So in actuality we are likely to be an acoustic vampire. That's pretty based, I won't lie. It also makes me very interested in Dominion; a society where quickest way to power is murder, and yet the greatest power will be the one that sings in accord.

We do get owned by Silence spells but hey, which mage doesn't?
The Dominion is a fascinating morass of Litanists young and Ancient alike vying for power and influence, or sometimes simply squabbling for amusement, yet seldom rising to strike out against the Lords and Ladies, to whom Ascension is owed. Prophetic networks, Reassured enclaves and wonders, alien species and so much more call its world a home. A civilizarion undergoing its golden age indeed, even if there are some sins to pay its price with. It's an interesting world to be born to, where a young Litanist casually considers their future development and posting and doesn't seem to think much of the fact they're able to lift trucks or sing storms into being.

And being silenced isn't a problem if you are also a supernaturally skilled ninja who Harvested the traits of shadow beasts and umbramancers from a dozen different worlds.

As we can see here, Angel's significantly ahead of everything else, with Masked being perhaps the sole serious competitor. The less popular votes may wish to consider joining forces if the angelic hegemony is undesirable! This is arguably the most important vote of the quest.

I personally like mask more than angel because we can build our character to be anybody instead of being forced to be a naive good hero.

Well said! The Angel's naïveté makes them a crushingly dangerous choice. What matter the protestations of the voters that a supernatural murderer must be slain now, before it is too late, when the Angel can see the good in their heart and won't listen to reason? Your leeway in action is limited; to start with, you are virtually incapable of ruthlessness. Is an ineffectual goody two shoes really who you want to be, thread?

[X] Litanist
[X] Ex-Kratocrat
[X] Masked

I suppose I will lend my support towards Masked brotherhood, unless Litanist chads can band together. Angel seems hard to execute from both player's and story perspective, and while potential is undoubtedly there, so there is potential for annoying scenarios.

As for Masked - the starting issue with Mask is that we start injured. Yet we potentially start with multiple masks, which brings along by far the greatest power of this build; we can sell masks to people. Ability to produce and pawn off powers can't potentially be overstated - how much would a mundane or semi-mundane person pay for a simple flight, or super strength or rescue from pain or illness? The exact value of our Masks depends on what exact we can do from get go, yet I don't foresee much issue using some of our early masks to get through first part of the quest.

Once we are healed, the world is our oyster. Trade powers for resources, get better powers and then trade them to better resources, rinse and repeat. Masks offer very dynamic approach to worlds we encounter, as we can trade instead of having to constantly fight. The potential of theft and capture is something to consider and work around, however I have enough faith in our ability to execute to not worry about this too much.

Besides trading, Masks not only give us unique ability to equip allies with powers, but indeed encourages us to find worthwhile allies and equip them with powers as we have many masks, but only one face to wear it ourselves. Say what you want about stories, but ones that have people bantering with you tend to be more fun to read.

Eh angel doesn't sound hard just do good asides what's really hard is developing a character when we only get so many updates and they clearly don't have a character we can just start doing stuff with. What I mean by this is that any other character than angel we are gonna have to work to change the character and make decisions about what to do with the mindset of changing the character. This is obviously a plus for some but I kinda just want to do good for good from on the outset and just do shit. Whereas mask dude is sneaky with shit there and gamer can trend towards mirderhobo and you know listening to the adminstrators. Also you know identity crisis shit is probably what we have to deal with on masked.

I kinda just don't wanna deal with having to change our characters personality throughout the quest. Angels character development is likely learning to deal with suffering but from the outset the plan would probably just be do good. Whereas masks we are gonna have to fucking tiptoe our personality for desired outcome and argue about it all the time. Given this isn't a dealbreaker or anything just something I'm somewhat exasperated doing.

I also don't like the meta that last quest the character sheet changed like three times and we have to look for loot in masked quest. I don't want a loot gathering quest and scrounging up whatever meta resource we have for better loot.

[X] Litanist -
[X] Angel -

Litanist has a solid flexible magic system which interfaces well with the street. Angel allows for miracles and being a good person in a cruel world. Both sound interesting.

I'm pretty sure that the Mask does have some form of character, since we at least know that they were rebelling because the empire was trying to get people to wear a specific type of mask, so if Mask wins I imagine that the vote on what mask(s) we have with us would fit with that.

Like seriously one update a week maybe every two and we need to spend actions on loot gathering for our build so we are likely to go on quest tangents. Also from previous quests loot has often been based around throw more meta resource get better items and I'm not sure I'd enjoy that all too much. Sure it'd be fun when we occasionally do get good shit but a lot of the quest will effectively be going places, arguing for loot both literally and so we get meta resources, going somewhere else and trying to mitigate character flaws.

Oh I wasn't saying they don't have character so much as saying we are gonna have to fight the character in something's from an ooc basis cause we are likely gonna try to mitigate flaws, change our character, and probably deal with some personality issues due to the entire mask meta basically shouting identity issues.

Hm. this seems mostly a preference thing, cuz looking for loot, doing sneaky stuff and messing with masks sounds interesting to me.

We merely take on aspects of our masks while wearing them, however we are hardly forced to wear them all the time. There is mechanical benefit in going deeper with a mask, but that is something we can play with at our leisure, not something hoisted onto us.

Playing the mask character means we should go into mask shit. We only get so many updates to do things.

Like there's the mention that we don't have to do something but that's kind of a downside for me as it means we are basically going to be dividing our attention. As an angel we just do shit and deal with the consequences. As a masked we likely need to divide between finding loot, immersing ourselves in certain masks where Birdsie says we need face time to make them better, trying to change our personality, mitigating flaws, exploring relationships, upgrading loot, and arguing about what to do. Fluffball angel seems more straightforward.

Still like Mask more tbh.
Totally fair I'm just pointing out things we likely need to deal with. Honestly I'd be more for it and this isn't a gripe at Birdsie if it was one of those constant update quests like dragon paradox does. As it'd give more time for those thing and I'd be less worried but I mean god diversion only had a handfull of quest things done in its entirety and barely any relationship stuff now think about what we'd be doing in mask quest.
