challenge of conveying its essence to one devoid of such sensory acumen.

Despite mounting frustration, your determination remained resolute. You explored alternative avenues, delving into taste-based communication, offering various substances in an attempt to evoke specific responses. Yet, this only served to further perplex the Archmagos.

Finally, you introduced him to the concept of infrared communication, employing specialized devices to simulate the sensation. Though intrigued, the Archmagos struggled to decipher the influx of new information it provided.

Ultimately, you conceded that teaching the Archmagos the universal root language surpassed your capabilities. It was too deeply entwined with your biology, too reliant on your sensory experiences, rendering it impractical to convey to another being.

After deliberation, a new path emerged: the translation of the Standard Template Construct (STC) language. The Archmagos, recognizing its significance in unlocking ancient technology, embraced this alternative. With his augmetic eyes alight with anticipation, you embarked together on the formidable task of deciphering its enigmatic symbols and glyphs. Each symbol, a cryptic puzzle awaiting unraveling, held the promise of unlocking the universe's most profound secrets.

Amidst the trials, you and the Archmagos forge ahead, overcoming obstacles to unravel the mysteries of the STC language. Together, you devise a method for translating its cryptic symbols, utilizing augmented reality overlays to simulate the sensory experiences essential for comprehending its complexities. The Archmagos proves remarkably adept, his augmetic enhancements affording him insights beyond your natural abilities.

As your labor continues, the true extent of the STC language's profundity begins to unfurl. It transcends mere communication, serving as a blueprint for advanced technology, a manual for harnessing its power, and surprisingly, a chronicle of ancient history. Each translation unveils new vistas of understanding, unveiling possibilities once deemed unattainable.

After countless hours of toil, you and the Archmagos achieve the monumental feat of translating the STC language. Its wealth of knowledge is staggering, offering humanity a window into a bygone era of technological grandeur. With the translation complete, you and the Archmagos stand poised at the precipice of a new age of enlightenment. The secrets of the STC now lie within grasp, heralding a brighter tomorrow for all humankind.

As the translation of the STC language unfolds before you, the Archmagos's eyes gleam with a newfound fervor. He speaks of the future, of the possibilities that now lay within his grasp. "With this knowledge," he declares, "I have what I need to contest for the spot of Fabricator General."

His ambition is palpable, his determination unwavering. But as you stand beside him, you realize that your own journey is far from over.

"I am here," you explain, "to settle the wound."

The Archmagos regards you with a mix of curiosity and understanding. "The Bleed," he muses, "a place of great power and great peril. To settle it would be…...foolish for most. Most."

You nod, knowing that the task ahead is daunting but necessary. The wound, a rift in the fabric of reality, has long been a source of conflict and chaos. It is a place where the laws of physics break down, where reality itself seems to unravel. But it is also a place of untapped potential, a gateway to realms beyond imagination.

"What were the true dangers of the wound?" you ask the Archmagos.

"The dangers of the wound are manifold," intoned the Archmagos, his voice reverberating with the weight of centuries of knowledge. "The unpredictable cascading time flux is but a minor concern compared to the perils that lie within."

He gestured towards the screen, his mechadendrites whirring softly as he spoke. "The warp horrors that lurk within are beyond comprehension, beings of pure malevolence that seek to corrupt and destroy all they encounter. Their presence alone is enough to invoke insanity and madness."

"Yet even more insidious are the memetic dangers that corrupt space-time,"
the Archmagos continued, his augmetic eyes glowing with a faint light. "These are ideas and concepts that can infect the mind like a virus, twisting thoughts and perceptions until they are unrecognizable."

"And then there is the breakdown of the laws of physics,"
he added, his tone grave. "Within the rift, the very fabric of reality is in flux. Time flows erratically, gravity is but a suggestion, and the laws that govern our universe are but a distant memory."

"As we stand here before the sealed wound, let us not forget the dangers that still lurk within,"
the Archmagos concluded, his voice echoing through the chamber. "We have achieved a great victory today, but we must remain ever vigilant, for the dangers of the warp are ever-present, and they will not rest until they have consumed us all."

With a deep sense of gratitude, you thank the Archmagos for his guidance and wisdom. His knowledge and insight have been invaluable, and you are keenly aware of the importance of your collaboration. As you prepare to leave the chamber, the Archmagos nods, acknowledging you with a slight bow of his head.

With the wishes used to make the Archmagos some sorcerers, you have repaid him back in full.

Thus, as you step out into the cool, dimly lit corridors of the Mechanicus temple, you ponder your next steps. You know that there will be more meetings in the future, more challenges to overcome and mysteries to unravel. But for now, you are content to return to your tribe and share the knowledge you have gained.

As you make your way back to the tribe, you think about who you should go meet next. There are many possibilities, many avenues of exploration and discovery. Perhaps you will seek out the elders of your tribe, to share with them the wonders of the STC language and the potential it holds for your people. Or perhaps you will seek out other tech-priests, to learn from them and exchange knowledge.

As you emerge from the temple into the bright sunlight, you are filled with a sense of purpose and determination. The future is uncertain, but you are ready to face whatever challenges come your way. With the knowledge of the STC language in your possession, you know that you have the power to shape the course of history and lead your tribe to a brighter future.

You will need to meet with the Archmagos later, but for now? You have earned your rest.

We are probably the best investigator of the lot since we do have awareness high enough to trigger excellency and if we have to go walking somewhere warp-y we have shaping defense. Figure out where the enemy came from and what they might be up to.

Also I am kind of glad random robot man does not have the ability to speak the root of all languages, not sure I trust him with it.

We may want to get Pattern Reassertion Touch if we want to take anyone with us into the Bleed, although Principal Invoking Onslaught would also be very attractive.

I am wondering does Dark Humans got organs so that they able to understand such complex language?

Is it possible to create a customized charm to implant such StC language understanding upon clan members? Will we need spealized organs or just spiritual enhancements is enough for the task?

The root language is z Primordial language. The STC language is the Men of Stone Language, I.e a computer language.

Sorry if it was confusing.

You know it's interesting that the Ad Mech stumbled on the language of the Primordials while trying to translate code. It could just be accidental, but a thought occurs... there was a Primordial who fits very well with their notion of the Machine God, the one who made the Exaltations, the Great Maker. If he or something of his is still out there I can see how his influence might have touched the Red Priests and then I remembered the Void Dragon in his labyrinth, greatest of the Sun Eating C'tan. It might be that when we encounter that Primordial thing it will not be friendly. Maybe the gremlins won out basically.

We might want to be more careful with the Ad Mech when we can afford it. Just because Chaos is flashing warning lights in every color of the rainbow does not mean they are the only great evil out there, even if all my suspicions turn out to be unfounded it should be noted they have Dragon Cults.

Just a reminder that "The Engine of Extinction" ie Neverborn Auto-Kun and Viator of Null Space are things in exalted proper, though the former may not have happened.

Just putting this out there.

Also thd Warp IS the afterlife.
